...Notebook Review Toshiba Satellite U400-138 -The little wonder; Laptop at its best! Why to buy? Let me first tell you that I had owned laptops before (5 of them). A month back I purchased an HD Camcorder and thus, started shopping for something more powerful, to do my HD Movie Editing. I knew it was time for a core2duo model. Toshiba Satellite Pro L500

Advantages: Fast, wide range of extra features, comprehensive instruction manual
Disadvantages: Other than the hefty price tag, none at all

This particular model has been discontinued, however this review is still of relevance to the rest of the L500 series (in particular, the L500-1RJ). I'd like to start by pointing out that this laptop does not actually belong to me - it's my papa's. Despite this, I use it the most (even though I have a desktop at his house and a laptop of my own). Toshiba Satellite Pro A60

Advantages: Sturdy design Nice Blue colour Get a lot for your money
Disadvantages: Overheating/crashing problems experienced Memory upgrade was necessary Required a lot of tweaking to get 'right'

...The Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 laptop is ideal for entry level home users, and possibly students who have some time on their hands to sort stuff out. I wouldn't say it was suitable for the lower end of the business market, as Toshiba seem to be targeting with this product. I could be wrong however, maybe I was just unlucky! I have had mine for 8 months now, after previous satellite old faithful, which I had owned for about 7 years, gave up the ghost in the middle of a project, and I needed a cheap laptop quickly. I was impressed by the blue design which veers away from the boring black/grey you're used to seeing on the budget end notebooks.
