Back to the 80's

Advantages: Good first impressions
Disadvantages: Graphics, Price, Simple gameplay

...Having successfully managed to find one, I was terribly excited just to take it home and get it all wired up. My first game was Baseball, and have to say became quite bored after about an hour of playing. It just didn't have that old-school effect on me as the Xbox and Playstation did. In my opinion, Nintendo were desperate for market domination once again, so designed a games console that would be a huge step further than the other market rivals. The truth being is that they concentrated too much on the simulator control, and forgot other important things such as Graphics and exciting game play. The gaming was old school, as it reminded me of those arcade games from the late 80's - 90's, with slightly better graphics. Mostly from the 80s, not many hits & almost no disco tracks

Advantages: The 6 number 1 records
Disadvantages: The rest of the tracks are rubbish

...Well the title itself is a misnomer for starters as the disco era was a fairly short period during the mid 1970's as disco was ousted from the music scene by Punk and the 80's were ruled by 2 Tone Ska then the New Romantics and synth music at least as far as the UK went any way. Disco may have lived on into the 80's in America but it was replaced by electro, hip hop then rap followed by House music. Wikipedia even openly admits that disco died in 1979 but also states "the genre continued to be popular elsewhere during the 1980s", probably in less fashionable countries that hadn't adopted whatever was popular from England or America by then. Take it from someone who lived through all 3 decades, disco was dead and gone by the 1980's. So whats on this album then? 1. High Energy - Evelyn Thomas. This was #1 in a few places in 1984 but...

...A bit of a nostalgia review this. I lived my teen years from 1983 through to 1989 and what wonderful times they were. This review looks at the music, fashion and my memories from the 80?s period. 1980 Pink Floyd opened the year with ?Another Brick in the Wall? holding the No.1 position. Blondie had a number of hits in this year with ?Call Me?,?Atomic? and ?The Tide Is High?. And Johnny Logan was the Eurovision winner with ?Whats Another Year? which reached No.1 in the charts. I was 10 and my memories were that I was in my last year of Junior School and had a nutter for a teacher. School Reunion, The 80's Excellent CD's

Advantages: Ohhh to be young again
Disadvantages: none

...and this was just after Fame had come out. The cds are correct in every detail to the original records and are great. I was just leaving school in the early 80s and during CDs 2 and 3 becoming a young woman out on the town with the girls. Boy did this cd take me back. I went to see Nena in concert and can sing 99 red balloons in German. Mel and Kim and Respectable, gorgeous looking twins, one sadly died of cancer. I was 18 when this came out and went on a Club 18/30 holiday. This Cd would be recommended for all you 30 somethings or people who love the music of the 80's. Whilst typing this out, I am singing and bobbing around to the music. With the current revival of the 80's going on this is a must for youngsters as well. 99 Reasons to Love The 80's

Advantages: 18 Wonderful Number one Tracks from the 80's
Disadvantages: None

...makes up for in content. As many of you will know from my previous reviews one of my pasions is 80's music, and the beauty with this album is that although all the tracks were number one singles, very few of them appear on other compilation albums. Although the album was particularly cheap, I don't feel cheated by the quality of the tracks on offer. Track Listing 1. Duran Duran - The Reflex Not the Brummie boys greatest offering (Rio, Save A Prayer and Girls on Film probably do it for me) but a decent enough track to kick start the album. 2. ...FANTASTIC 80'S 2 Since I remember quite a bit of this 80's music growing up with it I wanted to review this double CD album. This is probably the best out of the three of them and has songs on it most of you will remember. The CD's cover a wide range of this 80's music and is highly enjoyable (if you liked the music that is !!) Both disks have hits from them that reached number one in the charts at the time and bring back good memories from my schooldays. The first disk contains : 1. ..., so I have always been a fan of theirs since I was about 6yrs old and in the end my dads taste of music rubbed off on to me like with a lot of groups I like it’s all due to my dad’s taste in music and me just growing up around songs that he played.
