...Access 97 is a very good database package for any user that requires to create ad-hoc databases. It has wizards that allow you to easily start using access to create simple databases to store information (ie. Names, Addresses & Tel No's). Once you have built your databases there are a couple of ways to enter data, either directly using the Table or by creating a Form (this presents the data in a nicely layed out form). You can also link to data from other sources, for example using ODBC you can link to data from other databases. Also built into Access are report writing and query facilities that allows you to create reports based on selection criteria from the data that you have entered. This is a good product.... ...The PNY Attache 128mb data storage key is a fine piece of kit, which is a must have for anyone still carrying around data on a floppy disk. This data key slots easily into any USB connection point and then you can use it as you would a floppy drive - that is if you are running Windows 2000 upwards. I bought the PNY data storage key when I was still running the Windows 98 operating system and the system refused to accept the key, even with the drivers that PNY recommended you download from their very own website. This said, I have never had a problem on any system running Windows 2000 or above. The key holds the equivalent of roughly 80 floppy disks, comes with a handy strap (that can be disconnected if you wish) to keep round your neck and is extremely light. My only gripe is that the protective cap is easy to misplace or lose... Read review

...The Iomega Jaz drive is a good solution for those who want to exchange dynamic data from one computer to another. The Jaz drive is a fairly quick device. It is not as fast as a harddisk, but certainly quicker than a tape or a CD-ROM. You can use a Jaz disk as a booting device, which gives you the opportunity to work with several operating systems. Do not use a Jaz-disk as a permanent storage device. The disks are quite expensive and need to be refreshed every two or three year. For permanent data storage a CD is much more suitable. But for dynamically exchanging data a Jaz-drive is very nice. Disadvantage of the Jaz is its noise. The disk rotates at high speed in the Jaz-player that makes a high rustling sound. If the Jaz is in its standby state it is sometimes not approachable. You have to eject and insert it again to get access... Read review

...The 3210 has a data connection port built in to the circut board that allows you to connect the phone to a PC. The data cables allow you to unlock your phone with unlocking software to use different network's SIM cards in a phone locked to a particular service provider. Unlocking with a data cable is now not neccesary as there are websites that provide the unlocking codes for free, calculated from the phone's IMEI number and the network code. The cables are still useful as they allow you to activate features hidden in some models, such as the hidden games; react and logic, plus you can activate the line 2 facility and enable the vibrate function, with the Nokia Profile programme. To allow your phone to vibrate you still have to fit a vibra motor. The cable also allows you to download operator logos, picture messages and ringtones... Read review

...A Data Cable for the Nokia 3210 is first and foremost of use to someone who wants to personalise their phone, namely for the uploading of oplogos, welcome logos, and ringtones, and for copying the phone book, although given the 3210's sim based phone book, it is not as if the capacity is that great. As the cable connects via the pinouts, which in turn requires the back cover to be removed, it can hardly be looked upon as the most satisfactory solution. Furthermore it serves no real data purpose given the fact that there is no provision for data transmission on the 3210. As a non-manufacturer approached item, it is also not going to do a lot to preserve your phone warranty. Where it will save you money is if you want new logos and have Logomanager, although many logos are available free over SMS gateways. This item is not really worth... Read review

...I used Microsoft Access for a GCSE Information Systems project and was able to produce high quality output. Advantages 1. Setting up a new database for beginners is quite complex but once you know how to do it and with extra help provided onscreen it is easy to understand. 2. There is a wide range of verification techniques that can be used to make sure the data is put in to the database correctly. 3. Analysing - Calculations and complex interrogations can be easily made 4. Forms are used for data-entry into a table - more user friendly with GUI which is better than Claris Works – Graphics and text can be added 5. Data Access Pages can be created for viewing and working with data from an Internet or intranet 6. ...Everyone seems to be still waiting for the much overhyped Getpounds adverts to begin. There seems to be no sign of them yet. I often wonder if this type of build up is designed to collect as much user data as possible then go bust and use the data for other purposes. Is this just a clever marketing tool or are the users actually going to make money from this ? It makes you wonder, not that I am accusing anyone, but things do seem to be a long time coming. ...I bought my data cable with the intension of unlocking my 3210 for use with another network. I did more than I ever thought was possible. For example, I unlocked the phone very easily, I uploaded my own operator logo, I changed my ringtones, I edited my phone book entires, I sent normal SMS, Flash SMS and Flashing SMS text messages via the cable PC. Not only did I customised my own phone, I was changing the logos and ringtones of my friends phone as well. I was able to send logos, picture messages, flashing SMS text messages, to all my friends. I enabled the full menus such as Vibrating Alert, Net Monitor, Own number sending, line 1 and line 2 The cable can customise the phone in many ways. The only draw back is that the 3210 is not a data phone, therefore you cannot make data calls whilst using the cable. If you want change your... Read review
