Inspiring Inspiron from Dell

Advantages: Good spec, reasonable price, great processor

I had a limited budget but wanted to get her something with decent enough spec for playing computer games should she wish to do this, and a large hard drive as she is a big fan of making videos on her digital camera and downloading music - two things which can eat up hard drive space. The dell inspiron laptop is it a good buy!

Advantages: The look of the dell inspiron laptop seems more classy then other notepads. It is simplistic.
Disadvantages: Maybe Dell Have gone too simplistic with this model as the features are nothing to rave about

...The Dell inspiron laptop has an attractive classy look, it has a simplistic stream-line look. When I take it out its case I feel good about it because its not a big bulky embarassing computer thing. However, if your one for keeping everything clean and tidy and no smudges anywhere, then maybe you might be irritated by this laptop. With its glossy look smudges, smears and fingerprints stand out like a sore thumb. You feel like your constantly wiping it. You also have to watch what you wipe the laptop with as it is quite easy to scratch. A better idea for Dell would be to provide a cloth to clean it with, one they know wont damage your laptop. It would be a real bummer to scratch it while cleaning it. I also decided to get the colour black because there wasnt a lot of colours to choose from which I found quite dissapointing as...

Advantages: fast, powerful and quite cheap

This laptop is very fast and powerful for what you pay, the intel 2-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor drives this laptop so fast. go for a large memory option when buying, svaes a lot of money in the future Sound can distort at higher levels, grapics are bright and colours are bright. Unlike earlier inspiron model the webcam is a good addition, Wifi seems to get a slightly better reception, not sure why WIFI card is the same in Both. Glossy 15.4 screen looks amazing, Dell have learned from the Inspiron 1501, go for a longer life battery still quite short with WIFI on. My best bit advice is pay for a mid range model, your get about the same spec off sony for about £800 more...

...Since i use this every day i have become used to it's speed, reliability and how it fares all round. The Dell inspiron is a fairly average sized laptop, boasting 2gb RAM, 15.4" screen, dvd drive, 120GB Hard drive and of course a 2gb core duo processor. Firstly bootup and speed. With full battery and windows vista i counted that it took me approximately 20 seconds from on to log on screen which is very impressive for vista or even a laptop. To log onto an account with widgets it takes a further 30seconds to a minute for the laptop to load all the start upitems on a laptop with apps such as iplayer, veoh, 4od and itunes. Surfing the web or browsing files is quick and responsive, with firefox loadsing almost straight away so you can click away at the internet. Browsing through files is average due to the restraints of the hard drive...

...Dell Inspirons are very reliable machines! Whenever I have been asked which machine I wish to upgrade to I always request the latest Inspiron. I spend a lot of time travelling and work from home as well as the office- the Inspiron has proven to be robust and reliable. The battery holding charge is reliable if you follow Dell's recommendations for use etc. The recharging lead and pack is neat and small for ease of packing/transportation. Monitor quality is great, gives good overall viewing comfort. Acess to all set up arrangements are easy with this laptop with nothing difficult if you are busy and dont want to waste time reading the manuals.
