...I used to have tons of problems with computers, big surprise! I have tried all of the major brands like Compaq, Acer, Dell, E-Machine, HP, etc. These have all been desktops. After shopping around I found the best deal I could possibly find. The LenovoR61I, It had all the features I could think of that I would ever need with a price I could afford! My only concern was the performance that it could have. I figured with all the features there had to be some draw back. I powered up the display and begun running random applications individually and several at a time. There was a split second lag however nothing to be worried about. I have had a few problems with this but all of my problems I had with this machine equal up to less than 1% of the problems I had with my other computers. In the rare event that you do have a problem you can just...

Review of LenovoThinkPadR61i
Advantages: Easy to use, runs smoothly, good battery life and high quality. Disadvantages: Some probelms with the wireless adapter.
...I have owned several different ThinkPad's over the years. I have enjoyed them all and found them to be extremely useful and reliable. I knew that I wanted a decent quality portable laptop that would be suitable for all the basics.
I have been using the laptop mainly for office related items such as documents and spreadsheets but have also been using it to store and edit photographs and videos. So far I have had no problems and that fact that it comes with a media card reader was very useful.
This version of the ThinkPad is pretty similar to the rest of the laptops in the series. There is little to no distortion with the screen and it is fairly bright and gives a high quality picture. I couldn't find any problems with the laptop as a whole, nothing is loose or flex's for the most part.
The R61 has pretty much all the ports...

Review of LenovoThinkPadR61i
Advantages: Speedy, Robust, Good graphics card, Connectivity Disadvantages: Not the prettiest of designs, Annoying keyboard layout w/ no Windows key and Fn/Ctrl key placement
...INTRODUCTION
I bought myself a used IBM / LenovoThinkpad T41 for £129 and although it's a pretty old machine (probably from 2004) and fairly low spec by today's standards, I still feel it was a bargain. This was from Cash Converters.
DESIGN
The machine, like all IBM (now made by Lenovo) notebooks are intended for business users and so the design is not particularly sleek but instead, have a very 'professional' look to them. They all seem to be black with a little bit of red on the button and either a red or blue knob for controlling the mouse pointer. Some people think they're on the ugly side but I actually quite like the look of the Thinkpads. I've noticed that all IBM / LenovoThinkpads look alike and have the same body, keyboard and use the same smooth black matte material rather than plastic that most other...
Advantages: Battery life, Wide screen Disadvantages: To heavy, really difficult to build from scratch.
...lighter for carrying around
Conclusions
This is a good laptop for a work environment. However I feel that for a home situation you can get better from other suppliers. The machine battery life is a a very good selling point and the wide screen makes looking at a machine to do your work a little bit easier.
However the weight of this laptop spoils the machine to me. Also from my IT support perspective Trying to build a machine is a lot harder then other models of machine.
Overall, I would probably avoid this model of machine. Simply because I know that a newer model of IBM laptops is available (R400) which is far lighter and does not seem to give the DVD drive problems.

Review of LenovoThinkPadR61i
Advantages: easy to use, long battery life Disadvantages: no mouse touchpad, slow due to security software
...found harddrive space no problem at all- I store music and work and photos on it, but very few and short videos, and haven't installed many games. The 512Mb RAM is possibly a little low- Lenovo automatically install software that regularly reminds you to back up your hard drive and defragment, etc- which is good, as it means you are more likely to do so, which is good for your machine, however bad as it obviously slows down the machine further. At startup, therefore, the machine is rather slow, however speeds up once everything has registered and the computer has sorted itself out.
Another useful thing with this laptop is a little light that you can switch on so that you can see your keyboard in the dark, if that is something you would need.
As with all laptops, this one has it's own allocation of function keys on the keyboard...

Review of LenovoThinkPadR60e
Advantages: High spec for low refurb price, Windows XP Pro, great build Disadvantages: Small hard drive, only 2 USB ports
...any other). It's highest resolution is 1024 x 768.
I think this is a great laptop. I would recommend looking for a second hand one of these rather than falling for the cheap supermarket high spec laptop thing. High spec yes. High build no. Where are all the parts when you need them? IBM is a well supported brand and the T42 Thinkpad is a popular model. I can see why....
Advantages: many unique features, robust, trustworthy Disadvantages: more expensive than some brands
...I bought this laptop on insurance, as my previous ThinkPad was stolen and I loved it so much that I couldn't bear to buy a different brand.
In my opinion, the LenovoThinkPad is the best laptop you could possibly buy for all-round performance, reliability, and features, but I will endeavour to make this review as unbiased as possible, and I will split it into different sections for easy reading.
LOOKS/DESIGN
We all know looks do matter, and the ThinkPad is nothing if not distinctive in design.
Unusually amongst modern laptops, the ThinkPad does not have sleek silver curves everywhere. Instead, it is a matt black cuboid, with a nice texture. Some people may not prefer this, as I have been told "It looks like it's from the 80s", but the understatedness of the design is much less showy than most modern laptops, suggesting there is...

Review of LenovoThinkPadR60e
Advantages: Good for media work, WideScreen quality Graphics. Disadvantages: Lenovo suck... totally.... This computer can only be used in air-conditioning.
...because of the heat problems. I find when not in my lap I have to "stand on its side" to allow the heat to radiate properly as it cannot be left on normal everyday surfaces in its normal position unless in air-conditioning, where it works quite well.
The microphone is very very poor .. veering on defective and recordings made are abysmal even when a good quality mike is plugged in.
The batteries on this range of computers were largely faulty however only a number were subject to a recall. I acquired my z61m from a batch-buy of these machines along with other colleagues. Amongst all of us only two have original batteries which are still operational. The Lenovo site's recall service is based on the serial number of the batteries. Although we all had the same computer (and presumably batteries) only some of us managed to avail...

Review of LenovoThinkPad Z61m
Advantages: Build Quility, Thinkpad Features, Good Performance. Disadvantages: Not flashy, slightly heavy/bulky
...I have so far been using this notebook for around 4 months. Here are my experiences:
Speed- I use this computer for word processing, internet-surfing, email, music, and running an eBay business. I find this laptop to be more than adequate for these tasks. If running Windows XP/Vista make sure you keep your drive defragmented- this helps a lot.
Look+Feel- This is, of course, what makes thinkpads legendary. The keyboard is simply the best I have ever used. It strikes the perfect balance between clunky and too light. High quality plastic is used throughout, as you would expect, and the screen has plenty of protection behind it. Ways to navigate include both a touchpad and trackpoint, although I would recommend a mouse for long periods of use.
Capacity- The 120GB is more than enough for my needs, although users with huge, lossless...

Review of LenovoThinkPadR60
Advantages: Durable, Powerful, Good Tablet, Amazing battery life, Never overheats, quiet, expansion capabilities, small lightweight, Disadvantages: old looking, bad graphics card, no CD/DVD drive, bad speaker position
...Personally, I have had a great experience with this laptop. I will start with the bad, which is only a few things, and then end with the good, which is LOADS of things.
First of all, the looks, like all IBM ThinkPad's, it looks hideous, or that is what I think. It is black, and has this weird, dull material on the back, which makes it look very old, like a spectrum from 10 years ago. It has this HUGE battery at the back, which makes it look horrible, if you remove the battery looks much better. When you look at it, it does seem as if it is from the 90s, and I personally think that is partly down to the IBM logo, which looks old, and reminds you of the time where computers were merely command lines, and the only thing that came out of the speakers, were beeps.
Also, the graphics card, is crap, that is really all I can say...
