Targus Ultra Mini 4-Port USB Hub
Review of Targus Ultra Mini Hub - hub - 4 ports by
matt_fantastic
Advantages: Funky glowing lights
Disadvantages: Cheaper "clones" are available
...I bought the Targus Ultra Mini 4-Port USB Hub as I have more USB items than USB sockets on my laptop docking station.
Its compact dimensions (width 9.5 cm, depth 4 cm, height 1.5 cm, weight 40 g)and included USB connection cable allow it to fit anywhere on the desk, and its four USB 2.0 ports (480Mbps data transfer) allow rapid connection to all sorts of peripherals. It's also backward compatible with older USB 1.1 devices, and Apple devices I believe, too.
Installation (with Windows XP SP2) is a doddle, with no drivers aor anything to install, just plug it in, wait a few seconds while Windows does its stuff, and we're off. Connecting USB peripherals previously connected directly prompts Windows to repeat its "Found New Hardware" business, but this takes just a few seconds.
When peripherals are connected, the plastic around...

How Mini can you get?
Review of SanDisk Cruzer Mini - USB flash drive - 512 MB by
kooldavy
Advantages: Lots of Space
Disadvantages: None Really
...This is indeed a mini USB stick! With 512MB its the best UBS Stick I have had in years!
The measurements are about 700mm x 200mm x 70mm these measurements are lower compared to most USB Sticks.
Like other USB flash drives it requires no drivers for plug and play except for Windows 98 Second Edition.
It is create for storing photos, videos, music, documents and all the file you may need at school or the office. I have used this device for ages for transfering files between computer for backup and for work purposes! Its very handly no more floppy disks for me! Less chance of these device corrupting than a floppy and its more quick and easy to work with.
Minimum System Requirements are:
• Pentium PC or Macintosh computer with USB support
• Windows 98SE, 2000, ME, XP
• Mac OS 9.1.x+, OS X v10.1.2+
• USB 2.0 port...

Kingston Mini Fun, Massive Storage
Review of Kingston DataTraveler Mini Fun - USB flash drive - 2 GB by
The_Reviewer1980
Advantages: Compact, 2gb memory impressive, Good transfer speeds, Looks very trendy
Disadvantages: Wont fit on my keyring
...The Kingston mini fun pen drive is quite simply awesome. It looks very cool and trendy and really is Mini, Amazing to think it can hold 2gb really. The drive itself is around about the length of a standard Enter key or + key on a keyboards number pad. I would say approx 3cm but i'm not great at judging length (Insert your own innuendo here).
The drive is as you would expect for a USB drive very simple to use, Quite simply plug and play. The transfer rates are good and the build on the drive seems nice and solid.
The only drawback I could say about it is that although it is very much sold as a "You can simply attach this to your keyring" product, The keyring that I have wont actually fit through the hole and so I can't actually put it on my keyring. In all honesty though thats not an issue for me but something that maybe you...

USB fan for when its warm
Review of Trust Mini USB Fan NB-1200p by
coopsta133
Advantages: Cools you down nicely, Design looks nice, its cheap
Disadvantages: useless in the winter- hehe
...Ok, what will they come up with next in the line of USB gadgets... ooooo a fan... A bit pointless it seems but I got it anyway as it looked fun. Sure as expected it is a bit silly but the wind power it gives off isn't too bad.
The one end goes into a USB slot- perhaps get a extender to reach the top of your monitor or a laptop is fine. Then I have mine stuck on top of the monitor using a bit of tape which does the job fine. I think it is mainly designed for a laptop user in a hot country. In that case I would love it more because it does actually make you feel nice.
I play a lot of games as you may know and is it a bit sad that yeah… I do sweat playing them. Mainly because my brain is always thinking and I have to react fast. Scary situations always cause me the need to cool off… Well I have this now :)
The design is very...

