Review -The Apple iPhone 3GS - An iPhone Upgrade?
Advantages: Upgraded sofware and Hardware, better camera
Disadvantages: Appearance hasn't changed, Expensive
... Apple iPhone 3GS - An iPhone Upgrade
Now I?ve heard people saying ?what is the point of Apple releasing an new iPhone when it looks exactly like the old one!? and to be honest they may have a point... If it ain?t broke, don?t fix it - right? Well no actually, while there may be very few external changes, inside it?s a different story. The 3GS has a larger CPU, more storage space, new internal compass and Apple have improved the optics for the new iPhone?s camera. These modifications coincide neatly with a leap forward in the iPhone?s system software, the release of the iPhone OS 3.0 ? which will allow features including copy and paste, tethering, landscape keyboard options for more applications and a version of Spotlight, designed specifically for the iPhone.
Appearance
As I have already mentioned, in terms...

Review of Apple iPhone 3G S (3GS)

The iPhone 3GS is a rare thing; a product that beats the hype!
Advantages: Incredibly easy to use with huge selection of quality dowloadable apps. Almost perfect...
Disadvantages: Battery life it at best acceptable
...A couple of months ago I bought an Apple iPhone 3GS 16Gb. It is my first iPhone, and also my first smart phone. I was tempted by the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G, but was put out by some key feature omissions, notably lack of MMS and voice dialling.
The iPhone is immaculately presented in a surprisingly small, well designed box. The contents comprise the iPhone, wired headphones with microphone, a short USB charging cable and a charger. The chunky instruction manual that seems to come with every other phone on the market is notably absent; there is just a concise quick start leaflet. As always with an Apple product, EVERYTHING is meticulously designed to the same high standard. The charger is very discrete and is no bigger then a standard 13amp plug, the USB cable has incredibly small connectors at either end...

Special Feature Of the 8400GS
Advantages: Can be overclocked, great for 3D design and HD ready hardware.
Disadvantages: Not good Frames per second in stock mode.
...Graphics cards are so many in todays technology oriented world. When looking to but a graphics card most people do not know what is worth looking for.
There are so many different makes and model on the market that it can become confusing to decide which make and model to buy.
I am an online gamer in my spare time. I like to tinker around with the hardware I buy to see if i can get faste speeds than it was made to run.
If you want a card that will give you gaming performance at a reasonable price then the NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS is a good choice.
these cards can be overclocked. My cards stock performance:
GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) runs at 460 MHZ (Mega Hertz)
DDR2 memory speed is 350 MHZ
Shader Clock 1112 MHZ
I have overclocked it without buying extra cooling hardware to more than what is normal and it still runs like a dream...

Welcome to the world of radio with the MVT-7100
Advantages: Small, light, all modes of reception across most of the RF spectrum from 100KHz to 1.6GHz
Disadvantages: Lack of protective case as standard in the box, needs better shielding to keep out PC/Monitor noise especially when using the PC to decode various digital modes of transmission.
...but you will need to use a different charger unless you want to endure an 18 hour charge with the supplied charger which was only designed for the 600mAH jobbies provided. The 1800mAH NiMH batteries and chargers can be ordered from Maplin or RS online ? easy to find them with the search engines.
The MVT-7100 is a small lightweight unit that gives you the capability of receiving virtually every type of voice transmission (or data transmission with the freeware off the net and use of the soundcard plugged into the earphone socket) across almost the entire radio spectrum!
Critical Points:
Images and unwanted signals
For those who may not be au fait with how conventional (superheterodyne) radios work, here is a potted teach-in with a couple of deliberate over-simplifications to promote a simple understanding.
Take two radio...

