MSI Geforce FX5900-VTD128 Graphics card
Review of MSI FX5900-VTD128 by Dave_UK

Advantages: Fast, Well-priced, Stable
Disadvantages: none

...Overview ***************** Today I will be reviewing the latest addition to my customized PC setup – MSI’s Geforce FX5900XT-VTD128 graphics card (bit of a mouthful, that one!) The board is manufactured by a company called MSI (Micro-star International) that many of you will have heard of. For those that haven’t, MSI are a massive computer electronics company, and manufacture all kinds of computer-related kit – from a vast range of motherboards and graphics cards, to optical drives such as CD and DVD readers/writers. My DVD writer is made by MSI – as is my motherboard (K7n420Pro, reviewed here on dooyoo). They make decent products at a decent price, and I am very happy with my purchases. This particular graphics card is built using NVIDIA’s Geforce FX5900XT chipset - more about that below… Chipset ***************** The Geforce FX... Read review

Advantages: Fast, cheap, stable, excellent support and v good manual
Disadvantages: Requires a minimum of Win ME upwards

Great overclocking board with annoying bugs
Review of MSI 975X Platinum PowerUp Edition - motherboard - ATX - i975X by ladforce

Advantages: Fast, Price, Layout
Disadvantages: Bios bugs, Enthusiasts board

...I chose this motherboard to replace my aging MSI neo2 platinum board. I chose to go with MSI as I had a very good experience with the neo2 running a 50% overclock on my previous CPU. Although this new 975x board did not have all the features of its competitors such as 2x 16x PCI-Express and a large number of sata ports (this board only has 5) I thought it would fulfill my needs as my primary concern was the overclocking potential and stability of the board. The board is presented well with a manual (actually readable and useful),a generous number of SATA cables (I counted 4 in my box) and various other bits and pieces such as ata cables, back plates etc. Installation of the motherboard was quick and thanks to the excellent layout I was able to remove the stock northbridge cooler and put my own waterblock on and also have my cpu water... MSI K9VGM-V AM2 Motherboard Review from a Retailer
Review of MSI K9VGM-V - motherboard - micro ATX - K8M890 by www.ishift.co.uk

Advantages: Reliable, Good Online Support/Updates, Affordable, Good Layout
Disadvantages: Only two SATA controllers, Sound & Graphics could be better

...We have stocked this MSI K9VGM-V motherboard for over 3 months now. And, to its credit, considering it's more of a budget board, we haven't had one failure with them. Considering the number we sell, that is very good! Good Points: Reliable Motherboard, Nicely laid out for keeping the inside of the PC clear of trailing cables, Cheap to buy, Simple BIOS & MSI offer what is called a 'Live Update' for its motherboards which works much better than some other manufacturers. Bad Point: Only two SATA controllers onboard, Onboard Sound & Graphics not quite as good as those offered by its competitors in the same catergory. All in all we'd say that this board is great for system builders who are putting together a home/budget type package but is probably unsuitable for the more adventurous computer user.... Read review

This is going to be technical so beware
Review of MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU - motherboard - ATX - KT266A by gadget_guy

Advantages: easy to use, VIA KT266A, DDR
Disadvantages: some parts of layout

.... This motherboard gives you the option of increasing the FSB in 1Mhz increases, which is really good. I had my Athlon XP 1600+ running at the same speed as an Athlon XP 1700+ and could go even further. The only thing about this is unlike some motherboards you can't overclock the FSB by itself, you have to overclock the PCI bus at the same time. Also you can only increase the Voltage setting up to 1.85Volts, 2Volts would have been nice, but this should be enough for most. ~~Layout~~ I definitely thing that MSI have spent a good deal of time when considering the layout of this motherboard. There are only a few minor niggles about it, but then no motherboard is perfect is it? Me being a system tweaker find one thing very annoying, because of my extremely long Hercules 4500 graphics card, I can't access any of the RAM slots without removing the Graphics... Read review

My MSI Notebook
Review of MSI Megabook M670 001UK - Mobile Sempron 3400+ 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by dbirse

Advantages: Really good calue for money
Disadvantages: Te keyboards too small and not set out too well

...I got this as a Christmas present last year as i needed a laptop to do school work surf the internet and just th usual sorts of things. This laptop is great for that and more. It comes with a 1.8 ghz AMD sempron processor which is pretty good for the £500 this laptop costs. It has 1 gb of ram and an 80 Gb hard disk which is big enough for the average home user. It has a 15.4" TFT monitor. It can play about 2 hours of DVD playback at full charge and it can do just under 3 hours while doing normal work on it. It's very good value for money but it does have bad things going for it aswell. The keyboard was the main let down for me as it has been crushed into a small space and i pretty hard to get used to it. They have tried to cram a whole numerical keypad onto the side of the keyboard which is only useful if you are doing alot... Read review

MSI K8N Neo4
Review of MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum/SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 SLI by Phil_Ransley

Advantages: Durable, easy to use, stacked with features
Disadvantages: Only four memory slots, slow speed with four memory modules

...I currently have this motherboard in my computer system. I have so far had no major technical issues with it and have enjoyed every minute. I am running it with a AMD 64 3800+, 4x512 MB PC3200 Kingston Hyper X memory modules, a Western Digital 10,000 RPM Raptor 69GB Hard drive, a bog standard Samsung DVD drive and a Nvidia 7800 GTX graphics card. The above components are all quite expensive and I knew I would have to choose a suitable motherboard to fit them into. I first came across the board whilst searching the internet, it seemed a reasonable price for the specs included. Now that I have it working I can tell you it runs just about anything you can find, well game wise anyway. I have never experienced any sort of system crash and the updates from MSI to bios and drivers have always installed without a problem. One of the most... Read review

AMD athlon, move over PIV
Review of AMD K7 (Athlon) by Sommazzi

Advantages: very good value for money
Disadvantages: not available yet in any higher than 1.5 ghz

...AMD now are on the brink of prdecessing thier main rivals Intel at the processor game. Their most recent processor the AMD Athlon 1.4 ghz has been a great success, and rivals the intel p4 chip with 600mhz more processing power Combined with a DDR (double data rate) motherboard, AMDs chip provides the ultimate solution for high end video editing and games. Compatable with a wide range of main board manufacturers including Gigabyte, Asus, msi and abit, the chip is widely available at low prices, just £90 for the 1.4 mhz chip, which has been proved to be faster than the PIV chip (on a DDR motherboard), and it costs £300 less. If you want a cheap pc with top specs then this processor is for you. With a bus speed of 133mhz and 10.5x clock multiplier, this chip will certainly top my pc upgrade list!... Read review
