Abit VT6X4 and its Via Apollo Pro 133A chipset

Advantages: 133MHz FSB support, 1/2 AGP divider, stable, inexpensive

...I would like to share my experiences of the Abit VT6X4 slot 1 motherboard and its VIA Apollo Pro 133A chipset. In the past I have always used boards with an Intel chipset in my own machines. As my PC is important for work and study as well as for play, stability has always been an influencing factor. With the VT6X4, Abit have implemented stability in the VIA chipset. The CPU I am using is a Slot 1 Intel Pentium 3 733MHz (133MHz FSB) chip, which I picked up second hand very inexpensively as an upgrade to my Celeron 366 (overclocked to 550). The P3 is a fast and stable chip - it runs pretty cool for a 733MHz CPU. The VIA chipset is not the fastest solution available; those who lust for those extra frames per second in Quake 3 should consider an overclocked Intel BX chipset solution - the BX chipset doesn't support a 1/2 AGP...

Verbatim DVD+RW 4X never fail

Advantages: reliable, every disc works, long shelf life

...I bought the first batch of Verbatim DVD+RW from Amazon in 2004 and then bought some more in 2006 from DigiUK.com. Reliability They are used as re-writable disc for temporarily storing holiday photos, documents, electronic statements/bills etc until nearly a DVD full --> burn into DVD+/-R disc. Also, they are temporary recording of TV programmes using my DVD recorder. Most of them are used regularly since 2004. Almost 5 years on none of them shows any sign of failure. Everything is still retrievable e.g. one directory of my photos taken back in Dec 2004 and stored in a pair of them (double backup) are still okay. I can copy all the photos to my PC and still can see them (both discs tried to make sure). Therefore these discs can last for more than 4 years from the date of purchase, with the date of manufacture well before...

...Avid reader.... You will of course know my style by now, and understand that I get a little overenthusiastic about the toys that I buy. However... This time I waited a while before writing my review, but can still say that this IS a FANTASTIC car! Let's start with why you should buy the Imported Pajero rather than it's English cousin the Shogun... First you have to understand *why* there are so many Pajero's in the UK. This started back in the early nineties when the only decent 4x4's you could get were imports (other than Land Rover/Range Rover's), and normally an imported car would need 'conversion' to the UK (e.g. Swapping over of the steering wheel to the correct side etc.) This is not the case with a Pajero, as the Japanese drive on the same side of the road as us! Advantages: Latest Release of Mac OS X; Cheap for those upgrading from Leopard
Disadvantages: No support for PPC processor (which is understandable, however)

For those upgrading from Tiger to Snow Leopard its recommended to have a minimum of 1GB of memory (I got my core solo 2006 mac mini upgraded to 2GB). The major differences from Tiger to Snow Leopard is Spaces (multiple instances of the desktop, so you can have one space for Safari windows, and another for iChat windows - and you can go from space to space by pressing the Control key and moving to whatever space you like. By default you have 4 spaces. You'll need to activate this in System Preferences).
