...Having had to configure one of these for my girlfriend in the last few weeks I thought I'd give my impressions of the 5th Generation iPod Nano as I see it.
The new 5th Generation Nano is very much like the 4th Generation Nano in style... in fact a casting glance from the front and you couldn't tell the difference. What is different is the screen is 0.2" larger, and by that I mean taller? Or should that be longer... I guess it all depends on how your holding your Nano but we'll come back to that later.
On the reverse side of the Nano you'd expect nothing as with the 4th Gen Nano, but no at the bottom edge there is a tiny little cmos camera, capable of recording at 640x480, ironically it can't stake still images but can do little video clips. This I assume is to compete with the new solid state memory pocket sized video camera...
Advantages: bigger story, more to devour than before Disadvantages: still not quite enough happening to keep me hooked

Advantages: very good for soles Disadvantages: too heavy for skating vert
...Roces "5th elements" area great pair of inline skates. I paid £300 for my pair, now you may think that is quite expensive, but really that's not a lot as inline skates no cost a lot of money. This pair of skates has lasted me from September 1998 to today!
They are very agressive skates and it is very easy to do tricks on poles and curbs. I find a topside X grind very easy on theses skates as they have a lot of sole room. However, there is one catch to these almost perfect skates! It is quite hard to skate on ramps as they are quite heavy, so if you are in to vert skating these are not for you!
I have come to the conclusion that these are very good skates and are well worth the money you spend on them. I would buy another pair and reccomend them to anybody who is into aggressive inline skating....

Review of Roces 5th Element
Advantages: Excellent sound quality, fairly attractive design. Disadvantages: Very poor video quality, clicker wheel tends to get stuck, Apple software is very annoying.
...Having broken my very long lasting, sturdy 5th Gen (or something, can't quite remember) iPod Video, I decided to buy a new iPod.
Personally, I'm getting quite sick of all the new updates, and constant obsoletion of software by Apple.
That aside, I bought a new 16GB iPod Nano, in blue.
When I came to put music on it, I was mildly irritated with the Apple software: I downloaded the newest version, and then it decided not to work, forcing me to spend another hour trying to install it. I was quite impressed with the new 'Genius' feature at first, only to be annoyed on discovering you have to use it with iTunes store.
After installing music etc, I have to say that I was impressed with the sound quality; Apple does have a very good reputation in this department.
The product is very lightweight and does have a good new feature allowing users...
Advantages: Price is great, Fabulous new features, same great shape. Disadvantages: Still at a max of 16GB, and thats my only qualm.
...OK, I'm a Nano addict. My obsession started with a 2GB nano 2nd generation, and has really just progressed from there. Now I hold in my hand the new 5th generation Nano, 16GB, in purple, and engraved on the back with the words "Please Steal My Phone Instead", as a plea to any potential muggers out there, because no other gadget I have really comes close to this. So lets take a look at whats new:
The Body
I thought the finish on the 4th gen model was as good as it gets, but this new look is sleeker, shinier, and apparently even more durable. The size and shape of the iPod is exactly the same as the previous model (possibly they've finally perfected that), but the metal is shinier, and somehow feels much better in the hand. As for the screen... well, its bigger. Its taller anyway, but not wider. This is an OK new feature but not mind...
...See The Packaging
The iPod came in a plastic, rectangular container with a rounded clear plastic lid, so you can see the iPod. Stored underneath the white card are the standard white Apple headphones and the USB connector to connect to a PC/laptop. It also includes an instructions booklet. The packaging is very simple and plain, but sophisticated.
iLike The Design!
These 5th Generation iPods have a new polished, anodised aluminium finish and come in a number of different colours...
* Silver
The silver iPod is the most classic design, in my opinion it looks the most 'professional' and the least 'fun'. However it is very nice, and it is the only Nano with a black click wheel.
* Purple
My youngest sister received this colour and I think it is lovely, a very deep purple.
* Blue
This is the colour iPod I have received, and I love it! I don...
Advantages: Keeps me informed about the car Disadvantages: I keep getting a fuzzy picture!
...getting a rather loyal fan base – Top Gear’s fan base.
But, rather surprisingly, I turned on Channel 5 by chance (I honestly don’t watch the channel – HONEST!), and caught glimpse of some cars. Of course I kept it on, only for the Top Gear regulars to come on bragging about their new show on Channel 5, named 5th Gear (what a clever play on words). Once again, Channel 5 snapping up any opportunity for ratings (Home and Away for example)
Having been a Top Gear fan for a while, I tuned in for the show on a Monday, at 8.00pm expecting a show, which mimicked Top Gear. To be honest, I wasn’t far off.
In a similar introduction sequence, I was greeted with a set-up, not too dissimilar from it’s predecessor – quick fire introduction sequence, with fast cars mainly, the ‘what’s coming up...

Review of 5th Gear
Advantages: Another great story involving a hotel fire and an unidentified body. Disadvantages: May have to read the previous books to get a good feel for the characters.
... The Inspector Rebus series
The Black Book is the 5th book in the Inspector Rebus series written by Ian Rankin and it lives up to the quality we expect from the books in this series.
I have been slowly making my way through the Inspector Rebus series in order, and I am thoroughly enjoying each book.
Ian Rankin's first Rebus novel, Knots & Crosses, was first published in 1987 and the Rebus books are now translated into several languages and have grew in popularity in the states. The series in set in Edinburgh, where Rankin lives, and he always manages to bring the city to life in his books, this one being no exception, and showing the reader the darker sides to the city that the tourists never see.
The Plot
In The Black Book a close friend and colleague of Rebus has been brutally attacked which is when Rebus discovers...
Advantages: Decent direction, good cast, amazing special effects Disadvantages: Script is a little weak, but considering the reputation it had to life up to not suprising

While I was quite keen to see the latest Wachowski movie there was a part of me that thought I'd end up comparing it to The Matrix and that's exactly what happened. In its own right V is a reasonably good film and makes for an enjoyable nights viewing. It did seem though that a part of me just couldn't get passed the writers previous outing and I ended up running comparisons between the two. As an Sci Fi Action film I thought that V had a reasonable script, the acting was pretty good and it worked well but it just seemed to be lacking something in particular that I just couldn't place.
This is the first time that James McTeigue had stepped...
