Most people remember the old classic Nokia 3210, quite heavy with its redeeming feature being snake. Since then Nokia has come a long way and I've had several Nokia phones in my time: the good old 3210, a 6210 which was originally intended for business and had a huge memory, a cute 6233 with a 2megapixel camera along with many other features, and finally a 6500 slide. WHY/HOW I GOT IT A couple of years ago a company called 'future phones' called me and I set up a contract with them for a 6233 on the 3 network. I previously had an LG 3 phone, which I loved, but it had broken and it was time for another. When my contract with the 6233 was about to end I was contacted again...

...After using my Nokia 6300 for around a year I decided to upgrade. I had the choice of a number of phones however opted to go for the Nokia 6500 Slide. I can see where some confusion can come from when it comes to the Nokia 6500: The Nokia 6500 Classic and Nokia 6500 Slide are two quite different phones. The classic came first and has a more traditional mobile phone layout and boasts a medicore 2.0MP camera. The slide on the other hand is the upgrade to the Classic and boasts an ultra sleek slide design with a pretty good 3.2MP camera with flash. It also comes with a front facing camera however unfortunately it can only be used while making 3G video calls and not just to take pictures. Although the phone looks very sleek and well built. I have had the phone for around a month and when I press the buttons it sometimes does not...

Nokia 6500

Advantages: Wide array of featues, good build quality, overall friendly interface, excellent call clarity.
Disadvantages: Battery life could be better, some features not implemented as well as possible.

...would still recommend the Nokia 6500 to any buyer, particularly those who have been missing out on a number of newer features. The problems I have encountered may be mildly irritating at the time but they only slightly detract from an otherwise very good product....

...After recently getting rid of my old Orange contract and moving to O2 I decided to get a new phone as well. After much deliberation I decided on the Nokia 6500 slide in black. I could have got the silver phone at a much cheaper price but I decided that the black one looked too good to turn down. First Impressions If you look at the phone from a top down view you will see that the screen is quite big. Infact it is 2.2 inches which is fairly big. Below the screen are four buttons as well as 4 directional buttons in silver. The bottom two buttons are the main calling buttons. The one on the bottom left is the green "call" button which is used to dial a number you've typed in or look at the recent call list. The one on the bottom right is the "end call" button which ends calls and, when in the menu, takes you back to the home screen...

...Nokia 6500s is a great phone with easy navigation, good look and not to forget an excellent camera quality with a 3.2 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera. I have had this phone for quite a few months and I would have to say, although it has similar features to previous Nokia phones, it is still a good phone. Advantages of this phone are that it has a brilliant camera, the phone itself is easy to use, has wide range of features including a 3.2MP camera, video recoder, a music player, radio, web, games and applications, and more. ...I just got the nokia 6500 slide phone a week ago at phones4u. To be honest I normally loooove Soni Ericson phones so I wouldn't normally go for anything else. However the Nokia 6500s sleek chunky cute design caught my attention and I was hooked! This phone is adorable, its a bit chunky compared to the contemporary flat phones that have become the fashion, but I like chunky because it means I won't loose the phone and I can easily find it amongst the mass of things in my handbag. The phone is quite easy to use; this is coming from someone who is clueless when it comes to technology! If your looking for a cute easy to use phone this is a good option, however the camera is not brilliant (only 3 pixels) and the battery life is very very bad! Other than that its a pretty good phone....

...I got a Nokia 6500 slide with a monthly contract deal from 3 mobile a few months ago. I had not had a Nokia before, but obviously knew them to be one of the largest handset manufacturers, so thought I would get this one to see what I was missing out on, the truth is....not a lot really. GOOD BITS. the phone is good looking, has a solid feel to the slider mechanism, a good camera with flash. BAD BITS. Battery life is a joke, ideally, it needs to be charged every day. The phone regularly completely crashes and re-sets itself, meaning all your personal settings ie. ringtones, wallpaper etc are set back to factory settings. In sunlight, the screen actually gets darker, and more difficult to see, then gets lighter in dark circumstances, surely Nokia know this is the wrong way round?? NOKIA 6500 SLIDE, THE PHONE TO HAVE!

Advantages: it looks great and the music is very loud

...i've had the nokia 6500 slide for about 5 months and im very pleased with it, it feels and looks nice, the camera is great and has a flash which you need a lot of the time to take good photos. music is very loud and impressive and you can buy up to 8gb memory cards for it. the Nokia 6500 slide is a slide has a 3.2 megapixel camera and a LCD display. It has video calling, and MP3 player, an FM radio, expandable memory and Bluetooth. On the negative side it's heavier than averager. Also, i have heard that quite a few people are finding that their phones arrive with faults and have to be be replaced. it is available in silver or black mine is silver but i think the black one looks a lot nicer. An other problem is that it used to freeze a lot especially when the memory card was in, but then i broke the phone and took it back to the shop...

Great Nokia Phone, impressive 6500 slide.

Advantages: Stylish, well built - good quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: Few errors, sometimes crashes.

...I got this phone as an upgrade on my O2 contract from the 6300, initially when comparing, I felt the 6500 slide was quite large and heavy but after a month I feel I can comment more appropriately on all of it's features. LOOK & FEEL The phone generally looks quite stylish. I own the fully black model which I feel gives it quite a modern look, I have found quite a few people noticing the phone and questioning me on what model it is etc. At first I felt the phone was quite chunky in comparison to my older model but after a few hours it became normal and is quite nice to hold. BUTTONS I have heard how other users have had problems with the buttons on this phone but I have found them to be fine and so far have had no problems with them. I thought the buttons may be quite small and fiddley with it being a 'slide...
