Rated: NeXXXt
Advantages: Lots of big R&B tunes
Disadvantages: A few average tunes
...?Rated Next? was the 1997 debut from the R&B trio Next. Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tweety, T-Low and R.L. broke through with the single, ?Too Close?, which in the UK was more famously covered by the Pop band, Blue. On this album, you have them do the most explicit R&B you are likely to hear, to get you right into the feel of what they are singing about.
1. ?Intro?
2. ?Too Close?
I expect that you will be familiar with the Blue version, if you don?t remember the original, but one this one you actually feel exactly what they are going through, and in this one, unlike the Blue version has them go at it with explicit lyrics to tell exactly what they mean when they have girls grind up on them for the slow dances in the clubs. It is a killer tune, and begins the album off in a great way.
**Five Stars**
3. ?Butta Love?
I would...

The Rating Game
Advantages: See opinion
Disadvantages: See opinion
...Reading and rating opinions is rather more difficult than it might first appear. Your name will be clearly displayed next to the rating you give and you want to ensure that the rating is honest and impartial, otherwise people may not take you seriously when it comes to rating opinions you have written yourself.
Firstly, try not to be influenced by the ratings left already by other members. Read the opinion through and base your rating decision entirely on how useful YOU found the opinion to be. Ask yourself whether the piece provided enough detail? Did it tell you everything you needed to know? And most importantly, did you learn from it? Would it influence you in trying the product or service? Was the advice offered impartial and honest?
Remember that everybody has their own writing style and because the opinion may not have been...

Rate Me High & I'll Rate You High? Don't Think So
Advantages: helps you learn from others
Disadvantages: none
...Ciao is a consumer review site. Potential consumers come here to get advice on cameras, TVs, travel destinations, member advice, mobile phones, books, films, etc. The more people that come to the site, the more they will click on adverts and banners on the site, the more revenue is generated for the company and the better it is all for all who write here. The more coherently and informatively a review is written; the more reads it will generate as highly rated reviews go to the top of the list when someone does a search.
I've been writing here for about five years now. I enjoy writing reviews and have learnt over the years to accept constructive feedback from my peers on the sites I write for as well as to be able to give constructive feedback myself. Feedback is a much better word than criticism, don't you agree?
I...

This Reviewing, Rating, Commenting Issue!
Advantages: Makes reviews and ciao better generally.
Disadvantages: hmmm.....
...Only five Ciaoists wrote a review on this topic. I am the sixth person as at this time. So I wondered: why haven't we have so many reviews on it? The issue of Reading, Rating and Commenting on a review has been a long standing one. In fact I shall say right from when ciao was lunched. I may not have been around at the time, but I strongly believe that Ciaos existence relied solely on these three issues. I wonder If people don't read, rate and comment on reviews we write, then there won't be buyers of these product we review, and that is why I agree on torr's review when he wrote :
''Ciao relies for its existence on revenue from advertisers who take space - or hyperlinks or pop-ups - on its pages. The readiness of advertisers to advertise, and the rates they pay, depend partly on the relevance...

ratings and comments !!!
Advantages: A site that offers great oppurtunites and a great source for consumers.
Disadvantages: innapropriate ratings and comments.
...*FINALLY MOVED! THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE RETURNED TO RE-RATE AND COMMENT!*
This site is so vast and so detailed it would be near impossible to review the whole site in detail and complete it as one review.
For this reason, I have decided to review one area of it.
However it would be wrong not to offer a brief summary of the site as a whole.
The site presents itself as a consumer community; members of the public are offered the opportunity become a member, create reviews and complete surveys on a terrific number of products available on the market today?. with the added bonus of getting paid for it.
These reviews are available for the public and members to read and rate accordingly.
I would like to highlight that that really was a BRIEF summary (intentionally).
The area I have chosen to review, is the ?ratings...

