512 Megabytes of RAM - as smooth as it gets.
Review of Kingston ValueRAM DRAM 512 MB PC1600 by

Advantages: Good price, neat design, reliable, excellent capacity and great performance
Disadvantages: None
.... Kingston serves an international network of distributors and OEM customers in the US, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Latin America, representing more than 3,000 locations worldwide.
-------------------- About the Memory --------------------
As I've already written a similar review regarding the 256 MB, PC3200 DDR - a lower capacity module than this 512 MB PC3200 DDR type. I guess I will have to input some similar information already on my other review - just in case readers don't read my previous 256 MB PC3200 DDR's review.
As some of you may be aware that handling electronic devices without due care can cause damage to the device by electrostatic shock, I suggest new-users (or continuous users) to touch full stainless-steel kitchen taps (or any unpainted, grounded metal object) to drain electrostatic that's already charged around...

Kingston
Review of Kingston ValueRAM DRAM 512 MB PC1600 by
coopsta133
Advantages: good price and value. Good brand
Disadvantages: Not the fastest around.
...the step by step picture instructions included with the product. If you run into any trouble then use their online site or forums which are very helpful. Make sure you refer to the manual your computer/motherboard came with however as it will let you know where to install the RAM
If installing two or more pieces of RAM, or adding this to a currently installed stick, then make sure it is rated for the same speeds and has same specs. It is not recommended to mix speeds although it can be done...
Here are the specifications for this for people interested in technical stuff :) :
512MB DIMM 184 PIN
Upgrade type is Generic
It is DDR SDRAM
It is NON ECC
Its CAS Latency is CL2
Supply voltage is 2.5v
DO NOT WORRY! If you do not know what this means. If unsure just refer to your computer manual yet again and just read the section on installing...

RAM it in
Review of Computer Memory (RAM) by
Del_Boy
Advantages: Cheap, a good speed increase, easy to fit
Disadvantages: Not many disadvantages really
..., if you use your computer for accessing the internet, typing documents in word or doing the odd spreadsheet then having an abundance of RAM will be wasted – if that is all you do. I recommend 64mb as the minimum and 128mb as the maximum.
·If you use your computer for games playing, then it is again all relative to the types of game that you play, as well as what equipment you run them on. If you tend to run older games then 64mb will do you fine.
·If however you run newer games, then 128mb is an acceptable amount. Though if you have a processor of around 600mhz or above then I would recommend upping your RAM to 256mb, as RAM is very cheap at the moment as well as being an extremely easy upgrade to fit.
I currently fit into the category of being quite a big games player as RAM was so cheap at the moment I bought an extra 256mb of it...

Mmmmm..... DDR RAM
Review of Corsair Value Select DRAM 512 MB PC3200 by
andersonfamily
Advantages: Gives me an extra 512MB
Disadvantages: No manual.
...This review is a little brief, but you can't write too much about a little stick of RAM! No, really you can't.
Even though I had a computer with 1GB of memory I decided I wanted even more from my computer, so I bought this! 512MB is the average amount of RAM a newish computer has, but it really isn't a lot in the long term. But saying I was only upgrading extra!
I never went into a computer before, as I was a software person myself. So I was obviously scared, in case I broke anything. So I spent about ten minutes researching, I thought it would take hours but I was amazed at the simplicity described!
I remember the days of 16MB RAM being loads, so I thought 512MB would cost lots, I was extremely shocked; it only cost around £30, from eBuyer!
Now I'll do a little explaining. Many different types of RAM exist, DDR 400 (PC3200...

Crucial to get good memory
Review of Crucial DRAM 512 MB PC2700 by
cootuk
Advantages: A quality brand name you can trust
Disadvantages: not the fastest memory timings
...packed, and include instructions on fitting. There is a lifetime warranty, and a 30 day money back compatibility warranty for added piece of mind.
In this case my PC takes PC3200 non-ECC DDR ram. A 512MB stick cost £61 inc delivery.
The CAS latency (another measure of the memory speed) is 3, which isn't at the best end of the scale, but Crucial are introducing a new Ballistix range with faster timings - though with an appropriate price premium (the CAS2 Ballistix ram would have been £88).
The CAS latency is really only important if you intend overclocking your PC memory and forcing it to run at a faster speed than it was really intended to, or if you are going to set aggressive memory timings in your motherboard bios setup. I'm not doing that, so this stick is fine for me
One good thing about Crucial ram is its ease of resale. When...

