...Casio has invented a new model of calculator. With textbook display and good functions, maths students will be very pleased! It has a simple to use interface with over 100 functions. It has been developed from the FX85MS which was also a great calculator. It is also solar-powered. It is stylish and looks really good. With a case to protect it when it's not being used it saves the calculator from being damaged in most cases (water sipllages). The calculator comes with a instructions manual which contains all the relevant uses for the calculator and ways to use and how to use the diffferent functions on the calculator. The selection is quite limited compared to the USA offerings but the selection of music videos and movies are increasing all the time. The movies on offer range from the gory 300 to the recently added Transformers. A music video will cost you 230 Microsoft points, an SD movie will cost you up to 360 points and an HD movie will cost you 540. The costs do vary depending on the movie. ...I have to use a calculator at work, so when my old one finally gave up on me, the company I work for supplied me with another - a Casio fx - 85ms. I've had it for about 6 months now and I still have no idea how to use it. The calculator is approximately 15cm by 9 cm and is only 1.5cm thick. It weighs a mere 138g so feels quite light for quite a large calculator. It is two way powered (solar power or 1.5V battery) and comes in a greyish - black plastic. It has a flat cover that can be slid off and on to protect the calculator front when not in use. There is a two-line display that makes it possible to view both the calculation formula and its result at the same time. ...Highly recommended for anyone needing a more-than-basic calculator. Perhaps most suited to students, anywhere from secondary school to University, this Casio will meet all and more than the requirements for any school syllabus. In my opinion, just as useful in offices. Over 2 years in which I used this calculator to help my A-Levels, it quickly became my friend, helping me save very precious time during exams. The fx-85MS took impressively little time to get used to. This particular model is approved by the pre-Uni exam boards, as, unlike more scientific models, it does not have certain "banned" functions. ...I had an LK 85 on loan from a local HI-FI shop, as my power amp had developed a fault. Their is not much to tell when it comes to power amplifiers, as all you have is a mains switch a set of input connectors and speaker outlet posts. The LK 85 is not much to look at, but then most other power amps, with the exception of valve power amplifiers are basically a plain box. The LK 85 comes in a solid good quality box with just an on off switch on the front facia and a small led to let you know that the amp is switched on. You can have any colour you want as long as it is black (as far as I know). The rear facia has a double set of gold plated phono sockets for Bi-Amping and Linns Quirky speaker connections that double up so your speakers can be Bi-Wired. ...about 3 months of owning it, the jog dial broke on me. Now the tracks don't change when i move it, so it's pretty much useless. I called up the company to get it fixed, and its 85 bucks/hour. Oh well, no jog dial for me :( However it really isn't a loss since u dont NEED a jog dial, and I rarely used it anyway. It's actually rather stupid, unless you like naming tracks (which I dont do since 1:I usually record in mono and have 40 tracks and 2:I like the fish that swims accross the remote when u play an unnamed track). Overall Ok, so here's the absolute bottom line. The Sharp MD-MS722 Minidisc player/recorder model is good. Actaully, it's very good. It's durable, looks good, and, get this, it plays music! Advantages: Excellent image sharpness, fast to focus, image stabilizer.

...I bought the 17-85mm EF-S IS lens because the standard kit lens, 18-55 mm left a gap of 15mm between it and the 70-300mm lens I already owned. I researched heaps of lenses thoroughly and decided the extra cost of the Canon should give me a better quality lens. It did! It is definitely heavier and more solidly constructed than the 18-55mm. It focuses accurately, is very fast, and has the advantage of an image stabilizer which allows you to hand hold the camera at slower shutter speeds (up to 3 steps). This allows you to retain sharper images in low light without them being affected by camera shake. Although the 17-85mm has a tripod sensor, the image stabilizer should be turned off if using on bulb setting.
