Advantages: Ease of use, memory capacity Disadvantages: Quality, feel, value for money
...The ToshibaSatelliteL500 is the same as most other toshiba laptops. It looks stylish and can do all the basic functions that you would want for a laptop. However, when you use it, you dont feel very comfortable because it feels very cheap. The keyboard is very flimsy and feels like it is about to break every time you type something and the mouse pad and buttons do not respond well. However, the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard is great as it makes it so easy to type numbers. You can buy this laptop with a range of processors and sizes of harddrive so you can choose the one which suits you best. The display is actually very good but the battery life could have been improved. On my model it will last for a maximum of 2.5 hours on its lowest power setting.
Overall, this laptop is reasonable at most things but not...
Advantages: Cheap, efficient, simple to use, excellent brand Disadvantages: Appearance
...Being a student, I required a cheap and reliable laptop and the ToshibaSatelliteProL300-153 has turned out to be nothing less. I previously owned a sony vaio, thinking I required a high spec laptop, but I managed to spill water on it and it went bust within its first month, and the damage wasnt covered by its guarantee! This toshiba has yet to let me down, I have had it for over 3 months, filled with music and documents and it has not slowed at all, fulfilling all my needs.
The large 120Gb memory has proved to be more than enough and but I would consider increasing the 1Gb ram if the laptop is required for any creative use or gaming. I would also point out that the laptop does not look overly flash, if people are looking for something pretty.
Being a Toshiba product you can rest assured the product is durable and I have found their...

* Operating system Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition (pre-installed, Toshiba-HDD recovery)
Vista, now I had heard so much about it, but had never experienced it for myself. Truth is, I quite like it though it takes some getting used to. For those who haven't grown up with computers it may take longer to get used to. However, if you're like me then you'll just get on with it and learn to love it.
Vista came pre-installed and I have had no problems with it at all.

Available from toshiba-europe.com but online there are very few stockists of this particular model.
Depending on availability I know that PCWorld, Dixons and Currys all stock Toshiba products.
The price range of the Toshiba Equium L300 Series is £350 - £400 generally.
If you cant find this particular model but are interested in other models of similar specifications here are some models that perhaps fit the bill:

ToshibaSatellitePro A300-109 (Faster processor and double the internal memory).
ToshibaSatelliteProL300-154 (Faster processor and double memory). More hard disk.
Anyway the L300-146 model...
Advantages: Sturdy design Nice Blue colour Get a lot for your money Disadvantages: Overheating/crashing problems experienced Memory upgrade was necessary Required a lot of tweaking to get 'right'
...The ToshibaSatellitePro A60 laptop is ideal for entry level home users, and possibly students who have some time on their hands to sort stuff out. I wouldn't say it was suitable for the lower end of the business market, as Toshiba seem to be targeting with this product. I could be wrong however, maybe I was just unlucky!
I have had mine for 8 months now, after previous satellite old faithful, which I had owned for about 7 years, gave up the ghost in the middle of a project, and I needed a cheap laptop quickly. I was impressed by the blue design which veers away from the boring black/grey you're used to seeing on the budget end notebooks.
For the budget it was a toss up between this or a Dell, and in the end I decided to go for the Tosh which wasn't the bottom end of the scale like the Dell was for the same money.
Due to...
Advantages: Value For money Disadvantages: No Bluetooth
...i first bought a Toshiba around about 4 or 5 years ago, it was a toshiba tecra m3, it was a lovely laptop until i dropped it and broke it, i decided that i would replace it with another toshiba because of the previous good reliability i had got from the machine, i thing that attracted me to this laptop was firstly the fact it was an operating system upgrade for me and secondly the superior specifications, the only down side being that there is no integrated bluetooth and trusted security platform, i found that the offers that were available at the time of purchase were very reasonable and i feel i got great value for money, i also think that the designer of this laptop has taken very great care with the general look and feel of the laptop and have put a lot of thought into the hardware they have supplied and it holds pride of place...