RAM this one in for improved performance!!!
Review of PNY DRAM 512 MB PC3200 by
pumfster
Advantages: Reasonably priced. Stable
Disadvantages: Isn't compatible with all motherboards
...Well as I have said in some of my earlier reviews, I have recently completely upgraded my PC. As a result my 256MB RAM was seriously outdated and holding up everything else. Therefore I started the search for some new stuff.
Now I didn't wish to spend megabucks on RAM, nor did I want something substandard, which would also need upgrading a few months down the line. PNY are in my opinion one of the better companies around these days when it comes to computers. The makers of the popular brand NVIDIA GeForce in graphics cards, I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that they did a 512MB RAM stick.
The sticks themselves cost me £39.99 from PC world, although they are also available in other computer hardware stores and you can probably pick them up from one of the online retailers for a few quid less. I personally bought 2 of them...

**512MB memory all on a stick**
Review of Dell USB Memory Key USB flash drive - 512 MB by
1st2thebar
Advantages: A lot of memory 512MB worth
Disadvantages: It can get lost in a brief case
...**DELL USB MEMORY STICK**
-- USB Flash Drive 512 MB --
- Dell -
Dell is now the 25th most wealthiest corporation in the US. Why Dell has done so well is due to the smaller component sales -- such as the USB Flash Drive memory keys, among many other computer components. That is a digital USB device.
Dell was founded by Michael Dell in 1984 and was originally named 'PC limited'. At that time IBM was the main specialists in computer products and components worldwide. Michael learn't his trade by using IBM mainframe computers on processing speeds of only 2MHz. A 'MHz' is a tiny fraction of the kind of processor speeds that are in the market today. Dell's visionary could see beyond the systems he worked with and wanted to find away to quicken up data processing and so got to work on building a prototype. In 1985 he managed...

512mb memory unit - too small?
Review of Microsoft Xbox 360 Memory Unit - 512MB by
shamis4
Advantages: SMall and easy to take around with you and for storing game saves
Disadvantages: Expensive and a hard drive would be far more beneficial
...If you purchase the xbox arcade console then you will get one of these 512mb memory units free with the console. However if you opt to go for either the premium console or the elite console you will get the main hard drive for free and will have less need for these. These small memory units are both advantageous as they are small and compact and suitable for certain tings. However they are on the other hand quite pathetic compared to the 20gb or 120gb hard drives which are also available on the market. I currently own both a 20gb hard drive and one of these 512mb memory units as well.
What is it?:
This is a 512mb memory unit for use in xbox 360 consoles - all of them whether they are the arcade or the elite. It is white to fit in with the typical colour of the console. It simply slots into a little slot which is appropriately...

Sandisk 512Mb memory card
Review of Sandisk Securedigital SD 512 512 MB by
01zesty01
Advantages: Small, reliable
Disadvantages: The lock feature is delicate
...So the SanDisk SD flash memory card 512MB.
Well as a start like most memory cards these days , its nice and small ( perfect for getting lost if your not careful). Despite its size its nice and long lasting ( well mines still alive anyway..or it was the last time i used it) you get a ncie handy case, you know incase you like accidently sit on it or something.
So 512MB , its a pretty good amount of memory for camera use , but if you really do like to get out there and basicly film your entire life, you\'d probably be better off with more memory, i recomend the 1gb or 2gb sandisk memory card.
So what a lovely shade of blue, hmm, yes its a bit boring compared to other memory cards, but what do you expect, half the time you cant see it anyway because its inside a device.
I found that the card can be read and written really fast...
