Good notebook terrible customer service
Review of Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook P7230 by
Bearxlover
Advantages: Good Notebook but needs 2G memory
Disadvantages: Terribel customer service see review
...Before you buy the Fujitsu likebook 7230 please read my experience.
I bought the 7230 lifebook from Fujitsu direct a few weeks ago and had it configured for 1G of memory. I based this on their own user guide which says the machine has 1G of onboard memory under the keyboard which is not user accessible, and another slot on the back which is user accessible for another 1G. so i had planned to upgrage later when i found out how fast or slow it runs. turns out their online user guide is printed wrong and there is no slot under the keyboard and all the memory is in the user accessible slot on the back. So now if i want to upgrade i will have to buy a 2G chip and discard the 1G i have paid for instead of getting the 2G to start with. Which is what i would have done had i known from the start that the company changed the memory...

a truely portable laptop
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook S6410 - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: portability
Disadvantages: price tag
...I honestly cant pick any faults with this laptop at all, well except from the extremely high price tag, but if you’ve got the money to spend then what a machine to spend it on.
This Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook S6410 is a quite new type of laptop from the fujitsu siemens brand. These new laptops are called lifebook, and are especially designed for portability and super quick running speeds.
The design of this laptop is fantastic, its combination of three main colours makes it look a lot more modern than some of its predecessors and gives it a cool edge over its rivals.
A business mans laptop that looks cool instead of boring seemed to be something acers travel mates just weren’t designed to be and I don’t think acer could ever figure out how to get this balance, fujitsu however have, and it really shows.
The plastic...

Fujitsu lifebook E series
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook E360 - PII 333 MHz - 13.3" TFT by
jthesing
Advantages: quick nice design
Disadvantages: keyboard
...The Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook notebook is a nice looking and fast computer. The screen of this notebook is very large and is controlled by the special function keys. You have the possibility to use 2 pcmcia cards to use scsi equipment or to use a modem. The last notebook I had was a Siemens, but that was a less user friendly machine.
The E-series notebook can be equipped with a 4, 6 or 9 GB harddisk. One of the disadvatages of the lifebook is it's keyboard. The keys are not allways very logically situated. The insert and delete keys are for instance situated at the top of the keyboard. So correcting wronly typed words causes you to move your right hand out of the type area. Especially for quick-typing users this is time consuming....

A good value machine
Review of Fujitsu Siemens T Bird by
GarethAvery
Advantages: Good value, high spec
Disadvantages: Two faults, both fixed reasonably
...I bought my T Bird in November 1999 from Sainbury's and since then it has worked very well apart from two faults. The hard disk failed within a month (due to a bad batch apparently) and also within the warranty period the DVD drive stopped reading DVDs (but continued to work with CDs) On both occasions the service was completed reasonably and as these two products were not specifically Fujitsu I put them both down to 'another company'
I would certainly buy from Fujitsu again and notice that the same model (but with faster processor and larger HD) is being sold through newspaper adverts by a company called Under a Grand. Have a look at:

amazing laptop!!
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook E8410 - Core 2 Duo T7300 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by

Advantages: everthing about it!
Disadvantages: price!
...This laptop really is in every shape and form a business mans ideal laptop.
There really isn’t any downsides to this laptop at all, well except from the extremely high price tag, but if you’ve got the money to spend then what a machine to spend it on.

great, but pricey
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook S7210 - Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: price
...Fujitsu Siemens have been making laptops for a while now, when they started making them at first I was a little sceptical of how good they would be, because they had no other previous history in designing or making laptops.
However Fujitsu Siemens are now in my top list of laptops I would buy or recommend to people and probably just come in third under dell and Sony vaio laptops.
Fujitsu Siemens have made quite a few different models, there has been the amilo, the esprimo, and now, the life book.
All of these 3 different models have loads of other laptops branching out to suit your needs and different price ranges so there really is a lot to choose from.
The basic concept of the life book is a simple laptop that’s easy to carry around, without compromising on performance and that has great battery life to last you throughout all...

this laptop is not as good as you might think
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook C1110 - Pentium M 1.4 GHz - 15.1" TFT by
oriental_mei
Advantages: very fast
Disadvantages: many
...This laptop looks very cute and smart. its very fast.
it comes with windows XP which is very user friendly.
as this laptop is so big and powerful and holds alot of files; it can run out of battery quite easily therefore you cannot take it places and use it for a long time. id say if you were just typing, the laptop would last probably an hour/ hour and half tops. i have just recharged it and its already down to 85% battery power after 10minutes!!
it also comes with the biggest power adaptor ive seen for a while. its a big black thing that looks like a brick it is quite heavy and annoying to carry the both.
the keys on the keyboard are programmed differently than they say to be on mine. " is @ and ' is ^. i havent changed it yet partly because it doesnt tell you how and partly because i hardly use it now.
fujitsu seimens dont seem...

Fujitsu Scenic PC's
Review of Fujitsu Siemens Myrica Series by
mattboxsey
Advantages: Very small footprint / Ideal for limited space
Disadvantages: Only 3 PCI Slots and 1 Eisa (Shared)
...Whilst recently updating Workstations on my LAN we recently have purchased several Fujitsu Scenic PC's.
These machines have proven very reliable and efficient for the money that we have spent upon the units (£420.00 + VAT each)
Considering that these machines are running PIII550 processors with 64Mb memory and a 10Gb hardrive as standard they can handle most basic office aapplications required in a general office enviroment.
The unit comes with Windows 98SE pre-installed as standard, soundcard, keyboard and mouse.
The only disadvantage that we have discovered with these machines is that they only have 3 x PCI slots and 1 x EISA slot making expandability a little probelamatic for certain hardware requirements, but overall for general value for money and reliability I would recommend this machine as excellent value for money...

Experience Of Support
Review of Fujitsu Siemens AMILO M-6300 - C 1.2 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
mattboxsey
Advantages: Confusing call qualification / Information repeated several times
Disadvantages: Once the call had been logged and agreed the repair was turned around very quickly
...After recently having a problem with A Fujitsu laptop which was still in warranty I recently contacted Fujistu to arrange to have the machine looked at.
The problem with the machine appeared to be that the cable connecting the screen had fractured and needed replacing.
After navigating the Support call system and speaking to several people regarding this fault we appeared to travel full circle and go back to the beginning explaining the fault and symptoms.
Fujitsu seem to have a good support infrastructure and policy in place which just needs some fine tuning.
They need to ensure that all information is relayed as required, and to appreciate that the users placing the call have different levels of experience. (Being a support specialist, you resent being told that the fault is user error and to check the obvious even though you have...

A Lifebook to make Life Easier
Review of Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook T4210 - Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
Odysseus4
Advantages: Really small and easy to transport
Disadvantages: Gets a little hot plus finding a smaller enough case not easy!
...My husband bought this laptop to replace our large and ageing Toshiba laptop - without telling me I might add, but I am so pleased with it that I forgive him easily! For the technically minded (which I am not very) the following are the specs:
Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook T4120
Intel T2400 @ 1.83Ghz Core Duo
512mb Memory
12.1" LCD Display
CD/DVD Re-writer
Running Windows XP Pro Tablet PC Version
The main selling point for us (OK well for him) was the compact size and relatively light weight. The machine is fast and silent but does get rather hot if used for long periods - which means I need to get a lap tray for my husband's knees! Battery life (in the real world) is an acceptable 2 hours or so.
Now - what makes this laptop different from others on the market is that the screen rotates and folds down over the keyboard turning...
