Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 200
Review of Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 200 by
nick.simms
Advantages: Abilty to run computers of a single monitor
Disadvantages: very deep and heavy so make sure you work desk is sturdy
...After having this monitor for about 6 months now i cant say a bad word against it.
With the ability to run two separate computer systems off a single monitor is a great advantage when you workspace is limited. This is just a simple matter of plunging in the right connector on the back ( A or B) and with a simple press of a small button you are able to change between displays.
The sweet spot for this monitor is 1,600 x 1,200 at 85Hz and is the resolution that i personal recommend you use.
There are 5 button located on the front of the monitor one for power, one for display signal and 4 for the on screen display (OSD), this make it very simple for anyone to use.
The OSD is very simple to use and offers a lot of options so you can tailor the display to just how you like it...

Multifunction with attitude
Review of Hewlett-Packard G55 by
stevebrowne
Advantages: Multifunction, good quality, standalone photocopier
Disadvantages: No Windows 2000 drivers!
...the same options that are already available to Windows 98 users. That includes all of the normal print options, but also the ability to scan directly into applications.
The quality is much much better than my previous printer. Some prints come out *almost* colour laser quality - and that's on plain photocopier paper, not special inkjet paper.
Overall I would recommend it, but would advise Windows 2000 users to wait until the proper drivers are ready.
Specs:
2400x1200 colour at 10ppm
600x600 black at 12ppm
600x3600dpi scanning (up to 9600dpi enhanced)...

gt5952
Advantages: Fast, great features, easy to use
Disadvantages: probably wouldnt last too long in a chaotic world
...The Samsung SCX - 4200 is a Colour scanner, and black laser printer.
It can photocopy, scan, direct print from USB, as well as take direct feed for paper and envelopes. With both efficiency and durability, this little baby is a top class product that I can see lasting for some time to come.
Its well thought out design, and ease of use, makes it an ideal choice for those wanting top quality results, without the hasstle of a chaotic layout.
It can Print and copy up to 600 x 600 dpi. Scan in color at up to 600 x 2400 dpi optical, and up to 4800 x 4800 dpi enhanced.
The SCX-4200 features a 250-sheet multipurpose tray, a 50-sheet output capacity and a 4,000-page monthly duty cycle.

Possibly the Printer Bargain of the Century
Review of APOLLO P-2100U by
james68
Advantages: CHEAP! Good colour and monochrome printing quality. Fairly quick.
Disadvantages: Barely satisfactory colour photos (but what do you expect for £30!)
...probably invest a little more on a printer capable of higher dpi (dots per inch) rather than splurge on this printer's optional colour photo cartridge. The Apollo is capable of 600 x 600 dpi
at best (monochrome) and 600 x 300 dpi (colour).
The cartridges are reasonably priced, and can be easily refilled I'm told (no nasty chip to reprogram either).
Incidentally, for support and drivers (Windows 98, ME, 2000) go to:
http://www.ap-sure.com/myapollo/support/P2100U/supp2100.htm
You do not need to download additional XP drivers since they are already built-in to Windows XP. You simply plug and play....

For the money, a great scanner!
Review of Epson Perfection 610 by
ferd
Advantages: cheapish, fast, high quality
Disadvantages: TWAIN L a bit dodgy
...I bought this scanner several months back, and in general I am very happy with it.
First the good points:
600x2400 dpi optical resolution is towards the higher end for this price range.
Pricewise, its at the lower end, about £120.
Speedwise, I have read reviews in magazines proclaiming the 610 to be one of the fastest, doing a preview scan in 6 seconds. Through using it personally, it definitely is no slouch!
Software packaged with it is good also, with a great document management app. (Presto Pagemanager), and also Photodeluxe 3, which is nice!
Now onto the downside. The TWAIN interface used by the 610 is a 'Lite' version compared to its bigger Perfection brothers (the 1200's). Essentially this means that there is no zoom function on the preview, which can be a hassle, and some functionality has been lost.
Again, from reading reviews...

canoscan - can u scan?
Review of Canon CanoScan FB630P by
pretzel
Advantages: very well styled, small, good software, quick.
Disadvantages: not 5 star quality scans, ocr software only trial basis.
...I was rcently in the market for a flatbed scanner and stumbled across a review in a magazine. Although the canoscan wasn't the best model on test for the money, it did well enough to interest me. (gaining a score of 71%)
The canoscan looks great and is only a third of the size of a standard flatbed. (even the most expensive ones)
It looks great, and is styled really well.
The quality of scanning is good (not 5 star, but good enough for the home/internet user) witha max resolution of 600x1200 dpi, in 32 bit.
Its also very quick, taking only 10 seconds to fully scan a photograph.
It comes with some good software (including ulead photo express) and the whole package is easy to use.
It also comes with a trial piece of OCR software (software which scans text and converts it into an editable format for your word processing program) As far...
