...I chose this motherboard to replace my aging MSI neo2 platinum board. I chose to go with MSI as I had a very good experience with the neo2 running a 50% overclock on my previous CPU. Although this new 975x board did not have all the features of its competitors such as 2x 16x PCI-Express and a large number of sata ports (this board only has 5) I thought it would fulfill my needs as my primary concern was the overclocking potential and stability of the board. The board is presented well with a manual (actually readable and useful),a generous number of SATA cables (I counted 4 in my box) and various other bits and pieces such as ata cables, back plates etc. Installation of the motherboard was quick and thanks to the excellent layout I was able to remove the stock northbridge cooler and put my own waterblock on and also have my cpu water... Disadvantages: Core 2 Extreme?

...I have been using this motherboard with my Intel Core 2 E6600 processor for the last 3-4 months, and it's been nothing but trouble. It does not fully harness and utilize the power of Core 2 as it uses a VIA Chipset rather then the more advanced Intel Core 2 created Chipsets such as the Intel 975X, and it does not support Intel Core 2 Extreme (E6800 processor and above), which is a big negative for upgrading and shows it does not have the necessary abilities for the latest technology. Advantages: Blistering performance. Good overclocker. 64-bit processing.

...that I bought an Intel 975X chipset motherboard, 2GB of RAM, and a middle-of-the-road graphics card. When the system arrived, I built everything else, and arrived at the installation of the CPU. The processor has no pins on it's underside - that was the first thing that I found strange. Instead, it has a matrix of copper pads, which touch the pins sticking up from the 'socket' on the motherboard. It was easy to determine which way the processor went in, and it was also extremely easy to close the processor retainer. Once the processor was in though, I attempted to fit the heat sink and fan. It was a strange process. It all fitted together OK...it's just the 'feel' of it that I didn't like. Basically, the heat sink fits onto the socket using four corner pins.Once these are in place, it's a case of pressing each one until it clicks... Read review

Dimensions 97.5 x 56.5 x 24.5mm. - pocket size. **Resilient to drops - I actually have a picture that the camera took when I dropped it on the pavement. (This was the moment at which I regretted not taking out the extended warranty). .... The size of it (W/H/D) is 80mm x 97.5 x 36.3, or in old money that's 3.1in x 3.8 x 1.4. It weighs in at 258g (9.1oz) without the battery. It will fit into a trouser pocket, put not tight jeans perhaps. This camera cost just £30, Jessops allowed me the full original purchase price of £600 in my part exchange, also meant another years warranty - so not too bad I thought. I think the price dropped to about £450 before the new model arrived from Fuji.
