...Extreme makeover does exactly what it says on the tin so to speek, it is a show that completely rebuilds a new house. The show is made in America and is aired on sky tv on uk style channel 246 and 247 and is on at various times most days. The programme starts off by showing you the families homes before the makeover and the conditions they put up with and live in, some are really bad. The host Ty and his crew then show you what the plans for the new home. Then they call in the bulldozers and completely demolish the house, I love this part of the show it just get stuck in and ripped to pieces. You are then shown the start of the new building, which doesnt take them long at all, not like it would be in England it would take us months to build!! It is now time for the big reveal, the families are taken round their brand new...

THE laptop to get.

Advantages: High specifictions, range of colours, free case and mouse
Disadvantages: Slightly heavy

...and wireless features, not to mention the free case, this laptop is extremely portable. It also comes also with a 120GB hard-drive which gives you plenty of space to store your files, music and other things. It has a place for headphones and a microphone. Also, two USB ports, fire wire and a memory card reader can be found along the sides of the laptop. There's also a DVD burner. The battery life is much longer than I expected at about 2 and a half hours. It also comes with a two-year warranty. I'd say this laptop was definitely one to get, especially for a teenager who needs one for High School or College. This laptop is also very durable, trust me because I stupidly dropped mine when I was standing up and it made an almighty bang, I thought for sure it would be damaged or broken... but nope. Not a scratch in sight and still worked...

Advent 4211c (re-branded MSI Wind)

Advantages: Cheap and easy to use
Disadvantages: No optical drive,battery not amazing

...The Advent 4211 is an often overlooked re-branded version of the MSI Wind. It is powered by the Intel Atom 1.6GHZ processor and has 1GB RAM as standard which I upgraded to 2GB. My version has the 80GB hard drive which is plenty of space for me. I find the 10.2in monitor just big enough to be comfortable and wouldn't recommend going for any Netbooks with 8in monitors as they would be a little small. It runs a cut down version of XP Home with ease and can cope with most general office type tasks with no problem. There is no optical drive so I purchased a very cheap CD drive which is fine if the Advent is a secondary laptop. I would recommend buying a more expensive optical drive if you don't have access to another laptop. The biggest problem I had with the Advent was when I crashed it. It is also faster when uploading the photos to your laptop or pc as long as your pc has good spec of course. Now obviously not all cameras take Sd cards but fear not Sandisk make a superfast Extreme III compactflash card also and most cameras will take one or the other. I am sure they will also have a version for other card types too if not now then definitely in the very near future.
