Corsair DDR2 6400C4 800mhz 2GB (2x1GB pair)
Review of Corsair XMS2 DRAM 2 GB PC2-5400 by
ClockworkUniverse42
Advantages: Excellent speeds, reliable, very cheap, decent overclocking potential
Disadvantages: Slightly poor quality of heatsink
...Unfortunately the link to the Corsair XMS2 DRAM 2GB PC2-6400 C4 only goes to this page. So here's where I'll write my review!
I'm going to just go ahead and state it right at the beginning - this is some excellent memory. It's fast (800mhz), it has lower timings (4-4-4-12), it's reliable, and it's very cheap. You can pick the 2GB set of two modules up from £35 anywhere now, which is a phenomenally low price. That's really the hallmark of this product - low price, high quality.
At the moment, unless you're running games in Windows Vista, there's really no need to have 4GB of memory; even the most demanding game you can run won't use more than 2GB RAM. That's why I recommend this 2GB set to everyone I help construct computers. Not only it is fast, and so brilliant for games of all sorts, it's also cheap, so it's great for those with more...

The Best Book You Will Get This Year
Review of Apple iBook G4 - PPC G4 800 MHz - 12.1" TFT by
soulredeemer
Advantages: Portable, Reliable, Battery Life, Quiet, It's an Apple!
Disadvantages: Compatability, Heat from processor
...Apple's dominance in the computing market has been further enhanced by the opening of the new Apple Store down in London Regent Street. I actually queued up for fourteen hours before the grand opening to be one of the lucky first customers to walk into the aura of immense clapping merged with U2’s Vertigo in the background. Now back to reality… I actually bought my 12” 800 MHz iBook G4 about a year ago and Apple have since not only made it better value but also greatly improved the specifications of the machine.
Here are the current specifications of a 12” iBook G4 you could pick up off your local Apple dealer or the Apple Store.
• 1.2GHz PowerPC G4
• 512K L2 cache (at 1.2GHz)
• 12-inch TFT Display
• 1024x768 resolution
• 256MB DDR266 SDRAM
• 30GB Ultra ATA drive
• DVD/CD-RW drive
• ATI Mobility Radeon 9200
• 32MB DDR video...

Look beyond the speed
Review of ThinkPad T21 2647 - PIII 800 MHz - 14.1" TFT by
A.Smith
Advantages: Lightweight, durable, great screen
Disadvantages: Quite slow compared to newer laptops
...I'm currently sitting here writing this review on my Thinkpad T21 laptop, which is great to use.
I used to use desktops constantly and I only purchased a laptop about 8 months ago, I wasn't looking for anything lightning fast, just something for me to do work on (Microsoft Office, Browsing the Internet, etc). I decided to have a look for a low price laptop without a brilliant spec and I came across the T21.
My T21 has an 800Mhz PIII processor, 384mb RAM and a 20gb hdd, nothing spectacular in todays high-speed world but it gets the job done without any problems, it doesn't struggle to run simple applications which don't require the fastest of all processors to do a simple task.
The most outstanding feature of this laptop is definately the screen, it's the first screen I've seen on a laptop which can be viewed from most angles, it...

A great looking compact laptop for Mac lovers
Review of Apple iBook G4 - PPC G4 800 MHz - 12.1" TFT by
Vicster1784
Advantages: Great looks, performance
Disadvantages: Not Windows-based, battery life
...-devoted friends, they told me that they are quite good. It has a latest generation G4 800Mhz processor and a fast Radeon 9200 32MB graphics card. The 30GB hard drive was sufficient enough and the 256MB of RAM was just about enough, although if I kept this machine I would upgrade to at least 512MB. The maximum you can install is 640MB which is a bit disappointing, however this shouldn’t be regarded as a mobile powerhouse in any way, and for what you will use it for (DVDs and word processing on-the-go) it does a great job. Connectivity is good; however I was surprised not to find a PC card slot. There are two USB 2.0 ports and a super-fast FireWire port. There is VGA port to hook it up to a TV and a modem and Ethernet ports. Bluetooth and Wireless are optional and will set you back an extra 50-100 pounds. On the software side of things, iBook comes...

Sony Vaio PCG-FX401
Review of Sony VAIO FX401 - Duron 800 MHz - 14.1" TFT by
ukpcdaz
Advantages: Great system, for the price
Disadvantages: Poor Battery life and customer care
...For the price (£999.99 from Currys, I got it for £899.99 with staff discount), this sytem wasn't the best in terms of specification, and it was when XP had just been released.
The system has 128MB RAM, an 800MHz processor and an 8MB 3D Video Card. The 15" monitor is very good, and the DVD and Floppy disk drives come in useful, as many of the Laptops in this catergory still have CD-ROM only.
I chose this system, rather than the cheaper, better spec systems, as I figured that, as I dont play games I would rather opt for the brand-name (sony) rather than some dodgy company I hadn't heard of. I probably did this because I was expecting better customer support - I was wrong.
It came pre-installed with Windows XP, which excited me at the time, as XP was brand-new at the time, and only a few of the laptops had it, some were still...
