Dell XPS M1330 = BRILLIANT

Advantages: Excellent Screen, built-in webcam, very fast, never crashed (after 1 year, that's incredible)
Disadvantages: Slightly short battery life (but can easily be upgraded for very little money)

...This is a brilliant machine! I got mine with 4gb memory and a 250gb hard drive. I do all my coursework on this machine, but also use it as my games machine. EASILY runs both iTunes and The Sims 3 (a high RAM demanding game) at the same time. Excellent audio and visual quality with amazingly high volume potential speakers. Also has capacity for a 3G mobile broadband card (sim card like). Also, the design is very cool. I have the Product RED one, so mine is red color. Besides the color, Dell really took care on the design. It is just so pretty. To be honest, I don't really know about the OS and anything like that. But, as far as the speed of the laptop is concerned, it works so great! I never had any unexpected shutdown or close of a program. Since I upgraded to Windows 7, my battery life has increased, and my operating speed has sped up...

XPS M1330

Advantages: fully loaded features
Disadvantages: video card

...Red XPS M1330 is stunning. I think designers of this laptop thought well of the design. The features are good, I like the speed of it's Intel® Core? 2 Duo (Merom) processor. Also RAM is upgradable up to 4 G which is better for vista users. Camera quality is perfect with it's 2 megapixel resolution. Also the choices of having a 4 cell, 6 cell or 9 cell battery are better specially if you need a high powered laptop. Weight is minimal which is just 4 pounds. I also love the media direct software installed together with the system, it's good for watching dvd and blu ray devices. I wish Dell could lower the price but anyways you need to spent some fortune to get a computer fully loaded with good features. One thing I noticed is the video card used on this system, I hope Dell would change the NVIDIA card installed on it because of it's known...

An amazing laptop from Dell.

Advantages: Beautiful, Fast, Sturdy, Good graphics.
Disadvantages: Heavier than some.

...In the past i've never gone for a high end laptop but the £700 I spent was well worth the money. I had reservations about buying from Dell because I have personal experience of bad build quality from one of their earlier portable laptops, the C400. But I am more than happy with the sturdy feel of the XPS m1330. I ordered from Dell online and received my laptop within 7 days. It came in an XPS branded box. Inside was the laptop inside a slip case and the relevant accessories; power cable, earphones, manual in a leather wallet, screen cleaning cloth and all the relevant driver CD's. The fist thing you notice is the beauty of the laptop. Its matt black and silver aluminium finish makes it stand out as anything but a standard laptop. The aluminium also serves to give the laptop a solid feel. The laptop is fast. It runs windows vista...

Dell XPS M1530 laptop

Advantages: Great feature set, fast, GFX card, HDMI out
Disadvantages: keyboard/touchpad could be better

...I recently had a motherboard failure on my existing Dell Inspiron laptop and given its age, repair looked a bad move as one could buy a new laptop for less. However, once I decided to see what was available and given my two main criteria - a higher than usual resolution screen and three year warranty, I suddenly found the price spiraling upwards. After much searching I settled on an XPS M1530. The price on the Dell web site was around £1000 but a phone call to Dell resulted in quite a dramatic price cut to reflect my 'loyalty as a customer' and that it was a replacement for a failed (nearly four year old) unit. They probably won't thank me for saying what I paid but it was a done deal and a few days later it arrived. Features An Intel Core 2 Duo CPU running at 2Ghz and 2Gb of RAM, 250Gb SATA hard drive plus a 1680x1050 screen...

Amazing Dell XPS M1710

Advantages: 17" monitor, 5 in 1 memory card reader, WIFI
Disadvantages: Heavy and big

...Ive had the Dell xps m1710 ever since christmas and so far there ive liked it but there are disadvantages and are are advantages of the Dell XPS m1710. When i first got my laptop i got it with no Bluetooth and there was only a 2GB ram, Now i bought a Bluetooth moudle from the dell website for around £50 and i bought a 4GB ram of the dell website too. I have on my dell like any other new computers/laptops, Windows Vista mine is Windows Vista Ultimate which i think is very fast. The Advantages are... The screen is a 17" LCD monitor which is very good for watching movies and TV shows There is 7 music buttons on the front of the laptop which is very handy when you have your computer half closed and you dont want to flip it up and goto your media player to change the song or stop, play and pause or mute or just turn it up or down...

...i originally bought this laptop to get away from the desk and had high hopes for the XPG gaming Range of the Dell notebook range.... it doesnt disapoint. the keyboard is nice to touch and easily cleanable due to its chassis material, the design of the notebook is highly attractive, doesnt look bulky or ugly and comes in various colours (IIRC) my one is in silver and looks superb. everything is integrated, from the DUAL (yes dual!) headphone sockets, mic port, webcam, even has a mic included into the body! the accessories that came with it are also pretty cool, screen wipes, creative Ep-630 Headphones, case, a whole bundle of various CD's and the remote control is also a sweet item, being able to control music from the control is awesome!...

...I bought this laptop 4 months ago in June 2008 and I have been very impressed with it so far. The design is stylish and sleek and there are enough colour options to please most people. The best thing about Dell is that you can customise your laptop to your own optimum specifications so I opted for the best quality screen for watching video files and DVDs and upgraded the memory and processor to improve the performance of games. So far I have had no major problems although the charger adaptor has recently failed. However this is covered under the warranty and a replacement arrived within 2 days of calling the cutomer service hotline. Pros: Specifications can be customised to individual needs. ...We seem to have a contract with Dell at work, so I've been given several Dell laptops for my use. To be honest I liked the Fujitsu Siemens I had before much better than the last three Dells I was given, but I gave my last one back when I went on maternity leave. having gone back to work part-time now, I have been issued with a new one. And it's this: the Dell XPS M1330. As soon as it arrived on my desk it was obvious that it wasn't just another boring Dell. It looks much much cooler than the older Dell models. It has a 13.3in display and only measures a slender 318 x 238 x 33.8mm (WxDxH) with a weight of 2kg . Dell claim that this is the thinnest notebook in its class, but iti s wedge shaped so the thinness is not uniform on the laptop - i.e. iti is thicker in one place than it is in another - at its thinnest it is 22.1mm though...

Advantages: a nice gaming laptop
Disadvantages: no customer suport, I never actually recieved my laptop in the end

...All i can say from my dell experiance is, what customer suport??? I order a XPS 1730 at the begining of October, I am leaving for canada at the begining of November so wanted to make sure there where no delays. I was assured my laptop would arrive by the 22nd at the latest. I kept my eye on the ststus of my order and asked for several updates along the way. I was told everthing was fine (Que sale's person to insert head in sand) 22nd came and went no laptop. I recieved an update on the 23rd my order now to ship out on the 7th of November. I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to get a straight answer from dell, I have had calls and emails all saying different items where holding the order. No processor, no hard drive, no xps mother board!! sometimes being told it is being tested, only to recieve and email saying it was still being built...
