...After some adds of the 108Mbps capabilities of the DWL-G650 and DWL-520 cards I decided to buy one. Unlucky me! I received the DWL-G650+ and DWL-520+. Apparently, these are the versions D-Link reserves for out-side the US. Trying to upgrade to 108Mbps as promised in the adds was unsuccessful. I didn't even find any info on the G650+ cards on the .COM website. Mails to D-Link remained unanswered. After some research in the newsgroups, I found out the following : The DWL-G650+ and DWL-520+ are using a different chipset than the G650 (the "+" is very important). You will not find this info on the D-Link website because the "+" has two major implications : 1:because the G650+ uses a cheaper chipset (Motorola) it has currently no 108Mbps support as its bigger brother does (G650, no "+"). 2:because of this chipset it has a very... ...Of all the myriad forms of hardware components the graphics tablet is one of the least known and used and after my recent experiences I now know why this is so. When I went hunting for a graphics tablet to buy I was staggered by the total lack of choices. In the end after many hours of fruitless searching I finally came across the Nisis range of GT's. Initially I opted for their larger and more expensive product the G6 as I was under the mistaken impression that having a larger work surface would make life just that little bit simpler. When I picked up the GT I was confronted with a box about the same size as an extra large take-out pizza and believe me when I say that the GT took up about 95 % of the dimensions of the box. With the swivelling monitor, you can …for example….take a low level photo without having to get right down to it, by just lowering down the camera, and facing the monitor upwards, to view your shot. This saves you from having to struggle to get up from a low position.(and you know that can be a problem when you get older!!!!) Also, if you are taking a portrait of yourself, you can sit in front of the camera and see your self in the monitor. Well, I looked up the internet for info on Canon cameras with this feature…….there were many different models, but the one that caught my attention was the Canon Powershot G5. Advantages: Beautiful, small, rock solid, fast, quality construction, full of features, right there with the big boys on performance.
Disadvantages: none really. once hooked with a Shuttle then there is no going back.

...These are my first impressions of the new SN41G2 V2.0. I had the Shuttle SN41G2 V1.0 Black Special Edition since last june. I loved is so much but it had some annoyances. Last week I managed to short circuit the motherboard which rendered the AGP and PCI slots useless, but strangely enough everything still works including the built-in graphics and I have been using it till this morning. I ordered the new SN41G2 V2.0 and got it this morning. I have to say that the first impression was that the silver colour looks much better that the old SN41G2. It looks more whiter if that makes sense. ...On the face of it, the PB G4 is awesome. I mean that in the least "college-kid" sense. It literally inspires awe! The aluminium casing is sheek and smooth. The whole unit is a masterpiece of design. The screen is beautifully bright and the keyboard illluminates with finesse and style. Hang on, isn't it a computer? This is my point. The PowerBook looks so good, it almost diguises the fact it isn't really a very good computer. I have owned mine now for nearly a year, since November 2005. Due to the nature of what I do, a mac is necessary and I was slightly pleased to actually be getting one. Although I'd saved long and hard, I thought it a worthwhile investment to put nearly £2000 on the table. However, I haven't had value for money. Advantages: very light, cheap, colour, camera, video calling, on the 3G network, quality phone, pay as you go

...went straight ahead and brought it. This phone is on the 3G network, so I could call people up with a 3G mobile, and they could see me, brilliant! This was also one of the first pay as you go phones from 3G that I had ever seen, and because it wasn’t on a contract, when I did buy it, it was mine. I had always thought that 3G phones were really expensive, until I found this one. Most other 3G phones that are similar to this one are about £200 anyway, and they all do the same thing. The only difference with this one is that it’s made by NEC, and it’s a little big as well. ...Well the G4 Powerbook has finally arrived and isn't it a tasty bit of kit? Apple has managed to squeeze the brilliant G4 Processor into a one inch thick, sleek as you like, titanium sex machine. This is probably the best built laptop i've ever seen for professional use. The clean lines of it's rugged titanium body are a departure from the previous Powerbook designs which were curved and more bulky. It's also a million miles away from the design of the iBook, Apple's highly successful consumer laptop. The iBook, although probably the most durable laptop in the world has been criticised for looking like an electronic handbag and tends to scare off the 'straights'. ...off my hands for 30 quid, so at £50 it’s a cheap upgrade. LINKSYS WIRELESS-G BROADBAND ROUTER (WRT54G) As you’ll see, they’ve streamlined the name of these things in the last year or so! This is a typical Linksys job to look at, being of a common corporate stackable design about the size that modems used to be, with a couple of ‘1st generation’ rubber cell-phone antennae sticking out of the back. This one doesn’t quite have the full array of pretty lights that its predecessor had, but this has enabled then to make it a lower profile than my old one. Its power comes from the usual outboard mains adapter, enabling the Cisco, the parent company to supply more or less the same equipment worldwide.
