Advantages: Nice keyboard; good value Disadvantages: Only two USB ports and battery life
...This laptop comes with Intel Pentium Dual Core (T4300) 2.1GHz Processor, 4096MB Memory RAM, 320GB 5400rpm Serial ATA Hard Drive, and a 1.65 inch widescreen as well as a DVD-RW, integrated webcam and Windows 7 Home Premium.
I have owned an Acer PC for about 2 years and have been totally impressed with it - even when accessing their support they had been so helpful so I was really pleased to receive this brilliant little laptop as a Christmas present.
I use it mainly for internet (including shopping, banking and accessing my work remotely), e-mail with some word processing and use of Excel. It comes with a trial version of Office (Home and Student) as well as McAfee antivirus (trial) and Windows 7 from PC World. It has a host of other "freebies".
I am not a gamer so I am unable to comment on its capabilities as far as that is concerned...

Review of AcerAspire 5738
Advantages: Value for money, comfortable keyboard, widescreen Disadvantages: lack of USB ports, tricky to open on occasions
...I have recently purchased the Acer Laptop aftermuch deliberation and price comparison searches on the internet and I have to admit I am thrilled with my choice.
My laptop was bought for £399 including Windows 7 from PC world in November 2009.
I mainly use my laptop for work (specifically number crunching on Excel spreadsheets and typing prose in emails and Word), internet shopping, banking and watching films/catch-up TV. I am not a gamer and only occasionally use Skype although with the built in webcam that this laptop boasts I am starting to use it more purely due to the ease.
To start with, the keyboard is perfect for someone who is used to touch typing. My previous laptops have had quite shallow keys and have not been particularly comfortable or easy to type at speed. The AcerAspire has soft, large and comfortable keys...

Advantages: extra features, price Disadvantages: a bit basic
...This aceraspire carries acers so called gemstone design. This is a new design of laptop from acer and is being used in more and more of their laptops because of its popularity with customers. It does have split opinions however, some love it and some people really cant stand the look of it. I however think its great, its black and cream colour, with a lovely glossy lid looks cool and very neat and tidy. Also what I like about this Is its clearly a design that acer has come up with and kept, and it clearly represents their company. a lot of laptops from other manufacturers just look the same as others and you cant tell what brand they are, this however, much like the look of apples imacs you can tell they belong to which company.
The laptop is of an average size, its 36.6 cm wide, 27.4 cm in length and is 4.3 cm in height. So its not...

...A bright 15.4 inch screen, huge hard disk, and seemingly unlimited levels of memory make this a great home laptop, this to me seems where it is best suited rather than as a business notebook. Its reasonable if not good price make this centrino laptop a very good choice.

While i wouldn't say its likely to fall apart, this laptop isn't one i would fancy dropping down the stairs. After days the incredibly glossy rear screen was scratched and lead me to buying...

Review of AcerAspire5720WLMi
Advantages: portable Disadvantages: could have more memory
...This laptop is another one from the acer travelmate range .
Acer as a laptop company are beginig to grow, and they are now just as well know as a lot of others, but then I first saw then in shops, my first impression, and the impression of others I asked was they seemed a bit of a cheap brand, just like netto is compared to Sainsbury's. however acer have somehow seemed to change peoples minds and even managed to change my mind somehow.
If you want something sturdy, with a solid specification and in a mid price range of around £500, yet you could get one a lot cheaper now on eBay. Then this laptop could be for you.
Its Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor runs at 2GHz which is pretty good, and its has 1 gb of ram too. This makes it a lot faster than a lot of other laptops with only 1 gb of ram though because its processor is so quick...
Advantages: Small, good looking, light & easy to use Disadvantages: None
...A great buy!
Having used computers for years but never having bought one of my own or being very 'technically' minded I had no clue what kind of a laptop I needed or wanted. Basically I just wanted something stylish to use the internet on at home! I therefore asked one of my friends who was much more 'up' on these things. The Acer range came very highly recommended and now owning one myself I carry on the good reports!
I've had laptops at work and also used friends some of which have been slightly ugly, bulky or square and boring lookin, this I'm pleased to say is none of the above.
The screen is crystal clear, the keys are smooth and light on your fingers but not over sensitive, it's also light and good looking. The battery will last for approx 2.5 hours before you need to connect the charger. Ofcourse you can continue to...
Advantages: Very portable, excellent keyboard. Battery life OK but not what is stated Disadvantages: Slow to boot from 'cold'.
...-books is that they're all 'much of a much-ness'. For example, there's a whole clutch of them from half a dozen makers like Acer, Compaq, HP, Toshiba etc all sporting the same Intel processor, 1 gigabyte of RAM, a 160 gigabyte hard drive and a 10.1" screen, and all, it would seem somewhere around the £220-£250 mark. Likewise, they were all sporting Windows XP Home Version as their operating system. The doubtful benefits of a shift to Vista seem to have been resisted presumably to keep the price down, in the hope no doubt, that Windows 7 was 'just around the corner', which of course for main stream machines, it is.
Some even sport a free Linux operating system to help even further with the shekels.
THE CHOICE IS MADE
Thus it was that my eye was caught by an Acer net-book sporting twice as much RAM, a 250 gigabyte hard drive, and all...
Advantages: 15.6" HD screen, good audio quality, price. Disadvantages: short battery life, temperature
...Acer decided to add an extra Aspire Gemstone Blue model laptop. I was lucky to get a hold of him as my friend purchased it, and I was using it for a while, he asked me to install some software and configure his Vista so the notebook going to work properly.
The first touch was a surprise I expected it?s going to weight more than 2.8 kg, it?s a really light notebook, and thanks to its glossy sapphire-blue Gemstone cover and intricately textured palmrest it?s a pleasure to touch it.
I opened it and, I have thought nothing new inside, which is actually good because you don?t need to get used to some new type of using it. The screen is 15.6?, it?s really sharp and it?s a pleasure to work with it, the eyes don?t get tired thanks to high definition CineCrystal screen that Acer installed in this notebook. The buttons are quiet, which for me is...
