Sony alpha A100

...At first glance the sony alpha a100 feals slightyly plastickly, but this is partly due to the fact that the body itself is made out of plastic, never the less the sony a100 is a fantastic digital sslr for the first time photograhper. Although it is slightly dissapointing that sony has not made a vertical grip for this product, overall the smooth shiny feal to the sony alpha a100, feals nice, and the shutter button fits snugguly into your right hand, however the camera is exceptional, but the custumer service is dreadful, when i accidently smashed my sony alpha 3 days after purchasing it, i was devistated, but not to worry, i was soon on to sony, and was relieved that there was a set price of £114 but i had to forck out a lumply sum of £360 to get it fixed. There isnt realy a fixed price and the level of custumer service...

Cannon powershot A100 1.2

Advantages: Cannon Quality, well made, impressive fetures.
Disadvantages: Battery consumption, no case provided in box

...The cannon A100 was my first digital camera, having progressed from 35 mm film. Previously being a Cannon sureshot instant camera (very good) and an olympus OM 30 SLR. (superb but worth peanuts now !!?? ) no one wants the old messy film anymore, I guess. Used to love the old film stuff , depth of field, shutter speed, apeture, lenses, bits and bobs, you know the story. Remember how exciting it was to wait that short time ( couple of days was cheap, or 1 hour was bleedin expensive) you just had to see those pics you took 6 months ago !. (walked into a post once looking at the results) Now there's no waiting, simply plug it in the Pc and you're away (no more bumps on the head ! ) Sorry getting back to digital..... I bought this camera 2 years ago when 1.2 megapixels was the in thing, the salesman kept going on about how rubbish 640...

Seagate Momentus 7200.1 ST910021A 100 GB Review

Advantages: Small, fast, large cache

...times. So overall it performs well. Seagate are a trusted manufacturer and have been around for a while. As far as I'm aware they have never made a bad device line, but then my HDD's of preference are normally Western digital. The device uses an 8mb cache, this isn't a special as it used to be since many other 2.5"HDDs now use this amount but its still a plus point for the device. It runs a 7200RPM, this is about the same as many normal 3.5" HDDs but is quite fast for a laptop variant. As I said before it is important to look at your need for this type of device, there are many other devices available that do the same job but for a far lower price. You should only buy 2.5" HDD's if you really need one and if you can't use anything else. I bought this one new from Ebuyer for just over £100 inc VAT and delivery. Its now happily...

Pixels are not the be all and end all of digital cameras as so much is dependent on the lens and image processor of the cameras. A 6m pixel SLR will always prduce images equivalent to 10m pixels on a compact because the sensors are large and the lenses are so much better. The A-100 has a 10.2m pixel sensor.
