Advantages: Excellent quality pictures, Useful wide angle range. Good build quality.
Disadvantages: No lens hood, Not compatible with all EOS cameras

8mm Tapes are so last year!

Advantages: Good quality tapes that will work and last
Disadvantages: Very dated with better SD Card or Hard Drive options

Once on the computer the editing can start. Memory Card or HD drive camcorders are far easier with transferring video (often Mpeg 4) straight onto the computer hard drive. A memory card can just plug straight from the camcorder into your SD card slot. Editing can then be easily undertaken with the film clips taken. Another burden is the storage of 8 mm tapes. Many people keep the originals as a back up to their DVD. This is potentially dangerous as the tapes have a shelf life of about 5years before the quality deteriorates. Nicholas Cage and his 8mm??

The sound quality was very good with good bass response and clear high and mid tones. This item can also be used with anything with a 3.5mm jack (headphone plug) for other appliences like tvs laptop computer mp3 player dvd player ect. This item is well suited for anyone who wants to listen to music on the move, on holiday, in the garden, or just anywhere in the house without finding a plug scket spare or without needing any real amount of space. Best of all i came home and found this great item for on 35pounds on amazon and ordered mine straight away. never been happier....

Although expected with such a lens, it is somewhat worse than the Canon equivalent. Vignetting is very obvious at 10mm and f/4 and remains so even at 14mm and f/4.5. It does get a little better at 20mm and f/5.6 but by this time, the best fun is over. Certainly, the problem is helped by stopping down but only to an 'acceptable' level in my opinion. Resolution or sharpness is really quite good for the price point of this lens, almost equalling the Canon lens in many respects. Sigma EX 150mm f/2.8 DG HSM APO Macro

Advantages: Optical quality. Build quality. Price.
Disadvantages: Could come free with Cornflakes?

...I purchased this lens after a great deal of research and seeking out 'actual' image files (full size ones) which had been taken using this lens specifically. These were viewed at 100% size in Adobe Photoshop to ascertain quality and compare to similar images from other lenses. In my opinion, this was the best lens of this sort of focal length that I could buy. Better even than the far more expensive Canon EF 180mm f/3.5 L Macro. One of the best macro lenses available is the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8. However, depending on your luck (Sigma's quality control isn't completely up to speed!), the actual sample you purchase may be either 'not quite' so good as the Canon 100/f2.8, 'just as' good or, if you're really lucky (in which case, bung a few quid on the Lotto!) even 'better' than the Canon 100/f2.8.
