...The ToshibaSatellite L500 is the same as most other toshiba laptops. It looks stylish and can do all the basic functions that you would want for a laptop. However, when you use it, you dont feel very comfortable because it feels very cheap. The keyboard is very flimsy and feels like it is about to break every time you type something and the mouse pad and buttons do not respond well. However, the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard is great as it makes it so easy to type numbers. You can buy this laptop with a range of processors and sizes of harddrive so you can choose the one which suits you best. The display is actually very good but the battery life could have been improved. On my model it will last for a maximum of 2.5 hours on its lowest power setting.

Toshiba has its popular range of satellite series notebooks and now sometimes ago they launched business notebook in 17" screen range with latest features and better performance. Due to technology growth, notebook doesn't remain latest one after 5-6 months. So that every notebook that has launched today will be out dated after half an year. Upgradation of notebook is not easy and maximum peoples don't like this as they either go for new product or keep satisfy with old one. SO we can't say that this is new one as an evergreen...

...i first bought a Toshiba around about 4 or 5 years ago, it was a toshiba tecra m3, it was a lovely laptop until i dropped it and broke it, i decided that i would replace it with another toshiba because of the previous good reliability i had got from the machine, i thing that attracted me to this laptop was firstly the fact it was an operating system upgrade for me and secondly the superior specifications, the only down side being that there is no integrated bluetooth and trusted security platform, i found that the offers that were available at the time of purchase were very reasonable and i feel i got great value for money, i also think that the designer of this laptop has taken very great care with the general look and feel of the laptop and have put a lot of thought into the hardware they have supplied and it holds pride of place...
Advantages: Built in webcam and microophone. 17 in screen, reasonable size. Disadvantages: not really any.

The laptop has an integrated microphone and webcam, making it ideal for making video calls from as well allowing for a pretty cool face-regognition software for log-on, removing the need for a password, this saves me an incredibly vital 2 seconds. :p. Although I suppose if you add it up...
All in all this is a better than average and fairly cheap laptop which is well worth buying....

...that law legal. So the laptop, it's got plenty of positives and only a few negatives. And if you've read my other reviews, I like to get the negatives out of the way first.
NEGATIVES
I'll get straight to the point, the graphics card is seriously bad, there's no way around it. It's a new thing where your computers RAM is used to power some of the graphics, like video and pictures. However this won't work with high-end games like the Call of Duty series or Crysis. This however, isn't a laptop you'd buy if you were wanting one for gaming, so it's not a major draw back. Another bad point is the durability, which isn't great. The lid can be pushed in, revealing it is fairly hollow apart from the screen and its components. I thought this a bit stupid as Toshiba are just wasting money making more material, why not just make it thin and tight guys...

...I have had this laptop for a little while now and have already had to send it back to Toshiba for repair! not a good start.
When i first got this laptop i thought that it was too good to be true for the price and i was right, maybe it is just my luck but i do not rate this laptop very high.
At first with not many files or programmes on it it was a perfect laptop, ran fast and had great Wifi signal, as soon as i downloaded an AVG it started to run VERY slowly. When i say slowly i mean slow, i could start up the laptop go make a sandwich and a cup of tea and it would still be loading when i got back, if you do not download an AVG then it is perfect!
the visual display on this laptop is top quality and the sound output, not only this but the battery life is quite good for such a high output laptop which is very pleasing...
Advantages: FREE, does everything I need it to do! Disadvantages: None really

Comes with everything you need to operate your lap top and a lot more besides I am sure. Internet security McAffe and Microsoft Office are only free trials, good to get you going, but you will need to renew after trial period. Personally I think Microsoft should come with all lap tops, I think it's daylight robbery... but that's another story!

There is a HD-DVD drive built in because Toshiba was a company responsible for creating these disks, but they did not take off and a Blu-Ray drive would have been a better option. But it still works in all the normal ways that a DVD-ROM driver would and plays all DVDs and CDs.
There is a dual core processor located inside which helps to run the Vista operating system, but at times it is very slow. This is generally the case when there are multiple windows open. But saying this, it can handle most tasks very easily and quickly e.g. opening and using Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
The overall design of the laptop I would say is very good. With the addition of Harman/Lardon speakers it means that it has excellent sound quality when playing music, videos...
