...Packard Bell Audio Move is a 512 Megabyte MP3 player. It runs for up to 12 hours on a single AAA battery. It comes with earphones (not all MP3 player do). It fits in the palm of the hand measuring 3 ½ inches x 1 inch x ¾ of an inch, and comes with a quick start guide, the guarantee booklet and a CD ROM with the instruction manual and software for older versions of Windows. I listen to lots of audio programs from Nightingale Connant Corporation, courses on Marketing, business and self help etc., and I like to take them out with me so that I'm not tied to the arm chair. But I don't like lugging a CD player and CDs everywhere with me, and it jumps around if you play it while walking. So I figured this justified investing in an MP3 player. ...I've had my PackardBell - AudioDream 512mb MP3 player for around four months now. Its been half the way around the world with me, and done a good job of it, but signs of wear and tear are starting to show. I purchased the product off of eBay from a seller called "Pabs Direct" who is an Authorised supplier of refurbished Packard Bell products, At the time, I got it for £32 including P+P. The package comes with the player itself, Instruction manual, computer drivers, USB cable, Plug charger and a small black velvet bag (Although I think he supplies some different case nowadays). The AudioDream is simple and easy to setup with your PC, just inserting it into a spare USB port using the cable provided, and Windows will automatically recognise the device. ...Napa 256 Mb MP3 Player. This portable MP3 player seems to be only available from Currys and Dixons, or at least it was at Christmas when I bought mine. For anyone who doesn't know, an Mp3 player can be used to store digital music tracks, and then can be used to payback whenever you wish. Basically it's a new age digital personal stereo. It is really quite small for what it is. Its size is : 85mm x 35mm x 20mm. This is roughly the same size as your index and middle finger combined. Its weight is 40 grams. You need to be able to connect your Mp3 player to your PC, which is achieved by using the USB cable which is supplied in the box. A CD which has the driver for your Mp3 player is also included, but if you are running a reasonably up to date operating system such as Windows ME or higher then the driver is unnecessary... ...I really wanted an MP3 player. At the time the mobile phone MP3 players were pointless due to lack of space, being bulky, and basically rubbish quality meant a portable MP3 player for any music listener was a must. Looking around, there's always going to be the cheap gadgets on the market. I try and stay away for them because, even if they do what it says on the box, the actual quality of the amp on them is usually very bad quality, and they usually have poor battery life, which means charging them for longer than you're actually listening to them. However, Philips have a good reputation, so when the Philips GoGear 512MB Player came on at a good price, I thought why not? And I haven't looked back. ...is a tutorial but I never used that, being a man I just jumped straight in. The MP3 player itself can play MP3, WMA and DR9 formats and comes in a few sizes of 128MB/256MB/512MB/1GB/2GB memory . The LCD screen is quite small but uses text to display what is needed and tracks playing. On the one end you have a cap covering the usb connector that will fit standard usb ports, unfotunately the instructions do not say whether it is USB 1 or USB 2 but I put it in my USB 2 slot and it works fine(other websites say its USB 1.1). It has a number of functions that can all be accessed through the mode button, you press it down to bring up menu and switch left or right to desired option and then press it again to select, some of the fucntions thourgh the mode button are as follows ... *** Features *** Selecting tracks - Push button left or right... ...I have had this Sony MP3 player since Christmas and have been very impressed so far. The design is superb - the player fits easily in a shirt, jacket or trouser pocket or belt loop via the clip provided. The Sonicstage software is reasonably intuitive to use and you quickly get the hang of how to manage audio files and the transfer process. If you can be online while music processing then the feature which automatically locates and registers Artist, Album and Track Names is invaluable. No more typing everthything out longhand from the jewel case if you are copying from your own CDs! You need to choose the audio sample rate carefully, which will determine the number of tracks you can fit on the memory, but several hundred is average for 512Mb storage capacity. ...in a very short time and these days you would be hard pushed to find a piece of audio software that isn’t capable of converting your cd collection into mp3 files, much of it for free. Even better, you are no longer limited to listening to your MP3 collection on your PC. Some hi-fi and mini systems are able to play mp3s but when it comes to personal audio players it seems that every passing day brings a few more tempting gadgets on to the market. The trouble is that most of these mp3 players are still fairly new and usually quite pricey. I’ve been looking to spend about £60 and for that sort of price you can choose from quite a large selection of what are called solid state players. ...Simply put. You need an MP3 player if you like music. Anything you want you can take with you, without a price for the music. Much better than a CD player! MP3's have become very popular throughout the public music industry. The recent experiences with Napsters law suit and others a like have meant that the MP3's have got a lot more publicity than may have first been anticipated. Deciding that it was probably a much better thing to get an MP3 portable player than a Mini-Dic player, I got one for Christmas. It cost £100, compared to a mini-disc player costing around £200. It came with 64mb already installed, and the option of having an external hard-drive. This means that I can store 64mb of music on the MP3 player (typically a song will be around 3mb in size but varies from song to song). This means I can store around 21 singles... Read review
