...I purchased the DellInspiron 1545 laptop back in January for my daughter's birthday. I had a limited budget but wanted to get her something with decent enough spec for playing computer games should she wish to do this, and a large hard drive as she is a big fan of making videos on her digital camera and downloading music - two things which can eat up hard drive space.
I did a fair bit of research before purchasing and decided I wanted to get the best spec I possibly could for my money and the Inspiron ticked all the boxes. I paid £399 in January 2009 in Currys for the laptop which was the absolute limit on my budget.
The Dell I purchased has a dark blue coloured lid, however the rest of it is a shiny piano black which looks lovely. I would have preferred metal for the mousepad area - it feels sturdier and doesn't seem to attract...

Let again my target of review is popular 15.4" series laptop and I am trying to write review on Dell laptop second time.
Dell has upgraded its earlier model inspiron 1520 to inspiron1525, and the new upgraded model has excellent latest feature as well.
Generally Dell deals with its customer online and they sell laptop online but also considering retail chain so that they can easily reach to every general people also.
Due to online sell, they provide good range of feature for customization, and we can choose good features and technology for our requirements.

...Since i use this every day i have become used to it's speed, reliability and how it fares all round.
The Dellinspiron is a fairly average sized laptop, boasting 2gb RAM, 15.4" screen, dvd drive, 120GB Hard drive and of course a 2gb core duo processor.
Firstly bootup and speed. With full battery and windows vista i counted that it took me approximately 20 seconds from on to log on screen which is very impressive for vista or even a laptop. To log onto an account with widgets it takes a further 30seconds to a minute for the laptop to load all the start upitems on a laptop with apps such as iplayer, veoh, 4od and itunes. Surfing the web or browsing files is quick and responsive, with firefox loadsing almost straight away so you can click away at the internet. Browsing through files is average due to the restraints of the hard drive...

...The DellInspiron 1545 is an easy to use entry level laptop. Unlike two years ago when I bought my previous laptop, you can now get a number of Dell computers (of which this is one) direct from high street retailers. This is good if you want it in a rush and want a nearby place to handle any issues, but has the disadvantage that you can't customise your laptop to your own requirements to the same extent that you can if you buy it direct from Dell (which takes several weeks).
Because Dell are so good at allowing customisation, you need to be very careful when you buy that you actually get the one you need - they are not all the same, so you can't just go into a shop and say "Give me your Inspiron 1545" - you need to be sure that it e.g. has a suitable processor, enough memory and a big enough hard drive for your needs. Sound can distort at higher levels, grapics are bright and colours are bright.
Unlike earlier inspiron model the webcam is a good addition, Wifi seems to get a slightly better reception, not sure why WIFI card is the same in Both. Glossy 15.4 screen looks amazing,
Dell have learned from the Inspiron 1501, go for a longer life battery still quite short with WIFI on.
My best bit advice is pay for a mid range model, your get about the same spec off sony for about £800 more...

...I really rue the fact that I own this laptop. I got it way back in 2009 as a present from my sister. Although I am not a big fan of Laptops but there are times when I do require this handy version when I am mobile. I won?t say that there are no pluses for this DellInspiron 1545 Laptop but the negatives are so glaring that they caste too many shadows on the pluses. I agree that Bluetooth is a not big necessity but the webcam is.
Let?s try an honest run on both its highs and lows and just bring out what it really boils down to.

...I got this laptop late last year (though its not just mine!) and I think it is a lot better than my old laptop (Which was also an inspiron, but obviously an older one!).
I haven't had any problems at all with it and it has improved so much!
One of the best points for me is speed! The speed of the laptop loading time is great! I hate when your waiting for so long just for your laptop to boot up so I was happy with this laptop as sson as I used it! The screen quality is great, the colour and the fact that it's so big!
The touchpad is great but sometimes you have to press it a few times for it to respond. The LED lights look really great and I love it that it's good quality and looks good. I have the black cover one as I don't really mind what the front looks like though it is a bonus the inside is so pretty!! It's a really thin...

...Having recently purchased this laptop, I have been generally very pleased with it's performance. It's not too heavy to carry around, the battery life is much better than I expected although obviously the screen brightness must be turned down. The running speed of programs is also good (and I only choose the basic parts, it can all be upgraded). The sound is loud, not great quality but this seems expected on a laptop. Finally, the body can be coloured giving it a more personal and fun touch. Everything else seems to be in good working order, and the basic windows programmes were already installed when it arrived so it was ready to go pretty much staright away. ...Having purchased this laptop back in April 2008, I can say that after just over a year of owning and using this model every day for work and studying it has been a great performer and done everything I have wanted it to in a timely fashion. I upgraded the RAM to 3gb from the standard 2gb and went with the 250gb hard drive. So far ive been able to work with Sage Line 50 Accounts, VMware test labs and use large powerpoint documents with no problem in performance at all.
The only issue I did have recently was that the hard drive seemed to be a little more audible at times and a little warmer to the touch that normal. I ran the dell diagnostics and found that there was an error with the hard drive. I called Dell support the next day, gave them the error code and they had a courier change out the hard drive for a brand new bigger drive (a...

...I've recently purchased this Dell and on the whole I like it. It's smart, quick and reliable. The screen is a good size for watching movies etc and the picture quality and audio quality is good (better with headphones).
It's let down on a couple of fronts: I find the battery life quite short and although i've only used it at home so far I can see this being a problem when I take it on a train journey and want to watch a film.
and the other problem i'm having is when I'm scolling on website I seem to automatically change the size of the display which is mildly annoying (although i'm sure there is a way of turning that shortcut off.
Lastly, I paid extra to have a blue laptop and opted for the darker blue colour, but it's so dark that in many lights it looks almost black anyway, in hindsight I would have opted for the powder blue...
