Advantages: Nice keyboard; good value Disadvantages: Only two USB ports and battery life
...This laptop comes with Intel Pentium Dual Core (T4300) 2.1GHz Processor, 4096MB Memory RAM, 320GB 5400rpm Serial ATA Hard Drive, and a 1.65 inch widescreen as well as a DVD-RW, integrated webcam and Windows 7 Home Premium.
I have owned an Acer PC for about 2 years and have been totally impressed with it - even when accessing their support they had been so helpful so I was really pleased to receive this brilliant little laptop as a Christmas present.
I use it mainly for internet (including shopping, banking and accessing my work remotely), e-mail with some word processing and use of Excel. It comes with a trial version of Office (Home and Student) as well as McAfee antivirus (trial) and Windows 7 from PC World. It has a host of other "freebies".
I am not a gamer so I am unable to comment on its capabilities as far as that is concerned...

Review of AcerAspire 5738
Advantages: Value for money, comfortable keyboard, widescreen Disadvantages: lack of USB ports, tricky to open on occasions
...I have recently purchased the Acer Laptop aftermuch deliberation and price comparison searches on the internet and I have to admit I am thrilled with my choice.
My laptop was bought for £399 including Windows 7 from PC world in November 2009.
I mainly use my laptop for work (specifically number crunching on Excel spreadsheets and typing prose in emails and Word), internet shopping, banking and watching films/catch-up TV. I am not a gamer and only occasionally use Skype although with the built in webcam that this laptop boasts I am starting to use it more purely due to the ease.
To start with, the keyboard is perfect for someone who is used to touch typing. My previous laptops have had quite shallow keys and have not been particularly comfortable or easy to type at speed. The AcerAspire has soft, large and comfortable keys...

...A bright 15.4 inch screen, huge hard disk, and seemingly unlimited levels of memory make this a great home laptop, this to me seems where it is best suited rather than as a business notebook. Its reasonable if not good price make this centrino laptop a very good choice.

- Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 (2.00GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
- 15.4? HD Acer CineCrystal LED LCD
- 4GB DDR3 Memory
- 1244 MB Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
- 250 GB Hard Drive
- DVD SuperMultiDl with BluRay disc drive
- 0.3 megapixel integrated webcam
- Purchased from PC World £450

While i wouldn't say its likely to fall apart, this laptop isn't one i would fancy dropping down the stairs. After days the incredibly glossy rear screen was scratched and lead me to buying...

Review of AcerAspire 5738
Advantages: Very portable, excellent keyboard. Battery life OK but not what is stated Disadvantages: Slow to boot from 'cold'.
...-books is that they're all 'much of a much-ness'. For example, there's a whole clutch of them from half a dozen makers like Acer, Compaq, HP, Toshiba etc all sporting the same Intel processor, 1 gigabyte of RAM, a 160 gigabyte hard drive and a 10.1" screen, and all, it would seem somewhere around the £220-£250 mark. Likewise, they were all sporting Windows XP Home Version as their operating system. The doubtful benefits of a shift to Vista seem to have been resisted presumably to keep the price down, in the hope no doubt, that Windows 7 was 'just around the corner', which of course for main stream machines, it is.
Some even sport a free Linux operating system to help even further with the shekels.
THE CHOICE IS MADE
Thus it was that my eye was caught by an Acer net-book sporting twice as much RAM, a 250 gigabyte hard drive, and all...
Advantages: SUPERB battery life, relatively portable and very slim. Disadvantages: For basic and general business use, not games.
...Here we have a very mixed laptop in terms of its features and abilities.
Firstly, I want to make clear that the AcerAspire 4810T is a laptop to consider for business use, or non-graphics-intensive applications such as Word, Excel and standard internet browsing.
If you are expecting to be able to play the latest video games and run graphics designer packages, then you'd be better off looking at other laptops with better stats than this one.
What it does have in its favour is an increased battery life of around 7 hours, possibly as much as 8 - and a very slim and portable design with a gorgeous 14" screen.
It is in a word SEXY!
Yes, I would consider dating this laptop.
If it were a person.
Which it isn't.
One can dream!
Um, I'm getting sidetracked.......
Hard drive
--------------
There is a very reasonable 250GB...

Advantages: Speedy Start Up, Great when functioning properly... Disadvantages: Overheating, No memory card slot, Battery Life...
...So, the review of the AcerAspire 5315. This laptop is a good machine. From my experience it works well and not is too complicated to work for all those new to laptop technology. The laptop is of course an Acer and in the past Acer's have been credited for being quite bad computers and this one is sort of in the middle of bad and great...
Personal Experience
I've owned this laptop since the Christmas of 08' which is now a year owned right? Well at least I think it is, anyway, the laptop is great at what it does. The screen is nice and bright and adjustable to the surrounding light meaning the screen is never too bright or dull. The keyboard is robust and easy to type upon, I've many times spilt my drink over the keyboard and quickly mopped it up, and even to this day the laptop is in full working order. In my opinion the laptop...

Review of AcerAspire 5315
Advantages: its speed and performance Disadvantages: rubbish webcam
...This laptop has fantastic design, its called gemstone and is a very new one from acer and is being used in more and more of their laptops because of its popularity with customers. It does have split opinions however, some love it and some people really cant stand the look of it. I however think its great, its black and cream colour, with a lovely glossy lid looks cool and very neat and tidy. Also what I like about this Is its clearly a design that acer has come up with and kept, and it clearly represents their company. a lot of laptops from other manufacturers just look the same as others and you cant tell what brand they are, this however, much like the look of apples imacs you can tell they belong to which company.
The installed ram on this laptop is great, it has a massive 2gb which is the main reason this laptop runs so fast, also...
