Acer Aspire Notebook - Fab!
Advantages: Easy to use, seems virus free
Disadvantages: short battery life
...I LOVE my Acer Aspire One. It is sooo easy to use, and reliable. I was a little concerned about using Linux rather than Windows, but there isn't much difference. Linux uses far less memory and is intuitive to use.
Memory can be upgraded easily with a micro SD card - I got an 8 Gb from Amazon for about £5 and just put in the slot on the side and Hey Presto 10Gb of memory!
I found the track pad a bit small so bought a Logitech wireless mouse (ARGOS) to use which made a big difference to how I can play games etc.
Internet connectivity is fast using a router. Start up to connection takes less than a minute, main home pc (windows xp)takes at least 5 minutes to boot up including anti virus etc, no such problems with acer. It doesn't seem to need antivirus software or firewalls etc. I have been using it for 7 months with absolutely no problems...

Acer aspire 5920
Advantages: classy design, 250GB hard drive, core 2 duo processor, acer technology
Disadvantages: large design
...After researching laptops for months and months to find a suitable model to use for university, i settled comfortably with the acer aspire, as it has many advantages compared to other laptops with similar specifications.
For my course i need a lot of memory, and so the 250GB hardrive was a big attraction for me. The laptop in fact has two separate drives each with over 100GB of disk space. This allows you to separate your data appropriately, for example i keep all of my media such as music on pictures on the D drive while i install my programmes and keep important data on the C drive.
The laptop also has 2GB RAM and so i instantly noticed a difference in speed between it and my old dell desktop computer. You can have many applications running at one time without anything crashing or slowing down. The 5920 uses intel centrino core 2...

Acer Aspire 5920. A real Gemstone
Advantages: Cool with style, technology, user friendly with easy understanding
Disadvantages: Sensitive touch buttons, overweight,
...I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920G from Comet. So much for cutting prices. The laptop itself is cool, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size. The laptop comes with the useful Acer Empowering software. Highly recommended laptop, the only problems I have had is with the sometimes buggy Vista. The keyboard isn't the best but I haven't had any problems with it. the touch sensitive media buttons on the right of the keyboard are too sensitive and i often end up touching them and opening the program by mistake. the Acer is fitted with superfast wireless with the inclusion of 802.11n. It also has a card reader and a camera. The laptop is great, lots of features, Acer have really pushed the boat out on this. A lot of people have been critical of the styling however I find it quite refreshing....

Acer Aspire 5920 - Super Steal for good quality
Advantages: Fast, Quality, Design and efficiency, all in one
Disadvantages: /
...Sleek and slim, it is a brilliant, well priced laptop. The 15 inch screen resolution is great, and the features are brilliant. It's fast and efficient and is great, especially for everyday use as a home pc. It also includes a 160 GB hard disk, dvd and cd drive, and a webcam fitted into the screen which is very clear and convenient. The keyboard carries shortcut keys on either side, for features such as Wireless, Internet, Mail and Bluetooth on the left hand side of the keyboard. On the right hand side, there is a touch-sensitive section for other features. The chic design, which includes a shiny outer black surface and matt grey inner keyboard, is a result of combined style from both Acer and BMW .. who could go wrong with that?!?!?!...

Acer Aspire 6935G
Advantages: Great look, tv - tuner, great to use, competitive price.
Disadvantages: Off-centre keyboard, less than average battery life.
...I don’t know if you can be a fan of a computer company, but if you can, then I’m an Acer fan (and accidental poet). This laptop is a fine addition to an excellent range.
Look
Lightweight, futuristic, classy and sporting a few unique features, such as an interesting shaped space bar and, for seemingly no reason, an off-centre keyboard, this didn’t bother me that much, but it may be something to consider when buying it. The Acer Aspire 6935G definitely pulls off a look of its own. It is a reasonable size for a laptop and quite ergonomically designed.
Function
It comes with everything you’d expect from a laptop as well as an in-built TV tuner complete with attached remote control. The keyboard, despite being off-centre was well-built and features a standard QWERTY layout; it comes with a reasonably sized and sensitive...

Aspire one Small But Mighty
Advantages: Ease Of Use, Size, Out Of Box compatible, Good looking
Disadvantages: Awkward Touchpad, Poor Battery
...I bought this version of the acer aspire one before christmas 2008. Since I bought mine my mother brother and next door neighbour have all been so impressed that they to have purchased the exact same machine.
My machine came pre installed with Linpus lite (lunix) which is a little strange if your used to windows in any form. From getting the machine out of the box i was online within 5 mins. It was so simple.
The 1st thing you will need to do once you get connected is to goto the settings menu and click the live update. This gets all the up to date bits and bobs the aspire one needs to be upto date. This process is almost fully automated and took about 30mins tom update and install.
The software included is more great - its not windows office, but a free version called open office it includes a good word processor, spreadsheet...

Acer Aspires me with the Aspire 6920
Advantages: Blu-ray, full HD, built in 5.1, HDMI, performance, media controls, battery life
Disadvantages: None known...
...on a keyboard, with the keyboard on this acer, from the start they feel easy to push, you do make some small mistakes, but after time typing is easier and quicker, the keys are softer than other laptops, so no annoying tapping noises and the layout style looks nicer than most laptops.
Monitor - looks much better than my old laptop, which is only a year old, very impressed!
Performance -very fast, suitable for gaming with most modern games, very quick at general tasks. Very good for internet use, youtube etc... usually im doing about 6 things at once...currently i have 7 internet pages open, one playing music from youtube, i am importing CDs to iTunes, im speaking to 10 people on msn (on webcam to 2!) and im using windows live mail updatig every 2 minutes checking for emails - good eh!

Acer Aspire 5920 Gemstone Laptop - LX.AKV0X.146
Advantages: Portable, easy to use, low priced, fast
Disadvantages: Slightly reflective screen, sometimes sensitive touchpad buttons, flashing WAN button, not the best keyboard
...I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920 laptop from PC World. No problems with the laptop but the service at PC World is appauling so I would not recommend buying the laptop from PC World. They also put the price up for the laptop three days after I purchased the laptop. So much for cutting prices.
The laptop itself is brilliant, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size but it is slightly reflective so if you're planning to use it in high light intensity you may have problems. The Acer laptop comes with the useful Acer Empowering software. Highly recommended laptop, the only problems I have had is with the sometimes buggy Vista.
The keyboard isn't the best but I haven't had any problems with it. The touchpad buttons can sometimes cause programs to open up but that can easily be solved...