Easyconnect 4 Port USB
Review of Trust EasyConnect 4 Port USB2 Mini Hub HU-4440p - hub - 4 ports by
Biggsl02
Advantages: Works straight out of the box, Easily Portable
Disadvantages: Short connection cable, Only gives you 3 more ports
...I bought this Hub for my Dell Laptop around a month ago now. It is a good product, and was particuarly easy to install. It works straight out of the box and the computer installs the drivers for you, so there is no need to install any extra software. I dont receive any noticable performance drop of something that is connected through the HUB, although my Wireless mouse which uses a USB connection is for some reason not recognized when used through the Hub. This could be a problem with the mouse, although I have had no problems with it so far (It is a Logitech v500 Cordless mouse). I would recommend the product for someone who is running out of USB ports on a Laptop computer, although I think there are better products out there if portability is not a factor (ie a Desktop computer). Another point worthy of note is that it has a very short...

USB is for me
Review of Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub - hub - 4 ports by
sit2020
Advantages: Have plenty of USB ports at any time
Disadvantages: Can be a bit of a pain when it comes to the power supply.
...the transformer.
On the top and directly over the USB sockets are LED's that tell me when any of the USB sockets are in use and another LED that tells me if it is connected to the transformer.
How easy is it to use?
I found it very easy to set up and use, first I plugged the connector lead into a spare USB socket on the back of my PC, then I plugged the other end into the USB hub. The next step was to plug the transformer into the mains and the corresponding pin into the socket on the USB hub.
What can it be used for?
I have used this for plugging in scanners, printers, mass-storage devices (including a PSP), web cam, a mouse, high-resolution cameras and USB hard drives.
The list does not end there, also you can add flash card readers, Blue tooth adapters, pen drives, basically anything that has a USB connection can be plugged...

I don't trust Trust (Trust USB Light)
Review of Trust Mini USB Light NB-1150p by
jeaniecz
Advantages: Looks.
Disadvantages: Light, clip.
...The first of my USB lights, which made me realize those things probably aren't supposed to do the job I had expected them to. It's small, cheap, looks good and cute, but I found it useless. The cable is way too short and the clip cannot be attached to the laptop's lid side without risking the screen getting scratched, so the only stabile and safe position is on the top of the lid.
I always got the light's reflection on the screen which bothered me, so the light was in the way of the screen and at the same time it wasn't strong enough to illuminate the keyboard satisfactorily. I didn't think it should be like a 4OWatt bulb, but this just wasn't enough. The beam which does reach the keyboard is a size of a Pringles crips, the rest sinks in darkness.
You will find it annoying also if your laptop has USB ports only on sides, coz...

Sony MZN 710 MiniDisc Player.
Review of Sony MZN710 Net MD portable MiniDisc recorder by
dottymardon
Advantages: Small, Compact, Looks great and its a Sony
Disadvantages: Low earphone volume
...more than adequate for casual listening.
If storage efficiency is your main objective, you can finally use the maximum compression rate (LP4) to squeeze in as much as 320 minutes worth of recordings onto each disc. The sound quality is no longer really suitable for music but still pretty decent for other recordings, for instance lectures or conferences.
NetMD
The N710 is a so called NetMD player, which means that you can connect the unit to your PC via USB and transfer CD-audio, MP3, WMA and WAV files to your discs using the included SonicStage 1.5 software. The software, while not always being absolutely intuitive, works perfectly and I haven't experienced any crashes or any other strange behavior yet.
SonicStage also doubles quite effectively as an audio jukebox. If you wish, you can thus transfer your entire CD...

Excellent USB Headphones with microphone
Review of Sennheiser PC 155 USB Headset by
el-em
Advantages: Comfortable, good quality sound, excellent microphone
Disadvantages: Bit bulky for my laptop bag
...cardboard box any day - easier to get into and environmentally friendly!
Documentation was sparse, but then who needs volumes of manual for a pair of headphones. OK, so they are USB and PC attached, which may start to worry those who are not technically inclined and who need some support of a good manual.
Fortunately, Sennheiser have mastered Plug and Play. These are truly the best plug-and-play device I have ever installed.
The headphones have a small USB widget inline between standard mini jacks for audio and microphone and a USB plug. This small box is a USB soundcard.
I popped the USB plug into an available USB socket, and Windows XP popped up, whirred for a bit and told me my new Audio device was ready for use. That was it ... no CD, no downloads, no "This driver has not passed testing". Windows was even smart enough to set...
