...INTRO
Asus (or AsusTek), are famous for their range of computer motherboards (the big circuit board in a PC). Nowadays, they've broadened their range to other computing items such as flat screen monitors, PDAs and even laptops. Now, speaking of laptops, Asus released their Eee PC range of laptops and these were the first 'netbooks' on the market. A netbook is a laptop (or notebook) but smaller and cheaper than a standard laptop. It's always been the case of, the smaller the laptop, the higher the price tag, since they would usually be classed as 'Ultra Mobile' laptops and would be just as powerful if not more powerful than normal laptops, but Asus changed all that by introducing the Eee PC. There are various flavours of the Eee PC with price tags ranging from around £180 and screen sizes from 7" up to 10" odd. The main...

Review of ASUS Eee PC 1000H
Advantages: cheap, works in vista, does the job far better than the competition, optical output! Disadvantages: limited inputs (see review)
...The souncard market has never really been swamped with options. For those of us who don't use onboard sound and demand a seperate sound card for our sorround sound/gaming/music needs theres never been much choice. Most people go with Creative as they are well known and apparently respectable. I did just that a few years ago, it was a mistake. Their driver and customer support, especially for Windows Vista users is seriously lacking. I was finding my games locking up, my computer suffering from fatal errors (aka Blue Screens of Death) and just general sound issues that were hindering my enjoyment. Research soon showed that the creative card was to blame. As a result i threw my old creative soundcard in the bin and opted for something new, the Asus Xonar D1.
Simple, small and effective. Asus's card supports Vista and its drivers are...

Review of ASUS Xonar D1
...ASUS U3S is very well designed. When closed the notebook is whole black, Only on the back side is a silver line. Cover is made from metal and its surface
is smooth and reflects like a mirror. It is nice, but you have to clean it often to keep the effect on:) The sides are hardened by metal so the construction
is strong. Good thing is the leather surface arounf touchpad. The only thing i dislike about this mode are a bigger edges around display.
There are many ports and features inside. On the front side is no connector, on the left Audio, card reader (MMC, SD, MS/Pro), Wifi switcher FireWire, USB, cooling output and S-video.
The back side id filled mostly by battery, on the sides are VGA, modem and LAN. On the right side are the most interesting ports - Express Card, switcher of the graphics card,
two USBs, port for external GPS...

Review of Asus P320
...eliminated with balanced architecture and peak bandwidths up to 6.4GB/s.
AGP8X
AGP8X (AGP 3.0) enables enhanced graphics performance with high bandwidth up to 2.12GB/s.
ASUS CPU Lock Free
The P5PE-VM offers the CPU Lock Free feature, which allows you to adjust CPU multiplier to 14x. The reduction of multiplier value provides more flexibility for increasing external FSB frequency to raise memory bus bandwidth. CPU Lock Free boosts overall system performance by making synchronous modification possible. Enjoy better performance at the same CPU operation speed and improve your system without pushing the CPU to the limit.
Serial ATA technology
Serial ATA provides scalable performance. With up to 150MB/s data transfer rate, Serial ATA is faster than current Parallel ATA.
CrashFree BIOS2
The CrashFree BIOS 2 feature now includes...
Advantages: Size, Ease of Use Disadvantages: Small keyboard, small screen
...This review looks at one of many netbooks to be released in the UK over the past few months, ASUS's EEE PC 701 SD. The model I have is fitted with Windows XP and has an 8Gb hard drive. I bought it on special offer for £155.
Appearance
The 701SD is absolutely tiny. It weighs around a kilogram and is roughly the same size as a hardback reading book when in the closed position. It comes in a neat box along with instructions,a mains charger, a protective case and a system CD. It has a 7 inch screen which is absolutely tiny but is still perfectly functional. The unit has three USB sockets, headphone and microphone jacks, and SD memory card slot, a small webcam above the screen and a microphone positioned just underneath the keyboard. It has a small touchpad which is small but works in exactly yhte same way as a normal sized laptop...

Review of Asus Eee PC 701
Advantages: Small and Portable, Cheap Disadvantages: Small HD, No CD drive
...Well I just love this laptop. It is everything I want in a laptop. It does have a few minor flaws but the pros totally outweigh them.
Appearance
This laptop is a great looking laptop. Only the size of an A5 notepad, it is small and yet it still manages to look smart yet fun. I chose the baby blue cover for my asus eee but any colour looks just as good. Inside, the layout is neat and tidy with reasonable sized keys for this small laptop. The sides of the laptop look clean in simple as is to be expected with a small laptop like this. Without a CD drive, it allows more room for the 3 USB ports and SD slot allowing the back of the laptop to be left clear bar the power port. Overall, a great looking laptop.
Function
With such a small hard drive of only 4gb and a small amount of memory of 512mb, this laptop surprised...

Review of Asus Eee PC 701
Advantages: Quite Cheap and Supporting Nowadays' Tech. Disadvantages: Not Found, yet
...recommend you P5VD2-X. It comes with nice features. It is still listed as Hot Product in their official site. For more detailed technical specifications on this product, feel free to follow the following link: http://www.asus.com.tw/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=346&l4=0&model=1362&modelmenu=2
This motherboard is recommended for people who love playing games and processing / editing graphics or photographs. No integrated / onboard graphic adaptor comes with this board. It requires an additional PCI-Express Video Card. I usually install an ATI-Radeon X-1050 PCI-Express card (128 MB GDDR2 ? 64 Bit & Windows Vista Ready). Like most motherboards, this one is also package with onboard audio system, Realtek ALC883 6-channel High Definition Audio CODEC which supports Jack-Sensing, Enumeration, Multi-streaming and Jack-Retasking and Coaxial S/PDIF out...
Advantages: Cheap, Easy to set up Disadvantages: Must have ASUS (Deluxe/Premium) motherboard with Wi-Fi@Home socket, PC must be on to use the wireless
...?t say for sure.
I?ve found that signal strength is pretty good although I can only go as far as my living room. This may very well be due to the walls I?ve got in the house. Larger spaces may allow for better signals. The antenna is at the end of a 1m wire thus allowing you to move it about for the best reception. I quite like this in the way that it?s flexible although I think it would be even better if it was even longer (i.e. 2-3 metres) so that I can put it somewhere higher than the top of the PC. That might get me better signals and especially since my PC is on the floor.
VERDICT
I think you would be better off getting a PCI wireless card even if you have an Asus motherboard that has the Wi-Fi@Home socket. If you were to sell the motherboard and buy a different brand, you would have to sell the card with the Asus you?re selling...

Review of ASUS WiFi-b
Advantages: Quiet, Small, Stylish, Eco - Friendly, VESA mounting bracket and N WI-FI Disadvantages: Low RAM, Low HDD, No Optical Drive Not very VfM
...The Asus Eee Box B202 is not a PC in the standard sense of the word! It is, what is known as, a net top PC. It has no DVD Drive, is very low on processing power and has very low Hard Drive space.
Ok, for the good.
The ASUS Eee Box B202 is almost silent even when running at full throttle. It?s very thin; stream line design makes it very attractive but does hinder it. It also has a bracket allowing it to screw into the VESA mounting holes on the back of any standard monitor, which means its great on space saving. It has a built in N WI-FI card meaning no dongle needed so again you gain on space! It has a gigabit Ethernet port.
This PC has one of the lowest power consumption seen so far at almost 17W while idle, meaning that this PC is very Eco-Friendly, so not only do you gain on space but on cash too. The gift that keeps on giving...
