Samsung Syncmaster 711MP

...I have recently bought this to replace a 17" CRT and have to say that overall I am very pleased with this monitor. What is it ??? The 711MP is a 17" LCD monitor with the added benefit of having a built-in TV tuner making it ideal for a bedroom or study where desk space may be tight but you want a monitor and TV. The price is £189.00 from PC World; it is always checking the price on their website. When I bought mine, the price in store was £50 more, though I simply clicked to buy online and collect from store - Same product, same store, better price! Labec headsets arent all bad it seems

...People that have read some of my reviews will remember my damning review of the Labtec Gaming Fx:1 headset and the experiences of this headset put me off buying another Labtec headset. Now you might be saying how can you do another review on a Labtec headset if you never got another one? Well the answer is I never got another one, my dad got me another one as a present :s. He didn't know all the trouble with the 1st Labtec headset but I decided to give this headset a go because it was quite a thoughtful gift and it looked like Labtec had learned their lesson with "comfortable behind the ear" style headset and made a normal headset. Classy Performer !

Advantages: Zoom, Good Looking, Digital & Optical Outs

...This is the new Phillips DVD player to replace the clunky old 710 that had the drive noise fault. It looks far better and the drive is centre mounted. The graphics menu is updated to that of the 750 and includes 3D Surround Sound from just two speakers. Sound and picture quality are excellent and it has a good parental control system. This new model has picture zoom, DTS & Truesurround. Unlike the old 710 it has both optical and digital outs. Compatability is great - it plays all discs extremely well and doesnt have problems with disc formats like other makes of player. The remote control looks neat (if a little small) and in a nutshell - the player has all the features of a classier, more expensive player but at the budget price. With a brand name like Phillips to boot - you can't go wrong with a 711 !...

An excellent player for under 200 pounds

Advantages: Dual laser which will play ANY discs
Disadvantages: None found yet

...I was badgered into getting a DVD player mostly by my kids, so I set them a challenge: If you can find a DVD that will play not only DVD/CD but CD re-writeables for under £200 then we'll get one. I sat back smugly waiting for them to draw a blank. Luckily they found the 711. It's good to look at and easy to set up / use. I chose the black finish to match the VCR and telly but I believe it's available in a silver finish as well. It has a dual laser system, so it plays any discs (including CD-RW) which a lot of players don't. The picture and sound quality are superb. It hasn't had problems playing any disc that I've tried yet (including the Matrix and Gladiator). And to top it all I've found that by using a 'One-For-All' remote I've been able to make it multi-region, so it will play discs from the States, which are a lot cheaper then here...
