...My dad was looking for a new laptop as he had just changed his job and his old laptop was a company laptop. The old laptop was a Dell so at first he looked at Dell laptops as he hadn't had any problems with his old laptop and thought it would be a good idea to stick with them because he trusted their name. He then saw an article in one of his pc magazines on Sony VAIO laptops. He looked into this further, liked the specs of the laptops and their prices for what you get and decided that was the type of laptop he wanted to get. VAIO Sony's range of laptops goes under the name of VAIO. There are 8 different series of laptops each with their own specialities as such. Top Marks for Top Spec Sony SZ

Advantages: Build quality, speed and screen
Disadvantages: Not so great graphics, No DVI

Cons * Screen resolution isn't great; although is the maximum for this size screen. * Vista is a very Black operating system when running Aero, and this laptop is also very black - makes it quite dull to look at. * Vista + Sony = BAD. * No media buttons? *No DVI-D interface. Still uses dated VGA. * The built in memory card reader only supports Sony Memory Stick Duo and Pro Duo now (although there's a plus too) * Sony only put a 64MB 8400M GS in it; so below par graphics. My Review of the Sony SZ2XP/C

Advantages: Great Portability and Amazing Power
Disadvantages: Screen could be classed as flimsy for heavy handed people

...Hi, i bought this laptop in the summer, and i can now say that it is the best laptop i have ever had. When i first turned it on, and went throught the usual register windows etc, it was a breeze to use, and its sheer speed was clearly visible. When i got to the windows home screen, i could see allthe software which sony had installed on the system and thought to myself....great! I'd better spend an afternoon on this. So in the end i spent around 4 hours removing all the junk that comes pre-installed on it. Anyway, after that, i restarted the system, and to my amazment, it returned to the windows home screen in around 1 minute. This was amazing for me, as most of the computers i have had in the past, didnt even come close to this speed. The functionality of this system is also amazing. For a laptop weighing only 1.69Kg...