To Rate or to Rant, that is the question
Advantages: See below
Disadvantages: See Below
...Having read a few opinions on how people go about rating and commenting on reviews, I thought I would throw my hat into the ring. Now I'm not saying my way is the best way, as everyone has their own individual criteria for rating and commenting, and no one's is right or wrong, but this is the way which works the best for me.
WHY BOTHER
══════════
Before I give you my thoughts on rating and commenting, have you ever considered why we bother? There are loads of reasons to spend time reading and rating other member's reviews, with the foremost one being to help Ciao to become an effective consumer tool. Ciao relies on our ratings so that it can provide the consumers with the best information and opinions to assist them in making a purchase. If consumers stop using Ciao...

UPDATED Rate on Merit
Advantages: Its helps the site, It helps your own opinions to get read. It is Vital for the site.
Disadvantages: Don't revenge rate
...Oh well, I thought I would carry on with my updating of old opinions, the original opinion is below and because of the mixed rating it received I thought I would try and add my extra gained knowledge, since the original was written.
How should you rate an opinion?
Well, I guess this is all down to personal taste and things like that, but I will tell you my way of rating an opinion. When reading an opinion I look for 3 things: How well is the opinion actually written i.e. Spelling, Typo’s, etc. I will then look at how helpful the content of the opinion is and could more have been added and finally, I make sure that the opinion is not copied, if it is, I will automatically give a Unhelpful rating, as there is nothing worse than to see cheats stealing opinions and getting a load of Very Helpfuls.
How well is the opinion...

rate and comment appropriately
Advantages: rating can be useful for getting yourself noticed
Disadvantages: can be misused
...This op should have been a celebration of reaching the 350 op mark, although I have a feeling that it make court controversy, as many of the ops on this subject appear to have done. Rating is potentially more open to abuse than any other single aspect of Ciao, with new instances of "You rate mine, I'll rate yours" cropping up daily, spreading in the worst instance to clicking cartels/rings whereby a group of Ciao users will rate every opinion written within their circle. However despite this abuse, rating ops still has a very important function for Ciao, namely it helps to qualitatively rank users rather than quantitatively. Unless a user is exploiting the system via a clicking ring/cartel thereby boosting his earnings, the ratings he receives from others can greatly influence his future success at Ciao.
Therefore every rating counts...

Formulating a comment and rating
Advantages: A well-placed comment can add a great deal to an op, gets your name well known
Disadvantages: Scope for abuse - though this is usually picked up pretty quickly by the admins
...You might not think it when you first join, but rating and commenting on other's opinions, although bringing no monetary reward in themselves, are possibly the most worthwhile aspects of Ciao. Used properly, they can bring your name to the attention of your fellow members far more quickly than writing alone; the impression that you will be giving is of someone who cares about what other people think - and that is certain to go down well with your fellow Ciao-ers.
=RATING=
Let's look at rating first. The single most important thing to remember here is that you are judging the *usefulness* of the opinion, not whether you agree with it. For example, I happen to believe that those who complain about UK petrol prices are in general misguided, but I would be entirely willing to give a "very helpful" rating to an opinion that put...

Why, Where, How, When, Who and What to Rate.
Advantages: Makes Ciao database more useful to consumers, encourages community participation
Disadvantages: Sometimes people get upset with correct ratings
...WHERE TO RATE AND COMMENT?
If you're new to Ciao, you may not even realise that as a member you can 'rate' other reviews according to their helpfulness. You can find the buttons by scrolling down after the end of each review. They're marked as 'Off Topic', 'Not Helpful', 'Somewhat Helpful', 'Helpful', 'Very Helpful' and 'Exceptional'. For the purposes of this review, and for general usage around the site, they're abbreviated respectively to OT, NH, SH, H, VH and E.
Clicking one of these will register your rating, and your name will show at the side of the review in the list of people who have given the same rating. If you clicked the wrong one by mistake, or if at a later date you decide to change your rating, that's easy to do - just click one of the different buttons and your rating will change.
