PROBABLY THE QUIETEST MACHINE I HAVE EVER SEEN
Review of Miele W 1514 by
jonnydeppontv
Advantages: QUIET, LOOKS GOOD - WASHES WELL
Disadvantages: NOTHING!
...over the pre-programmed version.
With a 1400 max spin - it is excellent - my previous one had 1600 but I really can't tell the difference.
The Miele has a 5kg drum - its not the version with the Honeycomb drum which helps with reducing 'plugs' on clothes - its a microhole drum.
It has an energy efficiency rating of A+ with Wash at A and Spin at B. Its water consumption is 42litres - which is good. The electricity consumption is 0.85kwh which is unbelievably low compared to others out there on the market so to me its a good environmentally friendly machine.
With 6 spin levels from 400 to 1400rpm and a rinse hold and no spin option I thought this was better than my previous machine as that had 5 levels upto 1600 rpm.
With an easy dial control and nice slimline display I felt it looked good = even with the quirky large door...

My Marvelous Miele
Review of Miele S381 Light BLUE by
mrbonner
Advantages: Quiet, Excellent hardfloor cleaning, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Not so great on pet hair, eats bags!!
...on & the machine doesnt jolt when switched on. I find a noisey vacuum very annoying & the Miele has not bothered me in the slightest.
BAGS & FILTERS
The bags don't seem to last very long. The machine does have a bag full indicator. I never wait for this to come on because by the time it does the suction has dropped below a level i find accepable. Three weeks is the longes i have gone without changing the bag. The bags are made of a thick white quilted material. A packet of five dust bags cost £5.99 from John Lewis & a filter was included. They are no more expensive than my old vacuum bags but Miele would do well to offer a reusable washable cloth bag as on option. Something which alot of vacuum manufacturers are offering on much lower priced machines
Being a low end model it has the most basic filtration. It is called active air clean filter...

Dyson a problem?..here's the Miele Solution
Review of Miele Solution HEPA 5000 by
cootuk
Advantages: Miele quality and longevity
Disadvantages: Price
...I originally bought into the Dyson story, though have never been greatly impressed by my DC05. The build quality appears lacking with the hose connectors being rather fragile imho, and cleaning power not being too great.
I already have a Miele washing machine and can vouch for the quality engineering in that. I therefore decided to replace my decrepid DC05 with a Miele. Miele have recently revamped their range with a higher power motor (up to 2200W). Being a man I'm all for extra horsepower! The new models are slowly starting to appear on the shop floor (mine was from John Lewis).
The Miele range seems quite confusing in terms of specs until you realise it is all based on a few things.
1) Power
2) Colour of unit
3) air filter (Hepa, S-class etc)
4) number of accessories included.
Some models allow you to upgrade the air filter...

Clean up with Miele S 380
Review of Miele S 380 by
brittle1906
Advantages: Quiet running & easy to use
Disadvantages: Not up to tougher cleaning
...hoovering session.
**Specifications**
As I have stated this is a fairly basic model, however the price tag is not, at a RRP of £99, I do not consider this product to be worth anything close to that figure. I had a Vax bag less machine previously which was just as efficient and cost a third of the price. Naturally, Internet research on price comparison sites will undoubtedly throw up lower prices than the £94 I paid from amazon.
The Miele S 380 has a variable power function sited on the handle to regulate the suction level. This is basically a sliding opening. The overall structure is robust, with two interconnecting stainless steel tubes and a flexible plastic hose. The brushes are sturdy, the product is easy to set up and very well made. The length of the hose is absolutely perfect for me, I am tall, 5 feet 9, whether this would...

Miele is miles better
Review of Miele S 5210 by
pompey_jon
Advantages: Powerful, buld quality compact, reliable
Disadvantages: Requires bags, manoureavbility
...Having moved into a new house we decided to ditch our old Vax vacuum and purchase a replacement.
Being the type of person I am I looked at the options available. After some initial product screening I decided to concentrate on Miele or a Dyson. I was able to test drive a Dyson DC08 and a Miele S5210 before purchasing.
I found the carpet cleaning performance of the Miele to be far superior and it felt as if it had much better all-round pickup. This was true for dust, hair and general carpet fluff! I would say that Hardwood/tile cleaning for both was level pegging.
Reliability was also a factor in my decision. Miele have an excellent brand reputation and offer a 2-year guarantee to back this up. They do state that the vacuum is designed for a lot longer operation than this.
When looking at the quality of S5210 the Miele I...

