What's All The Fuss About?
Review of Audi TT Coupé Quattro by
markd_uk
Advantages: Fast, Eye-Catching, Appeals to Many
Disadvantages: Understeer, Dark Interior
...interior, but with all the fuss about this car surely to drive it must be sublime?
The TT is based on the same chassis as the Audi A3, which also shares the same floorpan as the Golf. It's not uncommon for manufacturers to share platforms across models and with the Audi VW group also owning Seat and Skoda, derivatives of their cars also share the same chassis.
In the UK, two models were initially available to us, the 180bhp and 225bhp variations, and Audi's famed four-wheel-drive system was given as standard; in European countries the lesser-powered variant was also offered with front-wheel-drive only and after I spent some time behind the wheel of the 225bhp version I couldn't help but feel as if I was driving a hooky import variation.
Audi are revered in the automotive industry for their Quattro system, a four-wheel-drive system...

Premium Quality Car Offering Good Value for Money
Review of Audi A3 1.9 TDI SE by
richardwest1
Advantages: Economy, Build Quality, Residual Value, Desirability...
Disadvantages: Less performance than others at this price
...This review is based on my experiences of running this car over 10 days and 800 miles as a courtesy car.
The Audi A3 is a premium small family car and priced at the top of this particular segment. The car I used was the limited special edition version available on the road at a discounted price of just over £16,000. My initial reaction to being given the cheapest Audi in the range was one of disappointment as my own car is a well specified A4 with quattro and I also prefer the response of petrol engines. I was very pleasantly surprised by the A3 though.
As expected the interior build quality is superb and equal to that of more expensive models in the Audi range. Where the savings have been made are in the basic specification: Manual air-con, standard cloth seats, no front fog lights and single CD player etc. There is a good amount...

Review of Audi A3 3.2 Quattro by
tagheur
Advantages: Rocketship quick
Disadvantages: Licence eater
...Saw a one-page “First Steer” write-up on the new Audi A3 3.2 Quattro in Top Gear Magazine, thought “Ooh, that looks like a little belter”, and decided to give my long suffering Audi salesman a ring to see if I could blag a test-drive in one.
Fair do’s, the lad come up trumps and got me one for the day. Result! Have you seen the new A3 yet? No? Well, you may have and just not have noticed. It’s very similar to the old one really although to my eyes it’s not as pretty. Underneath is a completely new car. Built on the new Golf Mk V floor pan (due here in February), it’s a bit bigger in every direction than the outgoing car. In keeping with the other members of the VAG range there is a bewildering array of engine sizes and specifications. The 3.2 Litre Quattro Sport is the daddy...

Gillette - NOT the best a man get
Review of Wilkinsons Sword Quattro Titanium by
yackers1
Advantages: No cuts, no irritation, long lasting blades and no pulsating
Disadvantages: Why did they not make these sooner?
...I bet by the title you thought that this was a review on the Gillette series right? Well no - I have discovered the BEST razor ever.
The Wilkinson Sword Quattro titanium and it now comes with the vibrating unit for a closer (supposedly) shave.
I used to be a Gillette mach 3 man. The three blades were brilliant. You take one swipe and it takes 3. I also found that if you are heavy handed (and admit it people we all get it sometimes - the morning after a heavy night, when you're running late etc. Or as I always found, when the last thing I needed was blood spots all over my face!) the razor would cut 3 times and usually along the whole length of the blade. Dried up blood (after 3 hours to actually scab up) is not a pretty look.
It was then I found the Wilkinson Sword Quattro. I admit it - I was sceptical since I was bad enough with 3...

Review of Audi A3 2.0 TDI DSG Sport - S Line by
SPACEDEVIL
Advantages: Peppy, fun and practical.
Disadvantages: stock tires, weird armrest/handbrake ergonomics, rear window buffeting
...I bought my A3 about 4 weeks after they were released in the US. I've now got almost 20,000 miles on it and have enjoyed every mile.
I have a 60 mile daily commute, which is a good combination of open and mountainous freeway driving. The A3 is amazing uphill. The new Audi 4-cyl 2.0 Turbo combined with the 6 speed DSG doesn't even stutter when traveling up the 2 mile 3% grade I drive daily. I've got to watch myself to keep myself from doing 90 mph up it. I cannot imagine what the new S-line version will be like with the larger V6 engine and quattro. For those of you that don't know what DSG is, it stands for Dual Shift Gearbox. DSG is basically a semi-automatic transmission that uses two clutches instead of one - which the end result is faster and smoother shifting. The DSG model included paddle shifting controls on the steering wheel...

