My second A3

Advantages: Fast, robust, handling, economy
Disadvantages: Centre arm rest makes use of handbrake a pain

...Recently I bought a new a3, i chose it to replace the a3 I had at the time which had proved economical, reliable and reasonably nippy, it was a 1.6. The real determining factor for me though was the fact that the 1.6 was written off when a 52 seater bus didn't bother breaking and smahed the rear end in. Standing back and looking at the damage I was impressed that the tailgate had still about a foot or so to go before reaching the back seats. Granted the bus probably wasn't doing more than 30 mile an hour, but I was stationary. So replaced the 1.6 with a 1.9tdi , 6gear. Having 130 bhp certainly makes a difference and this thing is quick when you want it but very economical if you're just cruising. I get around 600 miles on a tank. The seating position is pretty adjustable, my car has the usual forward/back/tilt and backrest...

Cheap and cheerful A3 scanner

Advantages: Cheap, easy to use
Disadvantages: Software too simple

.... Never mind, I'm sure it will become retro cool one day!!!!! As with most scanners, progress while scanning can be viewed via a strip that allows the scanner light to be seen through a green glass, so as the light progresses internally down the scan, it is reflected externally. Other than that, it is plain, detail free and gives the impression that it is more than robust enough to cope with being dropped!. What more do you want from a scanner! Price & Availability Luckily, as this is the only A3 colour scanner available for less than £100, it is widely available, and invariably in stock with most retailers. The only real difficulty with it is its mainly available on-line as apose to kept in store, but most stores will enable you to order them and collect them in store if this is your preference. HP Office Paper - I know, I know, a boring topic

Advantages: Cheap, good enough quality
Disadvantages: None

The list price per ream is around £3.49, although if you buy four or more, the price comes down to around £3.00. This is a bargain, because most economy paper costs the same amount but you don't get the same gsm, this paper is much higher. --Conclusion-- If you work in an office or from home, or you do a lot of printing in your household then I would certainly reccomend this. It works out at just over half a penny per sheet if you buy a single ream, so a little bit of wastage won't dent you pocket. Advantages: Fascinating subject, great ethical debate, Ellie

Whilst it isn't her best novel, it's extremely thought-provoking and a pleasure to read. As with her other fiction, Plain Truth explores the ethics surrounding a situation where a person has been accused of a crime. Unlike any of her other novels (so far, anyway), this is a violent crime where the accused is Amish. PLAIN TALKING

Advantages: Superb look at life from another perspective.
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little weak at the end

..., and the sameness of these simple people who are known as 'Plain' makes sense, given the fact that it is not the individual that counts but the combination of individuals that make the society what it is, gives it its' strengths and perhaps through this story, its weaknesses too. I realise that this is fiction, though it is exceptionally well thought out fiction that would appeal to a wide spectrum of readers. In carrying out the exercises at the end of the book, I felt that my understanding of the differences between Amish 'right' and American 'right' was wide, and it wasn't until you understood the make up of the complex characters that make the story, that you are able to appreciate the complexity of the issues posed. Audi A3 1.6 Sport (W)

Advantages: Stunningly good looking, well sought after - easy to sell on, definitely get more then you paid for if you've done the research
Disadvantages: Audi servicing and parts pricey, steep insurance, overall maintenance expensive

Buying a USED A3 1.8T

Advantages: Reliability, quality of build, performance

...In March of 2004 I purchased a three year old, Y-reg Audi A3 1.8 Turbo-sport three door. The first thing that struck me with this car was the build quality and feeling of being in a very solid car. Despite being a smaller-sized hatch, this car has a surprisingly large amount of front space and a boot that could swallow whole families. Yes, the rear seats do have less leg room than you would expect in a car of this size, but the front sports seats cause this. In the non-sport model, the standard seats do allow for exra legs in the rear. The boot can comfortably hold three sets of golf clubs and if I collapse one side of the 2/3 split rear seats, six can easliy be squeezed in.
