...--Background-- My wife has always moaned that she could never get onto the family PC as it was always being used by either my kids or myself. After doing a bit of research, she convinced me to buy her the Acer Aspire One netbook which she would use for web browsing and writing simple documents. I was a bit sceptical of the device, after all, to me it was just a cheap laptop. But, alas, she won and off I went to Currys armed with my credit card to begrudingly buy her one. --In the box-- The box in which the Aspire comes is very small. You'd be able to fit it under your arm and carry it no problem. As well as the netbook, there was a mains battery charger, a user manual and a recovery cd which I thought was strange considering there isnt a cd driver in the netbook!! --Initial Setup-- I must admit I found this impressive...

Aspiring to be inspiring! Is this another Ace Acer?

Advantages: SUPERB battery life, relatively portable and very slim.
Disadvantages: For basic and general business use, not games.

...Here we have a very mixed laptop in terms of its features and abilities. Firstly, I want to make clear that the Acer Aspire 4810T is a laptop to consider for business use, or non-graphics-intensive applications such as Word, Excel and standard internet browsing. If you are expecting to be able to play the latest video games and run graphics designer packages, then you'd be better off looking at other laptops with better stats than this one. What it does have in its favour is an increased battery life of around 7 hours, possibly as much as 8 - and a very slim and portable design with a gorgeous 14" screen. It is in a word SEXY! Yes, I would consider dating this laptop. If it were a person. Which it isn't. One can dream! Um, I'm getting sidetracked....... Hard drive -------------- There is a very reasonable 250GB...

Acer aspire one A110

Advantages: Fast and ultra portable
Disadvantages: There is no disadvantage to owning this computer

...I own the 8GB linux version in white. It is cute and compact with a glossy finish. The Aspire One running linux is surprisingly fast considering its 512MB of ram. It is perfect for wirelessly browsing the web using fire fox. The keyboard is just short of full size making it the perfect tool for typing an e-mail or essay whilst out and about. The open office documents can be saved as word, powerpoint or excel documents so they are microsoft compatible. I chose the 8GB version for the increased durability, I have not yet filled the hard drive but when I do there is a storage expansion slot which will take an SD card. The Aspire one is a great little computer well worth its small price tag...

...After researching laptops for months and months to find a suitable model to use for university, i settled comfortably with the acer aspire, as it has many advantages compared to other laptops with similar specifications. For my course i need a lot of memory, and so the 250GB hardrive was a big attraction for me. The laptop in fact has two separate drives each with over 100GB of disk space. ...This laptop has fantastic design, its called gemstone and is a very new one from acer and is being used in more and more of their laptops because of its popularity with customers. Acer Aspires me with the Aspire 6920

Advantages: Blu-ray, full HD, built in 5.1, HDMI, performance, media controls, battery life

...on a keyboard, with the keyboard on this acer, from the start they feel easy to push, you do make some small mistakes, but after time typing is easier and quicker, the keys are softer than other laptops, so no annoying tapping noises and the layout style looks nicer than most laptops. Monitor - looks much better than my old laptop, which is only a year old, very impressed! Performance -very fast, suitable for gaming with most modern games, very quick at general tasks. Very good for internet use, youtube etc... usually im doing about 6 things at once...currently i have 7 internet pages open, one playing music from youtube, i am importing CDs to iTunes, im speaking to 10 people on msn (on webcam to 2!) and im using windows live mail updatig every 2 minutes checking for emails - good eh! Battery life - very impressed...
