...I bought my Ipod Classic around a month ago to basically be able to carry all my albums round with me at all times and have a couple of my favourite movies to hand if I am ever bored. I used to have an Ipod Nano and thought that 2 GB of memory would be plenty for what I needed but soon found that I couldn't fit no way near half of my albums on there and had to cherry pick my favourite songs due to there being not enough space available. Now having 80GB it's surprising how much you can actually fit on it. I currently have around 15 movies, a season of lost and over a 100 albums and am still well under 30GB. It's unbelievable. Unless you would like to put all your movie collection on to your Ipod then I can definitely assure you that an 80GB capacity would more than cover your requirements. Apple Ipod 80GB

Advantages: Big memory, not heavy in weight, long battery life
Disadvantages: None that I can see

...I purchased an Ipod classic and I must say that it is one of the best purchases I have made. It has a massive memory and easy to use with iTunes. Movies, TV programmes, music and photos, everything is on mine and it is so easy to add and take off things you don't require for a while. I have 80GB and I have 600 photos, 520 songs and 60 movies on it and I still have 40GB to go. Absolutely brilliant, my friend has just bought a 160GB and it is so easy to use he doesn't need my instruction to use it for the first time. With a large compacity this is certainly one for all generations and is great if you are travelling because you can take advantage of the long life battery and watch films, tv or listen to music while you travel....

...Up 'till about 2 months ago i was proud to be one of the few people who didnt own an ipod of some sort. I considered myself to be going against the trend, standing against the monopoly that is the ipod. How wrong i was, it wasnt untill i'd got through about my 3rd MP3 player in a year, that i decided enough was enough and i would go against my beliefs and take the plunge. One of the best retailing decisions of my life. Firstly, you dont realise the true elegance of this machine untill you have it in your hand. No picture shows the incredible lightness and the beautifully styled metal backing, you really have just got to try one out. Also due to the removal of the conventional hard drive from the previous models, its new flash memory based system is completely and utterly silent. Great MP3, great customer service.

Advantages: Easy to use, long battery life, great build quality.
Disadvantages: sometimes they stop working :(

...I love this little gadget, i am a real music lover so 80gb is a superb amount of memory to take all my favourite albums with me. i have owned mine since christmas and unfortunately it went wrong. it wouldnt connect to my computer and wouldnt charge, so it was no good. luckily when i called apple on a free number, curtesy of saynoto0870.com, they were incredibly helpful and after running through a whole host of diagnostics they said it would need to be sent away for repair. i was really upset because it meant loosing all my music and being without an ipod for an estimated 10 days. the packaging arrived for me to send it away and a courier picked it up. i recieved a phone call the next day apologising for the inconvience of having a broken ipod and that a brand new replacement was being sent to me with a free 3 year guarantee. i recieved...

The 80gb ipod classic is by far the best portable music player i've ever had! not only does it look great, you can store up to about 9000 songs on this beast! despite the fact it looks rather big and hefty, its actually quite light and you tend not to notice it in your pocket untill you dip in to find some loose change. the sound quality on it is amazing. you can get all sorts of equalizers for more bass, more treble, etc... to find the perfect sound for the song you are listening to. the only thing i would say is bad about the ipod classic is the touch pad, sometimes this can get stuck or it wont sense your fingers, so it can get abit annoying trying to scan your whole archive of music when youre struggling to get from the a's to z's! The headphones! if you really want to get the best out of your ipod classic then change...

The Godfather of all MP3 players

Advantages: Great sound quality, and amazing battery life. Not bad price either.

...I've had this iPod for about 6 months now as my old ipod mini broke after having it for at least 3 years. I think this iPod is the best so far. The sound quality is amazng and the battery life is much longer than ever before, i may sound a little bias, but i really do love this iPod! The battery will last for up to a week and thats with me listening to it for at least 3 hours a day, plus watching the occasional movie. The memory is also huuuuge on this one. Not as big as its boss, the 160Gb one, but still extremely large. I have over 20 movies on it and over 5,000 songs. For me, its the best MP3 player on the market by a country mile. Not at a bad price either, even though it is a lot higher than other MP3 players on the market, but this is probably because it is the best one out there! The price is a lot better than the nano...

Disadvantages: No headphone jack, space slightly cramped with buttons, requires seperate sound card for cueing

...This is probably my most treasured possession. With the size of the memory, you can store more pictures, music and videos than you could ever possibly need. A pro and a con there... If your not going to fill up 80gb, i wouldn't recommend buying this ipod. At the moment i have nearly 6000 songs, and 9 (approx. 1 hour length) videos stored on my ipod classic, and still have 47.3 GB space free. If you can fill it, it's incredible value for money. If you can't, it seems a little pointless. It's very easy to use, you can make playlists on the go, the games are extraordinarily fun- not something i'd normally think about, but the ipod version of solitaire has kept me amused on many a train journey. The battery life is very good, as long as you don't continuously fiddle. The alarm is good... but has failed to wake me (a deep sleeper) up...
