I'm going to just go ahead and state it right at the beginning - this is some excellent memory. It's fast (800mhz), it has lower timings (4-4-4-12), it's reliable, and it's very cheap. You can pick the 2GB set of two modules up from £35 anywhere now, which is a phenomenally low price. That's really the hallmark of this product - low price, high quality. At the moment, unless you're running games in Windows Vista, there's really no need to have 4GB of memory; even the most demanding game you can run won't use more than 2GB RAM. ...the pentium 4 tho as i got a very good deal plus i didnt know much about the new PENTIUM D but im glad i chose the PENTIUM 4 as i could tell straight away it was noticeabley faster compared against my older AMD processor running at 2.06 ghz . ...well when i bought my new rig 5 months ago i spent a small fortune on the graphics card so started looking for some good priced and branded ram with good timings i stumbled upon the geil ram and it looked perfect i purchased the GeIL Value Dual Channel 2 GB DDR SDRAM kit and i now run itin my new box on an asus a8r-mvp motherboard with a 3.5 64 bit chip in it. my rig is mainly used for gaming hence the need for a good graphics card and good ram this ram has performed very well in both dual and single channel mode currently i am running it in dual channel mode and combined with the rest of the pc i can run battlefiled 2 at max settings with no lag and still achieve 90 fps overall for the money you cannot go wrong with this ram the heatsinks on it look good and do work well.... ...GEIL stands for Golden Empire Industries Limited. They use Samsung RAM that they repackage and test for you. There are only three companies in the whole world that make RAM and lots that repackage it. GEIL is one of them. You can get this type of RAM in 533Mhz form all the way up to 1000MHz form, and it seems excellent. I'm currently using two of these 1Gb sets and have found that they are both responsive and cool. They do not overheat like some RAMs and came well packaged and well presented. Well, this will obviously depend on other components inside your PC such as type of RAM (SDRAM, DDR or Rambus) and which application/game you are running, no two persons may see similar results unless using identical setups and for this reason alone i dont feel it is fair to refer to benchmarks as such as this will only serve to show you what my personal PC is capable of and be of little use to you, needless to say tho that i upgraded from a P4 1.7 Willamette socket 478 to my current P4 2.4B... The way I found out the type of RAM my PC took was simple, I looked at the invoice. On it, it stated '2x512MB DDR400 RAM'. This means I had 2 sticks of 512MB over one stick of 1GB. 2x512MB costs less than 1x1GB. Many computers only allow 2 sticks of RAM to be in at once, so I would recommend you open up you machine and look if you have any RAM slots free, look at the pictures to see what they look like. RAM itself is very small, and is less tall than an A5 sheet of paper, and about an inch wide. It is easy to install, you simply pull a little catch, slot it in, and push the catch.
