Asus Eee PC 1000H - One of the nicest netbooks to date

...I was very lucky to get our Asus Eee PC 1000H today. The version I have here is a 10-inch Windows XP version, with 1GB RAM and an 80GB hard drive. Having only just unboxed the tiny wonder and played with it for around one hour, this is my very early impressions. Firstly, the accessories you get in the box make it seem a lot better value than other offerings. The stumpy, yet high capacity battery should yield much longer runtimes than the 3-cell batteries shipping with other netbooks. You also get a nice little manual, a polishing cloth, Support CD and MS Works 9.0 licence. There is also a slip case, which is functional and means you can get out-and-about with your Eee very quickly. The 1000H unit is very very sexy. Asus Eee PC 1005HAG the 10.5 hour battery life sold me

Advantages: Battery life at 10.5 hours, bluetooth, design, larger storage, 802.11n Wi-Fi
Disadvantages: none

...The Asus Eee PC 1005HAG is an amazing little laptop from its design to its battery life and its abilities. Using Windows 7 you can even utalize the online storage feature wich of course opens up a world of difference when you use your Asus Eee PC 1005HAG for business or perhaps even family applications. However if you dont have Windows 7 there is a wonderful 250 G HD installed wich is alot of storage space by itself. This machine does also come with the windows 7 starter pack, to get you current on software. Internet searching is faster with the 802.11 n Wi- Fi which i find wonderful and has assisted me in my web applications and daily business dealings on the internet. Lets face it we are not known to be patient people these days. Syncronizing my Asus Eee PC 1005HAG with my Iphone is great using the built in blue tooth...

EEE PC - A must have

Advantages: Size, robustness, weight, Linux
Disadvantages: Screen estate

...What a cracking little machine. The way things are going with the sub laptop market. Although it runs on Linux, it is simple to boot up (in under 20 secs) and use from the moment you open the box, and you can run it on Windows if you need to. Although I wouldn't, as this version of Linux does all that you need and more, and saves you from all the security headaches that Windows can cause. Linux comes with built-in antivirus and firewall - you don't need separate programs. Linux is an Open Source software with a huge community of developers behind it, so there are now thousands of programs to run on Linux, and a support community which puts the large corporations to shame.