Better alternative to Fusion, Cheaper too
Review of Wilkinsons Sword Quattro Titanium by
frozenace
Advantages: Very fast , steel wires prevent you from cutting yourself
Disadvantages: Mediocre design
...I had my first experience with the Wilkinson Quattro after receiving a free sample with a magazine and then decided to use it until I went on to get the Gillette Fusion razor.
The Fusion is quite a good product, but when it comes to price, at 2 pound per blade, it's a rip off, since the Quattro Titanium blades not only work on the new Quattro Titanium handle, but also work on the old one as well.
The four protective steel wires protect you from cutting yourself when moving your fingers horizontally across and from the packaging it seems like that the material is proper Made in Solingen Steel, which is quite unusual in a world where everything seems to be made in China.
The design of the handle is almost the same as the previous one, although the steel on the blade is now Titanium coated for more durability.
Come to think of it...

4x4 of the dive world
Review of Mares Avanti Quattro by
Jimbolian
Advantages: Very strong, powerful, good buckle system
Disadvantages: price (although can't complain too much!)
...These fins are among the best I've used - at the moment I prefer the conventional fin design: but I'm slowly investigating the side of twin channel models.
The Plana Avanti Quattro fins are very durable - mine have been through a lot and they still look new, rather than the numerous pairs of fins which look like they've just been discovered in a glacial deposit after a couple of dives!
Propulsion is brilliant (thanks to their "4 channel design") and they present far less stress on the legs than other models I've tried.
The ABS buckle system is great - it endures easy donning of fins (simply slip the strap over the heel and click both sides) - the lock on the side has meant that I have not once had to chase after a fin that decided it wanted to abandon me: and yet they are the easiest fins to take off after a dive... unclip the buckle...

Good Washer
Review of Hoover Quattro AA230 by
broksababe
Advantages: plenty of wash programmes
Disadvantages: expensive
...i recently purchases a Hoover Quattro 1300 as my old washer was only a cheapie and on its last legs!!
The thing that attracted me to this apart from hoover being a good make, was the amount of wash programmes and spin speed is 1300.
It also has a jet clean system to help circulate the water, the god thing is you can choose any programme number and alter the spin speed and /or Temperature to suit your clothes.
it also has an express wash for normal stains or a longer wash if needed, plus the usual creaseguard etc.
The main thing i did notice is how quiet it is when it spins and also how little water it uses!!
A good washer allround but not cheap!...

TTlating
Review of Audi TT Coupé Quattro by
KungFuJoe
Advantages: Style, solidity, grip, pace, safety, lights
Disadvantages: Need to drive VERY fast to have real fun in it
...Up until leaving my firm this summer, my company car was an Audi TT quattro 225 in Denim Blue. I had it for 18 months and covered 30,000 miles in it. (Note: My TT was an X-reg 2001 model. The latest version has slighty revised and improved handling, so if you're buying new, my comments about handling later on may be less applicable.)
First the good. I don't need to tell you it is gorgeous. If you've seen one you already know it. It has influenced the design of most cars since its release and will go down as a design classic. The front lights, the profile, the squat stance and the interior are what make it special to me.
Inside the car is comfortable for two. I had loads of space in it and I'm 6'0". A 6'3" friend was also amazed by the room. The seats are very comfortable, although not up to the very high standards...

A genuine All-In-One tool
Review of Black & Decker Quattro Kit 4 in 1 by
alabony
Advantages: Solid, versatile, dependable
Disadvantages: Just BEGINNING to get a bit old and creaky
...My wife gave me a Black & Decker Quattro for Christmas 3 years ago. Lucky old me, I thought - not being particularly keen on DIY at the time.
To its credit, the little jobs I did do with the Quattro were completed easily and without stress, so my confidence built up.
Having a father-in-law who's a retired cabinet-maker and furniture restorer, I thought I should take advantage of some consultancy from him when I decided to build some bookshelves for our new house.
This is where the Quattro came into its own. With my list of required tools being saw, sander, drill, screwdriver, the Quattro was perfect. The only other tool I had to purchase was a little plane, but technically that was only to save time tidying up edges - I could still have used the sander if necessary.
I've now built 5 bookcases (not all for our house, I should add...
