I bought this game from www.play.com in January 2009 for £17.99 (the price has gone up somewhat now, to £35, which is maybe a testament to the game) and have loved every minute I have played on it. The game makes great use of the Wii balance board, but if you don't own one of these you can still play just as well using solely the Wii remote. The concept of the game is to ride down snow slopes of various different countries, passing challenges and unlocking new slopes and characters. You get set certain missions for each destination and when you pass you move onto a different location. ...When I saw this game in my local games shop I wasn't impressed by its outward appearance, however the price was right and they didn't have anything else appealing so I bought it and was pleasantly surprised. The basic premise behind the game is that you race on your snowboard through 8 different courses at first(bonus courses awarded when these are completed) doing tricks along the way to win money in order to buy more boards. Miyamoto took the genious design team possibly made the best N64 racer, and exchanged the Kawasaki Jet-Ski’s for Lamar Snow boards. No, literally, that’s what they did. 1080 Snowboarding can be best described as Wave Race 64… in the snow. 1080 retains the same options and game play modes that were featured in Wave Race 6. Miyamoto and the design team did obtain new licenses for this wintry racing game. As mentioned, Nintendo signed on Lamar to provide models of their Snow boards for use in the game (my favorite being the Tahoe 155). Not only did they manage to obtain usage of the snowboards, but they acquired rights for Tommy Hilfiger clothing! The Llandudno Ski & Snowboard Centre is owned and run by John Nike Leisuresport. It is situated on the Great Orme about 415 feet above sea level so before you even begin to think about skiing, snow boarding etc. you have a fantastic view of Llandudno Bay and the Irish Sea. ...I brought this camera for a recent snowboarding trip, I didn't want to take a digital camera in case I dropped it in the snow, so I brought this relatively cheap APS camera. this camera is very simple to use and has some nice features. the on button is a slide switch, so when the camera is turned off it covers the lens and disables the shutter button. this basically means you cant take any pictures when the camera is in your pocket and you wont have a scratched screen either. when I was on my snowboarding trip I used ISO 400 films and I got some really excellent shots, they were clean, crisp and was no blurring, even when we were carving and spraying snow into the air. if anyone is going snowboarding and doesn't want to take their expensive digital camera then I would recommend this camera. ...SSX On Tour is a the 4th game in the SSX snowboarding series. I bought this for around £15 from Play.com. I like snowboarding games although this was my first game in the SSX series, Gameplay: The game consists of two main sections, "The Tour" which is the main "career" mode, and then "Quick Play" which is for multiplayer gaming and also quick races. In The Tour you compete in two main types of events "medals" which are competitions in race or slopestyle (tricks) form, and "shreds" which are more like challenges. During the career yuo win money to spend on boards, clothes and new tricks. You also win "hype" which improves your rank. You can also play the game with skis although Ive found the controls for that are more difficult. Graphics/Style: The graphics in this game are amazing, some of the best Ive seen for a PS2 game...
