...Acer notebooks are really famous in all the world, mostly because of their notebooks price and reliability. I have used many series of Acer notebooks and all the time, when I use some Acer notebook, I't pretty amazed. All the time I think, how Acer can make so good and powerful notebooks, but seriously, I don't understand. I used Acer Extensa 4220 about 4 months ago first time, after that, my friend got it for his birthday. I was really amazed, because of this notebook outlook and weight. It's really portable, and really lightweight, so you can bring it with your, where every you want. Advantages: No inbuilt bluetooth adapter

(For those who would like to instal Windows XP your warrant may fly through the window. I needed to get XP SATA drivers on floppy to install XP...and also changed the bios version (refer to instruction on acer website). Anyone purchasing it will notice that it has a blue tooth adapter sliding switch on the front face, only that I did not realise at first glance that there was actually no bluetooth adapter inside. One has to buy an external bluetooth adapter to use with this laptop...but the laptop has bluetooth capability...only no internal BT adapter. Overall perforemance: good...

Acer Aspire Notebook - Fab!

Advantages: Easy to use, seems virus free
Disadvantages: short battery life

...I LOVE my Acer Aspire One. It is sooo easy to use, and reliable. I was a little concerned about using Linux rather than Windows, but there isn't much difference. Linux uses far less memory and is intuitive to use. Memory can be upgraded easily with a micro SD card - I got an 8 Gb from Amazon for about £5 and just put in the slot on the side and Hey Presto 10Gb of memory! I found the track pad a bit small so bought a Logitech wireless mouse (ARGOS) to use which made a big difference to how I can play games etc. Internet connectivity is fast using a router. Start up to connection takes less than a minute, main home pc (windows xp)takes at least 5 minutes to boot up including anti virus etc, no such problems with acer. It doesn't seem to need antivirus software or firewalls etc. I have been using it for 7 months with absolutely no problems...

Advantages: Great value for money, NVIDIA GeForce graphics, built-in webcam and mic
Disadvantages: Heavy, not the most robust laptop

...Generally a very good laptop offering superb value for money. Is able to cope with numerous tasks well without slowing or freezing. The NVIDIA GeForce Graphics card makes the laptop a great value gaming laptop. Includes a built-in webcam and microphone, great for chatting online with friends. However, I have had a problem with a flickering screen when opened at certain angles, and the laptop is heavy, so it probably isn't the most practical or robust if you are looking to transport it with you often. This laptop is probably most suited to students - it performs well, has a funky design and is great for watching DVDs, playing media and gaming on its 15.4 high definition screen with Virtual Surround Sound. Offers fantastic value for money....

Acer Aspire 5920 Gemstone Laptop - LX.AKV0X.146

Advantages: Portable, easy to use, low priced, fast
Disadvantages: Slightly reflective screen, sometimes sensitive touchpad buttons, flashing WAN button, not the best keyboard

...I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920 laptop from PC World. No problems with the laptop but the service at PC World is appauling so I would not recommend buying the laptop from PC World. They also put the price up for the laptop three days after I purchased the laptop. So much for cutting prices. The laptop itself is brilliant, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size but it is slightly reflective so if you're planning to use it in high light intensity you may have problems. The Acer laptop comes with the useful Acer Empowering software. Highly recommended laptop, the only problems I have had is with the sometimes buggy Vista. The keyboard isn't the best but I haven't had any problems with it. The touchpad buttons can sometimes cause programs to open up but that can easily be solved...

Quality Laptop, Quality Price!

Advantages: Good speed, good memory, very portable, great price.

...This Acer Extensa 5220 laptop is ideal for anyone on a budget. However don't be fooled by the low price, this laptop still has power. The Intel Celeron processor is more than powerful enough for any home or student. Including a good sized memory (80GB), Windows Vista Home Basic and a DVD rewriter this laptop is excellent value for money. The 15'4 screen allows for excellent viewing for DVDs and gaming, but does not mean the laptop is heavy and could be easily portable to use all over home/school/college/university. Overall i believe this laptop is excellent value for students who are not looking to spend alot of money, but still want a good quality laptop which will allow them to complete most tasks....

Acer Aspire 6920G - mid-range laptop of the year?

Advantages: Great Design, Powerful components, Blu-Ray, good value for money

...After 3 weeks of owning the acer aspire 6920G i can safely say it is the best laptop i have ever used (or even see other people use), the elegant design, uniquely awesome 16" screen and the great price/performance ratio makes for one great laptop. One of the first things you will notice when you first turn on the laptop is the 'Cinedash' media bar on the left of glossy keyboard. Essentially it is just a funkier version of the standard media hotkeys prevailent on all but the most budget of laptops, but it is a wonder to behold. If nothing else it just makes the whole of the laptop seem just that little bit more stylish, even if it does attract the attention of every friend/family/flatmate/spouse, meaning that for all the faffing with the touch pad volume slide, you can hardly get a chance to use the laptop yourself at first...
