512mb memory unit - too small?

Advantages: SMall and easy to take around with you and for storing game saves
Disadvantages: Expensive and a hard drive would be far more beneficial

...If you purchase the xbox arcade console then you will get one of these 512mb memory units free with the console. However if you opt to go for either the premium console or the elite console you will get the main hard drive for free and will have less need for these. These small memory units are both advantageous as they are small and compact and suitable for certain tings. However they are on the other hand quite pathetic compared to the 20gb or 120gb hard drives which are also available on the market. I currently own both a 20gb hard drive and one of these 512mb memory units as well. ...Apple products. Compared to the iPod shuffle, I would have to say this appeals to me much more, as there is screen display and user-friendly software. I also found the microphone really useful for learning presentations and the track encoded is really cool! This feature enables you to plug in the Creative to any earphone plug and record from... well anything! The sound quality is obviously slightly poorer than it would be on the original player, but it's great for recording cassettes and other things that you can't rip songs from and making mp3 files. All in all, this is a neat little MP3, but I think there are better ones on the market. Victorinox Swissbit USB flash drive - 512 MB

Advantages: Durable and Well built. Nice Design.
Disadvantages: Doesn't have any Swiss Army Knife accessories

...with USB 1.1 ports but it doesn't work with those in my keyboard. The transfer of data is as fast as any other flash drive I have used. The drive comes preloaded with security software to prevent unauthorised access to your data although this only seems to be compatible with Windows machines. Overall this a decent USB stick that works well and is a more attractive design than most. It feels very durable and well put together. 512MB isn't a huge amount of memory these days so I would recommend going for at least the 1GB model. Some people may prefer Victorinox's other USB Swiss Army Knives which have the usual knife and accessories in addition to the USB stick. However, for transporting data, especially on planes, this device may be the sensible option....

...the ipod suffle 512mb is easy to use and operate. I have so far found it simple! It can hold up to 130 songs and also be used to transfer data which i have not tryed yet. It has two modes shuffle which randomly chosses songs for you to listen to! Great fun when you want a suprise. The other mode allows you to listen to the songs on the order that they were placed on to the device. The shuffle is great for those who likie a random playing of music. However may be tedious for those how always wish to listen to a certain song as you have to flick through your entire playlist until you locate the song as the shuffle has no screen! Another disadvantage is that the shuffle recharges when plugged into the usb port of your computer, so i you take it away with you and it runs out off power you eigther need to purchase a seperate...

The iPod boasts at being only 0.78 ounces and just 0.33 inches thin,so was ideal for what i was looking for in terms of weight and size. Although 512 Mb is not as much as the shuffles predecessors, for my own use, (ie. traveling to and from work,running,going to the gym) it was enough to hold all my favourite songs.
