Advantages: great storyline, interesting characters, astounding set pieces, whole game is one cutscene

Call Of Duty 4

Advantages: Immense individual, multiplayer and online gameplay
Disadvantages: Could be more missions

...This is one of the greatest games ever made, and in my opinion the greatest game for online gamplay that exists. The missions are compelling and excellent, and the graphics are unbelievable. The best part of the game is the Xbox Live gameplay (for Xbox 360) and is really addictive (I know of people who have clocked up over 30 days of Call Of Duty 4 online gameplay) and is especially fun if you play with your friends as you can compare stats like most kills and most points etc. The game is so popular that the price is still reasonably high (between £30 and £40) which is a credit to Activision as they really have exceeded expectations with this revolutionary game. The sound effects are incredible, and the noise of the gunshot is so convincing and realistic it can feel like your actually near gunfire. I would recommend however...

Advantages: Fantastic online
Disadvantages: Campaign mode lets it down

...Call of duty 4 modern warfare is definitley worthy of "game of the year" award simply because of its online play. This game makes Halo 3 look poor. On campaign mode you alternatively play as "soap" in the SAS, and Jackson in the US marines along with other characters as flashbacks. The game is realistic as to what weaponry the US or SAS have and to what the spetnaz and opfor use. With a wide range of assault rifles, shotguns, sniper, machine guns etc. this is a great game for gaming and military enthusiasts. However in my opinion the campaign mode is a definite let down and very easy to complete. But online it is fantastic!!!! Airstrikes, helicopter support, c4s, flashbangs, frags, RPG, grenades are some of the extras which can be used....

Advantages: amazing multiplayer, good graphics.
Disadvantages: short campaign

...I recently brought call of duty 4 and i can safely say its one of the best fps games ive ever played. The graphic quality is superb and the sound quality is next to none. The game is styled subtly and realistically. The campaign itself is relatively short, however the storyline is hooking and the levels can be played again and again. The game really comes into its own when used online against others. There are a wide selection of maps to choose from and the weapons can be customized to exactly how you want them. The game retains its team playing style whether online or in the campaign and requires you to work as a member of a team not just alone as in many previous games. I think this game is well worth the money and would definitely recommend it to others....

You play 3 distinct characters in separate, but interwoven, campaigns; "Soap" McTavish of the SAS, Sgt Paul Jackson of the US Marine Corps and eventually Lt Price of the SAS in a series of missions. The graphics here are absolutely superb, with an amazing level of detail, the sound effects help a lot here as well. The crunch of walking on bits of concrete while you look down and see dust moving around because of your movements is fantastic. Campaign The Campaign is brilliant, it has 3 acts, one with 8 in it, one with 5 and the other 4, there is also a prologue (three levels) and a epilogue (one level) which makes a 21 level which you may think is not much but each level is about 30 min long and the replay value on it is amazing, with 4 different difficulties and an arcade...