The speedy GS605
Advantages: Looks great, performs well, easily installed
Disadvantages: Gigabit networking is unavoidably expensive
...Netgears GS605 offers a stylish alternative to having gigabit Ethernet in the home. I spent a lot of time looking for a retailer who stocked this item and eventually I ended up shopping with MicroDirect after Misco sent me a GS105 (the GS605's business brother) in error. I'm quite fond of Netgears home networking equipment and my entire home network currently uses solely Netgear products.
The GS605 is the same size as all Netgears current line of home products that feature the platinum white casing. The product I obtained was silently different than advertised in that it had a silver reflective lining around the front panel instead of the traditional white used on all of the other platinum white products. The GS605 is also considerably heavier than both the DG834 router and the WG602 access point, most likely due to a greater...

Don't mock the GS500
Advantages: Great commuter - and OK for short people
Disadvantages: Some vibration and not trememdously fast if you doing a track day!
...Well there I was - over 50 years old and deciding to get into biking. Having had a CB100N around 25 years before but never done my test and having a husband into bikes - it was "if you can't beat them join them".
So got my theory and took my DAS. Now I took it on a Suzuki GS500 and therefore I felt comfortable on it so decided this was what I would buy for myself.
The GS500 is a twin cylinder, four stroke, air-cooled machine, 487 cc, with disc brakes front and rear, and of very simple design. No fancy computerised bits, no fuel warning lights, just the rev counter and speedo and basic bits and pieces. However it does have electronic ignition which is a bonus for those of us who have bruised legs in the past from kick starts!
The riding position is quite upright and the older bikes are naked though the newer F model is...

Suzuki GS125 - Learner legal fun !
Advantages: Small, light, cheap, cheap to run, comfortable
Disadvantages: low powered and parts may be harder to get
...This will be an ongoing review as I have just passed my CBT and bought one of these little commuters. The longer I own it the more I will add.
~ CBT ~
For those who don't know, anyone wishing to ride a moped or motorcycle has to sit a CBT to ride on the road. It stands for Compulsory Basic Training, if you don't pass it will be because they think you are not fit/safe to ride on road.
There are two types of bikes you can ride, a moped or a motorcycle, Majority of people learn on a bike up to the engine size of 125cc but if you are over 21 you could do it on a larger machine.
After completing my training on a Yamaha SR 125 I picked up my little Suzuki GS125 and drove it 180 miles back to my house (so this is where most of my review will come from).

At first glance it's nothing special but...

LG7100
Advantages: Attractive, Mirror Screen, Novelty Swivel Screen, Rare Phone
Disadvantages: Poor Camera, Chunky, Poor ring tones
...I've owned my LG7100 for over a year now, and am growing tired of it. When I first owned it I was intrigued by its' design and individuality, however, this didn't last long.
Functions:
External LCD/Mirror screen
Flip Phone/Clamshel design
180 degree swivel display
Java Compatible
SMS & MMS
Take continuous photos
Camera with timer
WAP
GPRS
Predictive text input
Calender
Alarm clock
Calculator
Infra Red
Games
Voice Recorder
Plus many more.....
Looks: I originally liked this phone because of its looks, it is stylish and you don't see many around. This mirror is very handy for us girls and when open there is a nice big screen and clear key pad.
Connection: My signal has always been fine with this phone. I am on vodafone which always has pretty good signal, but i have had better on different phones. But i...

Review - The Nokia N97 vs The iPhone 3GS
Advantages: Good Looking, Durable, Huge Memory, Very Very Good QWERTY keyboard
Disadvantages: Tiny processor leading to lag and application crashes
...combined with that HTC TyTN like angled screen it is perfect.
I disliked -
While the 3G connection is an annoyance I could live with it, the main issue I have with the N97 continues to frustrate me? Why are given this huge amount of memory and such a tiny processor to manage it with. This in tern leads to the other downfalls, including infuriating lag and application crashes.
Would I Buy One?
As a whole I liked the N97, despite its flaws it is the best Nokia to date. But with a sim free price of around £500 would I choose it over an iPhone? No, I'm afraid there are just too many annoying factors which need to be addressed first.
