Playstation 3 80GB

Advantages: Powerful - Good Looking - Easy to setup - Loads of games
Disadvantages: Quite heavy and bulky - Slow install and download times

...Pretty much all of the versions are the same - but this is for the 80GB version. This is my opinion but after having the 40GB version - I do feel that this system stays cooler than the 40GB version. The console is very heavy - and it is quite bulky - but it doesn't really matter. It looks very stylish - but it is basically a fingerprint magnet - the marks can be wiped off - but it is a bit annoying. Setup - When you first attempt to setup the console - it is best that you read the instructions - it can be complicated. If you are connecting to a HD TV - you basically just connect the cable to the TV and console - turn console and Tv on - then select HDMI on the TV - then run the setup - it will says a HDMI device has been detected - do you want to configure - say yes and then let it detect the settings - the screen will go blank...

APPLE 80GB CLASSIC

Advantages: YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIES AND COMPLETE ALBUM COLLECTION IN YOUR POCKET

...I bought my Ipod Classic around a month ago to basically be able to carry all my albums round with me at all times and have a couple of my favourite movies to hand if I am ever bored. I used to have an Ipod Nano and thought that 2 GB of memory would be plenty for what I needed but soon found that I couldn't fit no way near half of my albums on there and had to cherry pick my favourite songs due to there being not enough space available. Now having 80GB it's surprising how much you can actually fit on it. I currently have around 15 movies, a season of lost and over a 100 albums and am still well under 30GB. It's unbelievable. Unless you would like to put all your movie collection on to your Ipod then I can definitely assure you that an 80GB capacity would more than cover your requirements. Apple Ipod 80GB

Advantages: Big memory, not heavy in weight, long battery life
Disadvantages: None that I can see

...I purchased an Ipod classic and I must say that it is one of the best purchases I have made. It has a massive memory and easy to use with iTunes. Movies, TV programmes, music and photos, everything is on mine and it is so easy to add and take off things you don't require for a while. I have 80GB and I have 600 photos, 520 songs and 60 movies on it and I still have 40GB to go. Absolutely brilliant, my friend has just bought a 160GB and it is so easy to use he doesn't need my instruction to use it for the first time. With a large compacity this is certainly one for all generations and is great if you are travelling because you can take advantage of the long life battery and watch films, tv or listen to music while you travel....

PS3 slim

Advantages: Blu-ray, free online, nice extras like vidzone & iplayer. Almost silent operation
Disadvantages: Rubbish controller, still expensive, online nowhere near as good as xbox live

...Well, had the slim for a few weeks now (my 1st ever playstation), personally, I'm a little underwhelmed by it, I've been a gamer since the nintendo game & watch days & owned @ least 1 of the current gen consoles since the Mega Drive(Genesis). Graphically the system has the potential to wipe the floor with the 360, but this is really only going to apply to PS3 exclusives as any software house making a multi-platform game is going to be as cost effective (lazy) as possible & use the same graphics on all the games where possible(ok, they need to dumb them down for the Wii). My problem here is that I have yet to get a game for it that runs in 1080P, they all seem to be in 720P! Why???? I'm sure they are out there, but I haven't found one yet. I guess this is down to most HD tv's being HD ready rather than Full HD. Sound-Yeah, ok...

...nowadays in every media and PS3 has 40GB, 60GB & 80GB Versions of it. The 60GB and 80GB versions have memory slots as well which you can use to transfer between PS3 and any media. The slots that are available are: • • USB: Front x 4, Rear x 2 (USB2.0) • Memory Stick: standard/Duo, PRO x 1 • SD: standard/mini x 1 • CompactFlash: (Type I, II) x 1 The USB can be used for Transferring files between PS3 This is probably the main form of Storage, now the best part is you can connect your external USB hard drives to the PS3 so you will have even more storage space. Only problem with this is you will need to format your external hard drive to FAT32 as this is all that the PS3 will read.
