Advantages: high quality images, great design, rugged yet light, good value, quick Disadvantages: auto modes can be dodgy in extreme lighting, only one control wheel, bad live view
...Canon has for a long time been renowned for its high quality cameras with superb image quality and good value for money.
The CanonEOS450D is no exception: rugged build, high quality images from Canon's renowned CMOS sensor, and good battery life and usability all contribute to the making of an excellent entry lever DSLR camera.
In terms of picture quality, I feel Canon is unrivalled, and the 450D upholds this reputation. The 12.2MP and CMOS sensor produce excellent results in all light conditions. In bright light, the Canon has no issues sensoring quickly and almost always producing a result in auto and manual modes. The meter is swift and reliable, producing results that are frequently bettered by knowledge of the manual mode and histogram, but nevertheless excellent.
The images from low light situations are also very good...

Review of CanonEOS450D
Advantages: Extremely easy to use, fantastic picture quality, long battery life. Disadvantages: I haven't found any!
...Introduction
I bought the CanonEOS450D a couple of months ago as my first SLR - and i can honestly say its an absolute pleasure to use. For someone like me who is a total novice in photography terms (but very willing to learn!) this camera is superb.
Ease of use
My friend and I researched SLR cameras for hours to try to find a camera for me. I can only be described as a beginner but I wanted to take the plunge and do some 'real' photography. The EOS450D seemed to have everything I was looking for - and it is everything I was looking for. It is a very light, yet sturdy camera that fits comfortably in my hands. The large LCD screen is very sharp which is especially useful when you are trying to change settings, and i was surprised by how quickly i learned what all of the buttons did and also how quickly i was able to take a half decent...

Review of CanonEOS450D
...Canon have released an excellent performing camera.
This camera is nearly as good as the more expensive eos 40D.
The menu is incredibly easy to use even for a novice like me.
The 3 inch lcd screen is very clear and simple to understand.
The 12 million pixels creates beautiful pictures and gives you massive scope for enlarging and cropping and still create excellent clarity pictures after zooming in on PC.
The ability to take raw pictures boosts massively the potential to create imaginative pictures using software such as adobe photo shop.
I used to use a canon powershot but am very pleased to have swapped to this versatile camera.
Prices for this camera are still dropping and I consider this far better value than new eos 1000D....

Review of CanonEOS450D
Advantages: TOO MANY TO MENTION Disadvantages: NONE
...Excellent picture quality, especially regarding the colour reproduction.
The 450d's ease of use enhances the overall quality of the product.
User defined functions are simple to set and use.
The software supplied with the camera provides brilliant and simple guidance and manipulation of photographs can be made easily, if required.
This software also compares well with professional software, certainly for beginners to digital photography.
The price, which has been dropping since its launch, has always meant good value. But of course, that value, at current prices, is second to none.
An added advantage is that all of my old Canon lenses can also be used.
Add a good flash gun and you will have all you need for great photography.
The best camera I have ever owned....

Review of CanonEOS450D
Advantages: Features, Picture quality, looks fantastic Disadvantages: Technical for a beginner - get a book
...portrait, landscape, close-up, sports and night portrait. Then, once you are more comfortable with the more technical aspects you can use AV (Aperture priority) or TV (Shutter priority). The "holy grail" is Manual which I have not ventured to yet, this is where you decide all the technical aspects of your shot. There really is far too much on the camera to get your head round at first and so I'd suggest you do what I did which was to buy a companion - "Canon450d Companion" - by Ben Long has served me well thus far in explaining some of the new features I had never used before.
4 months after purchase and I am still delighted with it, many people have commented on my pictures which is always a nice feeling.
I would recommend the following to add on to your camera:
Lens hoods for each lens
UV filter for each lens
Canon 55-250mm telephoto...

Review of CanonEOS450D
Advantages: Excellent picture quality, easy to use, expandable. Disadvantages: Expensive.
...CanonEOS450D
This is a digital SLR camera this is a Single Lens Reflex that allows you to see exactly what you are going to take a photo of via the internal mirrors of the SLR system which improves picture quality and ease of taking pictures.
It is manufactured by the well known brand Canon they make a lot of photography equipment and I see them as a trusted quality brand. This helped me make my buying decision when choosing this model of digital SLR camera. It is the updated model of the CanonEOS 400D which was a highly successful camera and really good quality so this camera has an awful lot going for it.
I bought this camera not for myself but for my dad as he broke his old digital SLR which was a Konica Minolta Dynax 5D and was a 6 mega pixel DSLR, we thought about having this one repaired but it was going to be cheaper...

Review of CanonEOS450D
Advantages: Excellent build quality, superb CMOS sensor, low noise at high ISO. Disadvantages: Poor kit lenses
...This is not a review, but a comment on the shortcomings of investing in this Canon system.
Given the superb performance of the CMOS image sensor, particularly at high sensitivity settings, the lenses offered by Canon as 'kit' lenses are somewhat of a let-down and disappointment for the following reasons:
The camera body does not have image stabilisation. If you wish to have this facility each lens you buy has to have it built in. This makes the lenses inherently more expensive than similar ones without image stabilisation.
The 'kit' lenses (18-55 and 55-250) are not internal focus, therefore the filter thread rotates when you change focus, making the use of polarising filters difficult.
Canon do not supply lens hoods with their lenses and, unless you opt for cheap alternatives, are quite expensive to add on.
To get...

Review of CanonEOS450D
Advantages: Superb image quality, well built, High resolution, low noise, Excellent spec. Disadvantages: Only minor gripes, no CF card included, large and heavy compared to some.
...The CanonEOS 50D
This review is based on my own reviews of this camera elsewhere (Amazon) and has been edited for the pupose of posting on here, I hope you will find it useful.
I bought this camera almost as soon as it was released, so I have had plenty of time to get used to it, and test it fully before writing this review.
Overview
The first thing you notice is that this is not a small lightweight camera, but is a solid well built camera designed for serious use, yet despite it's size and weight it is still easy to hold and is comfortable to use, for those of you that have used the EOS 40D it has the same body shell as that, and has the advantage of using the same accessories as the EOS 40D as well.
The menu's are well laid out and easy to use making this camera easy to set up and use, the large...

Review of CanonEOS 50D
...This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need.

Review of CanonEOSD30
Advantages: Typically good Canon images. Disadvantages: Poor flash and feels a bit flimsy.
...Canon along with Nikon have for years been known as the kings of camera`s but with things changing rapidly in the DSLR market Canon had to think fast. All of Canons recent releases have been at the expensive end of the market and they have been rapidly losing ground to the likes of Nikon and the new kids on the block (Sony). The release of the CanonEOS 1000D in June this year (2008)was an attempt to get back in the entry level market and whilst I think it should have the desired effect I am still not convinced they have done enough to tempt people away from the less expensive Sony option.
Many people myself included thought that the new Canon would just be a fresher version of the CanonEOS 400D and the only stand out feature available on this 1000D that the 400 did not offer was a live view, so were Canon trying to pull the wool...
