HP45 Print Cartridge
Review of HP 45 - print cartridge by
richard_richard
Advantages: Print quality, ease of use
Disadvantages: Too expensive
...This print cartridge is designed for use with the Hewlett Packard P 700, 800, 900 and 1100 series of Deskjet printers. We have a couple of 840C printers at my work place and we get through a fair amount of these HP45 cartridges!
The HP45 is a black ink cartridge with a 42ml capacity. The lifespan on this cartridge will vary greatly according to the printing mode and resolution used on the printer.
This toner will retail at around the £20-£22 mark depending on which supplier you use.
The cartridge comes in a small cardboard package. It is held in place by a cardboard surround that can sometimes be a bit of a battle to remove, depending on which way up you open the packaging!
In Use
To make the cartridge ready for fitting into the printer, you first need to remove a plastic strip from the bottom of the cartridge...

HP Photosmart 7260 Inkjet Printer Review
Review of HP PhotoSmart 7260 by
Igloo_Vindaloo
Advantages: Small, Card Readers, Nice prints, Good Value
Disadvantages: Paper jams, Lack of borderless A4 printing, costly cartridges
...have seen figures for the 5150 of 3.1p (4.5c) per mono page, and 9.4p (13c) per colour page. It claims to produce 125 photos (10x15cm) from a photo cartridge, but presumably this would also use a colour cartridge up. This would put the ink costs at 34p (48c) per photo. Compatible and remanufactured cartridges are obtainable, but still quite hard to find, and nearly as expensive as original HP ones. And I've not tried refilling the cartridges yet. But you've got to try to deprive the printer manufacturers' of this income to discourage them from using this ridiculous marketing model. And then there's the paper costs... For borderless 6x4" photos, you'll need paper with a special tab. HP charge 30p/photo just for this.
Overall, I'm quite pleased with the HP Photosmart 7260 and would recommend it for light-moderate users wanting to print...

The HP 4215 for buisness and personal use
Review of HP OfficeJet 4215 by
jusbowers
Advantages: Covers all of the printing needs for a small office
Disadvantages: The print quality whilst very good is not as good as my dedicated laser printer!
...When my existing fax machine needed refilling I discovered that it was cheaper to replace the machine than to get a new printer roll.
I chose the HP Officejet 4215 because it performs all of the tasks I need in a small accountancy office whilst not taking up a lot of space on my desk it is also easy to source consumables for it as both original and remanufactured items.
I especially liked that the copy and fax facilities are stand alone as i dont always have my computer online and some clients like to fax me in the late evening when i am not in the office to manually receive them to the pc.
I run my own accountancy business and for several years have been using a separate equipment for copying, faxing, scanning and printing because I have found that on the whole a dedicated machine gives better quality results even though...

-- Anything Else!
Ah, something I totally forgot to talk about which is the Cartridge, so here is it
• Toner Cartridge (sorry I forgot)
The printer can take the cartridge C3906A which is available (thanks god) until this moment. You can buy it on the net or you can buy it simply from a store nearby if you know one. Its price is in the range of £45 to £60 as I know.
The HP LaserJet C3906A Print Cartridge is ideal for business or home users who need professional-quality laser output. It is designed together to work together with the HP LaserJet 5L and 6L Series printers, and the HP LaserJet 3100 and 3150 printer/fax/copier/scanner. It can print up to 6,000 standard pages.

Printing for Dummies
Review of HP OfficeJet T45 by
RainDance
Advantages: Love the multifunction capabilities and ease of use.
Disadvantages: Size
...I purchased the Hewlett Packard OfficeJet T45 about a year ago. The price was one that couldn't be beat at $250. I was looking for a multifunctional machine to use at home and I had always trusted the HP name, so I gave the T45 a try.
The HP T45 is a printer, copier, fax machine and scanner all in one. Set up for this machine is pretty self explanatory and very easy. Although the size of this machine is very large. So if you are considering buying one, you might want to purchase a small filing cabinet to set it on unless of course you have a large desk.
This HP T45 offers a front loading tray for all of your fax, scanning, and copy needs. It can hold up to 20 pages for this option. The T45 also has a front slide out tray for printing paper and envelopes. Since the T45 is an ink jet printer, you load both the color and the black...

CD STORAGE MADE VERY VERY EASY BY HP
Review of HP CD-Writer Plus 8210e by
fairypancakes
Advantages: fast,simple,easy,good price
Disadvantages: none so far
...them at a later date, and then wipe the CD ready to be used again. Now Hewlett Packard have a process known as, HP Fast Format, meaning that to whip a CD can take only 45 seconds, and believe me I have times this against other manufactures, which could take around 20 minutes to complete!
Hewlett Packard has done a great job, and I really get on well with this drive. It’s easy simple and quick use, and not very expensive to. To get start you are even supplied with 2 disks, 1 CD-RW and 1 CD-R.
The HP Website also offers an unbeatble support site, this really makes the difference between diffrent makes of drives. Constantly there are free driver and software updates to improve your writers ability.
Unfortunately with the CD-R technology, many problems have arisen, software piracy means that home users are creating working copies...

This HP is a saucey little number
Review of HP Deskjet 3940 by
christianfilmcritic
Advantages: Cheap, effective
Disadvantages: low cartridge capacity, feed tray problems
...Having had my old HP Deskjet 930c printer for a few years, I was getting more and more fed up of buying printer cartridges that were nearly as expensive as buying a new printer. Not only that, the printer had suffered a lot of abuse over the years and it was becoming prone to numerous paper jams. So, with a few spare pounds in my back pocket I decided to search out a cheap alternative, where upon I came across the HP Deskjet 3940 colour printer for under £40.
The Look
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is a very compact printer which, with a height of less then 15 cm and a depth of just 18 cm, will fit into many small gaps. The main body of the machine is a very pale grey, with the centre lift up lid being nearly white. At the bottom left hand side is the power on switch, which lights up green when in use, and in the middle is the paper loading...

Will HP be waiting on the Pavilion?
Review of HP Pavilion dv6000t by
iamasadlittleboy
Advantages: Speedy, solid, reliable, HP
Disadvantages: A budget laptop
...Well the Acer packed in and with the warranty the store gave us credit (apparently the Acer that we had had become obselete and there was none in stock). So with the £400 or so store credit my mother wisely (and under her own guidance as far as I know) picked the HP Pavilion DV6000 (as far as I'm aware theirs no difference between this and the T model though if there is, I'm sorry). Quite why My mother (darling mother of mine) decided to ever get the pile of fecial matter that Acer claimed was a laptop I was never quite to sure, as everything in it came to peices, the keys flew off, the screen was...well dead, the AV charge wire was..erm..well dead too. Why couldn't she have gone after a real solid, well worked peice of kit like this first time round Im not sure.
So HP's...what do I think of them?
Well I'd basically take a bricky out...