Disappointed with Miele
Review of Miele K2318 by
Reviewer2005
Advantages: Looks lovely and is very spacious
Disadvantages: Doesn't work correctly
...'t put off, and opted for another Miele fridge. It was, in fact, the same in design as this one. The only difference was the model name and it's width which was about 554mm.
Again we went to John Lewis to order and the fridge came. The new appliance buzz you get wasn't quite the same because the internal fridge looked exactly the same as the old one. Nevermind. So much space, even with the decreased width because no ice.
Anyway........our problems started again. The temperature wouldn't maintain. I had to have the maximum setting to keep it to 5 or 6 degrees (and the weather wasn't that hot). I was too nervous to keep the baby milk in there.
Before the week was up I'd contacted John Lewis and we exchanged the fridge for an AEG which has so far been brilliant.
A difficult purchase as there isn't a great deal at 550mm width...

One man and his Miele
Review of Miele S 712 by
adon30
Advantages: Superb suction, adjustable for different surfaces, robust feel
Disadvantages: No HEPA filter, Suction can be too strong, bags(?)
....
I found a site that I could get 5 boxes for £33 (inc postage) That worked out at a cost of £1.32 each and should easily last five years. A single box of 5 was £8 (inc postage).
The change itself was simple. Flip up the front panel and slide the old bag out. The bags have a plastic clip on them so all you need to do is slide the new one into the holder on the Miele and close the lid. Simple :)...

Miele magic
Review of Miele W526 by
lollie67
Advantages: Superbly built, long guarantee
Disadvantages: small loading drum
...over 5 times a week I told her I mostly use it 5 times a day! Happily I found Miele were so confident of their machine they were at that time giving a free 5 year guarantee which included at home repair as well as all parts.
I've been using this machine for well over a year now and I am still very, very impressed. The inside of the drum is metal - not that nasty plastic you find in cheaper machines. It feels smooth and well made and clothes don't catch, or snag inside. The whole machine is really very heavy (I can't move it at all) and when the cycle is running there is virtually no shake, rattle or roll whatsoever. Miele's manual actually advises you to give the door a good slam. After years fiddling with flimsy plastic catches on other machines the Miele door makes a reassuring 'thunk' when you swing the door closed! Much like...

MIELE, MIELE, MIELE, OI OI OI
Review of Miele W435 WPS by
SUPERSPUD
Advantages: Quiet, 'Time Left' display
Disadvantages: Expensive
...Well I never thought I would find myself being all enthusiastic about a washing machine! I would hardly describe myself as a domestic goddess!
Although this machine is incredibly expensive (mine cost approx £700, I would say the 10 year guarantee is worth that on it's own!) it is absolutely worth the money, in my opinion. After having nothing but trouble with Hotpoint machines (not to mention their stroppy engineers) I decided to invest in a Miele. WHAT AN INVESTMENT!
Having 3 children my washing machine gets a massive amount of use which is no problem for the Miele.
The noise that comes from the machine is so minimal that if it wasn't for my youngest son standing in front of the machine circling his head round along with the drum I would forget it was on. Gone are the days of my machine hopping it's way along...

Me and My Miele
Review of Miele K2214S by
delawney
Advantages: Sexy, energy efficient, mine
Disadvantages: Little more expensive than other fridges
..., separate ones.
So for the first time I got my own fridge.
I knew what I wanted. I wanted something that would have as good an energy rating as possible, would have plenty of space for all those lovely veggies I like to eat, that would be easy to clean, would display the temperature and would be reliable.
Enter the Miele K 2214 S. It's energy rating is A, which is as good as you can get. This means it will use near the minimum necessary electricity - thus saving you money and being good for the environment.
It's a fairly standard size fridge and will probably fit in the majority of standard fridge-sized spaces. It is not slimline.
When it arrived, getting it out of it's packaging was fairly awkward - it's a big old thing, you know - but no more than you would expect for an item of its size. Turning it on for the first time...
