Medal of Honor

Advantages: Action packed story, great set pieces, authentic recreation of Afghanistan warzone
Disadvantages: Too short, lacks enough sign posting, story can be confusing

...When rumours of a non WWII Medal of Honor first started circulating, I like many others got excited about a series which has been lacking invention since its initial success on the PSOne. The shift change to Afghanistan and the Tier 1 operators is to EA's credit and with Dice developing the multiplayer mode I was optimistic when I picked up this game. Unfortunately, as with many games which receive such a fanfare prior to release, Medal of Honor is surprisingly good in parts and disappointingly confusing in others. I wanted to love this game but I ultimately feel that the majority of gamers will end up feeling a little bit cold by this release. Story Medal of Honor is set in Afghanistan in the midst of the current ongoing conflict with the Taliban. Suffice to say this has in itself provided the game quite a lot of publicity however...

Honoring the Promise

Advantages: lightweight romantic read that doesn't disappoint, suitable for teens as well as adults
Disadvantages: not as deep as some romance manga titles, but to be expected for the YA market

Advantages: Fast paced shooter, reality at its best, fun and intense multiplayer
