8CM AND IT STILL PUMPS OUT PLEASURE.........
Review of Apple iPod shuffle 512 MB by
Badger_Boy
Advantages: Compact, light, stores 120 songs, well built, long battery life, easy installation of songs
Disadvantages: None......
...than an MP3 player in its own right. I actually thought my better half had lost her marbles and bought me a remote control!
Weighing in at just over 20 grams, the Shuffle is 0.8cm thick and 8cm long. It fits easily into the palm of my hand and makes it extremely portable. It sits neatly in my shirt pocket and isn’t noticeable at all. If you think of the weight of say 5 cash/credit cards in your top pocket you get some idea of some little this actually weighs.
Controlled via a plastic button circled in rubber, it has the basic controls of play/pause, forward and backwards. The circle is also used to increase and decrease the volume. Both practical and functional, this actually looks rather basic but it doesn’t need to have anything else. The people at Apple have stuck to their design plan and it has indeed paid off.
As for durability...

DON'T MISS A BEAT MAN
Review of Freecom Technologies Mini CD / MP3 player by
cortex101
Advantages: Loads, price, loads of songs on one CD, portable, one of a kind
Disadvantages: None
...Well it has been a while since I last wrote an opinion but it feels good to be back. It looks like there have been a lot of changes here, but one thing that it is clear that has not changed is the friendliness of the members.
Anyway, I have recently purchased the new Freecom Beatman Mp3CD player which is apparently the only one of its kind. You may be thinking that you have seen hundreds of Mp3CD players so what’s new about this one. Well I will tell you. The CD's that it plays are only 8cm in diameter which lets you fit this handy little player in your pocket unlike usual Mp3CD players.
The Player:
In short it is great. There is a built in anti-shock function so basically you can knock it around for ages and the CD will not jump. There us a LCD display, which shows the track number, playing time...

Burn Baby Burn
Review of Lite-ON CD-RW 48r 48w 12rw Int IDE RP by
hepialid
Advantages: Cheap, fast, effective, easy to install, easy to use.
Disadvantages: I couldn’t find any.
....
The unit is designed to run with most standard Windows versions, including 95 / 98 / NT / ME / XP / 2000, on a computer with at least 128 megabytes of DRAM and a Pentium 166 or faster. So that pretty much means that it should work on just about any relatively modern computer. The drive supports the use of CD / CD-R / CD-RW formats both 8cm and 12cm discs (up to 99 mins in length)
Using the CD Re-Writer
This is the really easy bit. Once the NERO Burning software has been opened, it automatically opens a CD creation wizard, which offers simple choices dependant upon the type of CD you wish to compile, whether that be a Data CD, Music CD or other types. The wizard is simple and almost foolproof in its appearance. Once the correct type of CD has been identified, the burning program opens what looks like two Windows explorer windows...

Average. Not bad, not too good either.
Review of Freecom Technologies Mini CD / MP3 player by
Simon_J
Advantages: Sound quality, fairly light, relatively cheap.
Disadvantages: Tempramental.
...The Freecom Beatman is a fairly decent little Mp3 player. It takes 8cm CDs, which hold 185 Meg of data. This means it holds about 22 minutes of CD Audio, or at 128 Kb/s MP3 about 2 hours 45 minutes of music. It includes a key-lock switch, analogue volume control, and a preset equaliser.
It looks good enough, the sound quality is very good (even when connected up to proper Hi-Fi speakers), and the cost per megabyte of memory is very cheap.
For long journeys or PCs where you don't have lots of spare harddisk space for hundreds of albums this sort of player might be for you. You can burn lots of music CDs and take them with you.
You can also use it with 8cm | | |
