(Compact) Flash In The Pan
Advantages: Price, Capacity
Disadvantages: Reliability, Speed
...The massive success of digital cameras has driven demand for bigger and better portable storage formats and Compact Flash is just one of a number of portable, removable digital storage media available. While it is undoubtedly compact, it is certainly not the smallest format available, XD, SD and SmartMedia are all physically smaller devices. It's at this point that it's worth mentioning that there are two types of Compact Flash named, imaginatively, Type I and Type II. The only real difference is in their thickness, with Type I cards measuring 3.3mm thick and type II cards measuring 4mm. What this means is that a Type I card will work in a Type II compatible deice, but not the other way round, simply because a Type II card will not physically fit in a Type I slot.
The big benefit of Compact Flash is not the physical size, it...

Winning the card wars
Advantages: Use 2 types of cards in one camera
Disadvantages: Pricey
...If like me, you've got a variety of cameras, using different memory cards, you sometimes wish there was only one format. Why? Because then you can just buy a load of cards all of the same sort, and they'd work in all the cameras. The Minolta SD-CF1 is an adapter for those with a whole load of SD (Secure Digital) type cards, who also have a CF (Compact Flash) compatible camera too. Why should I need to buy a 512Mb CF for my Minolta, when I have a perfectly good 512Mb SD card for my brand new Megxon? Well with this device, I won't of course.
Although it's made by Minolta, and Minolta themselves only advertise it as compatible with certain cameras in their own range, it will in fact work with a variety of other CF cameras, including Canon and Nikon.
It's very simple. You take your adapter, slot the SD card into it, then slot the whole...

Essential Unless You Want to Complete a Game Without Stopping!
Advantages: You can save games, 8mb decent size, easy to use, works well, different colours
Disadvantages: Not the largest size ever and does not work with PS1 games
...The PS2 memory card is practically an essential if you have a Playstation 2 as without one you will not be able to save your games so will have to complete all your games in a single sitting or you will have to restart your game every time you want to stop playing!
The memory cards are available in various colours and I have a blue and a black one. They are quite small and fit nicely in the memory card slots in your Playstation 2. The card is quite small and does not take up much room. The card also weighs 12 grams which shows you it weighs very little.
With this card you can save up to 8 megabytes of game data which is loads for most of the games on the system but there are a few games which take up loads of room. An example of this is Gran Turismo 4 which takes up I think roughly 3 or 4 megabytes which is half of the memory.

A slim and compact USB Flash Drive.
Advantages: Slim, compact, very trendy outlook and fast performance.
Disadvantages: None really.
...with the system. It has a basic Plug n Play facility and supports almost all the operating systems such as windows XP and windows VISTA. After plugging it in to your PC/Laptop, it automatically gets connected with the system. Though it says that it has 1GB of capacity, in reality it has 955 MB of capacity.
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
I am really impressed with the classy look and design of this USB flash drive. Particularly as it has no cap, so there is no fear of losing caps any more. It is also very light, small compact and very stylish. In my personal opinion, this flash drive works better with Vista compared to XP. Though nowadays, people usually use USB flash drive with much more storage capacity such as 4GB, 8GB or even 32 GB. Still this 1 GB drive serves me well, especially when I need to transfer some important course presentation and data...

ELC Flash cards, simple but effective.
Advantages: Cheap, simple and effective
Disadvantages: Can get a bit bent after a lot of use.
...When my son was due to start school last year he had no interest at all in learning to read so we tried to look at alternatives to make reading fun.
My friend had given us some of the phonic books from the ELC and some of them interested him. He didnt want to read them but was looking at the pictures. I began to wonder if the pictures we actually distracting him and making him think that he didnt need to read. So on a trip into town I popped into the ELC and could not believe the range of reading materials that they stock.
I found this set of flash cards and thought for £3.50 it would be worth a shot.
Well I have to say they have been an absolute hit, not only with my 5 year old but with my 4 year old to.
There are 70 cards in total and they have a very good range of starter words and there are also some blank cards. We...

The vital piece of PS2 equipment!!
Advantages: OK space to save data, it is vital if you plan to play on your PS2!!
Disadvantages: Maybe not much saving room for extreme gamers!
...data 200 times faster than what the original Playstation memory card did. This makes saving, loading and deleting data much faster and easier!
This memory card also uses Flash memory, which is the same technology that is used for digital camera cards, and it is also used in MP3 players. This means that a lot more data is able to be stored on the memory cards.
Price of the cards
I have looked around and found various prices for the Sony 8MB Memory Card. When I first bought mine, they were just new, and were about £25-£30. Now they are much cheaper. I have looked around on the Internet, and the most expensive price I could find for one was between £20-£25 and the cheapest was about £10-£15.
Overall
The memory card is a vital piece of equipment. Without it, your gaming experience will be very poor. In my opinion, Sony should...

A useful little CF card
Advantages: Small, handy size, good for a few photos, or important data
Disadvantages: Low capacity for modern cameras
...CF cards have to be one of the most boring things to write about, and they are all much of a muchness in terms of manufacturing quality and durability, so I'll be brief.
Altec have a good reputation, as far as I am aware, for products like these - and of the dozen or so of the memory cards I have, none have had any problems.
An 8MB card will hold approx 8 hi-res photos from a decent digital camera. This is obviously not a lot, but if you were doing portraits of people, or a few quick shots of certain places, keeping them on distinct cards could have its advantages.
Furthermore, just because you mostly see these being used by cameras, doesn't mean you can't use them for other things. I carry some important data - encryption keys, email address books, and important documents on one. You can use readily available (and cheap...

Flash
Advantages: Good Value Product
Disadvantages: None
...This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most products of this type, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. After using this product for a few months I have not so far come up against any reliability issues but only time will tell. I therefore would recommend the product. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need.

Beauty Flash Bum!
Advantages: None that I can think of
Disadvantages: Expensive and over-rated
...I was given a tube of this 'wonder cream' as a Christmas present from my in-laws just last Christmas. It sat inside my dressing table drawer until about three weeks ago, still in its original box/packaging etc, unused.
I don't know why it's taken me so long to open the box and read the 'instructions leaflet' and actually use the stuff - maybe I was having a 'premonition' about it?? I have to say, Clairins Beauty Flash Balm, or, as it states in the French (also on the packaging/tube) "Baume Beaute Eclair" has been probably THE most disappointing beauty product I have used, EVER!! I've used a lot during my years, but this stuff does not live up to the hype, so don't waste your money.
The tube I was given is a 50ml (1.7floz) size and I believe it costs somewhere in the region of £17.00 to £19.00 in major department stores. I...

Beauty in a flash...
Advantages: Instantly works on improving skin appearance
Disadvantages: Quite costly
...Wanting to further improve my skin, friends recommended me this flash balm so a friend offered me a sample of the product to try. I was eager to try it out!
Clarins is a well-known and highly respected brand in the make up industry. Their ranges of products are all of an extremely high quality and value. Although their prices are on the high end of the scale, their products are well worth the money.
So what is this Flash Balm?
Clarins states that this Beauty Flash Balm will
-Promote immediate and long-lasting radiance.
- Firms and helps minimise fine lines and wrinkles.
- Smoothes and softens skin.
- Strengthens and refines the contours of the face; skin regains firmness and suppleness.
- Make-up looks exceptionally radiant.
My first thoughts on Flash Balm, is the name, which came across as a product that works quickly...
