Not good enough
Review of Motorola A920 by
mphill1973
Advantages: Screen size, mp3 & video playback
Disadvantages: Battery life, buggy, size
...I got the A920 free in November of last year when 3 were just starting to push themselves. I'm a real gadget freak and it looked to be just what I wanted from a phone - a combination of a mobile and a PDA. I really wanted it to be good (and I've had a few great Motorola products in the past) but it just isn't quite 'there'.
Leaving aside all the problems with 3's network such as poor coverage and no Internet access, the phone has still been a disappointment. It does lock up or crash everyday, text messages occasionally don't go and I've never managed to send an MMS to anybody! The screen is very nice, video and MP3 playback are excellent but the price you pay is the shocking battery life. If you use the phone heavily, you'll definately need the spare battery and charger.
Although it's big , it is no worse than the average PDA...

Feature Packed, shame its not reliable!
Review of Motorola A920 by
kevinbilton
Advantages: Excellent MP3 player, good camera
Disadvantages: Bulky, no bluetooth, short battery life
...I have owned the Motorala A920 since Dec 03, I brought it because 3 have the best tarriffs of any network and the phone offered the best features.
The Good - The phone offers numerous features which are as good if not better than any other manufacturers products. Excellent video and photo capabilities, the phone is provided with a 32mb SD memory card which can be replaced with a larger one if necessary so you can store as many photos/mps or videos that your budget will allow.
The phone is easy to use once you get the hang of using a stylus rather than a keypad. The ringtone options are endless, you simply convert an mp3 and you have a new ring tone. The calender, email and diary system is great and the operating system can be easily linked to software on your pc. You also get a spare battery and two chargers with the phone...

Great phone.... pity about the network
Review of LG U8120 by
mphill1973
Advantages: Stylish, feature packed, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Battery life if heavily used, network coverage.
...I've been a 3 user for more than a year now and had previously used the Motorola A920. I was due an upgrade since it was getting more than a bit battered and a friend of mine has the 8120. I was impressed enough to order one which turned up next day.
I won't bore you with the specs which can be found elseware but I will say it is very neat and stylish, well featured and easy to use. The screen is excellent and shows off the results from the camera really well. The build in flash is novel but useful and does make a big difference.
The menu system is a bit 'cutesy' for my tastes but does allow to use all the features such as still/video camera, mp3 player, applications, etc quickly and easily. It seems to do pretty much everything my old A920 did and a fair bit quicker too. The only real difference is a smaller screen and it's not touch...

Fast, easy to install and use All in One printer
Review of Dell A920 Multifunction Printer by
TheJudge1979
Advantages: Colour and Black Printer, clear scanner, copier and fax
Disadvantages: Fax needs a special software and ink cartridges do not last long
...Using DELL A920 ll-in-One printer is so easy, the installation is strightforward and all supported by a lot of help and support documents and user manuals. It also have a Dell Printer Solution Center which is a small piece of Help and support software installed with it.
The user manual or as they call it the owner's Manual and the software provided are great as they include step by step tutorials, simple instructions and presented in 5 different languages.
All you need to copy or scan is press a button and there you go. It's fast, clear and strightforward. The printer can stay off and as soon as you hit Print in your computer, it switches itself on which I think it is great but it stays on afterwards until you switch it off yourself. If I was to re-design it, I would include a timer of switching it off after finished using it. I...

A920 its great.. is it?
Review of Motorola A920 by
jonathanhall
Advantages: cheap network, pretty good software
Disadvantages: network, huge, battery crap
...with the different games, software you can get for the phone it is a big brick and annoying wo carry. Dont get me wrong, I do still love it, it makes other non symbian OS phones look prehistoric and basic. But it is simply too big. The battery life is also crap, even tho they do give you two batteries. After tweaking I can get couple days standby if it is not used, and a day with normal usage. BTW, the internet side is locked to three's portal only.
If you don't need it for a specific function now, ie read pdfs, etc (you need 3rd party software) then skip it. It is old hat now, and smarter nicer looking phones are coming onto the market. btw the a925 is same phone in a different package to get over the looks, pffft its still an ugly duckling.
Check out these great websites (esp forums) for it www.uk-net.org , www.aussie3g.net. Took me hours of hunting...

well worth the money
Review of Fujifilm FinePix A920 by
alisarialtun
Advantages: excellent motion capture in day light, very good focusing, easy to use
Disadvantages: users manual has lots of warnings, needs good battery charger for max performance
...I have recently bought a Fujifilm Finepix A920 and It is quiet better than I expected. It takes good scenery photos even at night but you mustn't move it while you're taking a photo of a scenery at night. In other modes it usually gives excellent results. Especially when Flash is enabled you can take very clear photos and I tested capturing while vibrating it and thrown items. It gives perfect results if you select the right mode. If you had a chance to watch as while we were testing it, you would think we were complete freaks :)
Some people might say it makes some strange noises whlie zooming in and zooming out because the lens goes front and back. Personally, I don't think it is an annoying thing and it is not something to worry about because there is some mechanical movement there.
Many shops will give you a memory card for free...

Great value fun factory :->
Review of Motorola A920 by
Senno
Advantages: Good camera, video clips, MP3, expandable
Disadvantages: Size and weight, surfing locked to 3
...I already own an NEC e606 on 3, which I bought in April of this year, and was keen to see what the next generation of 3G mobiles would offer.
The first thing you notice is the size of the box and quantity of components you get with the phone. Like the e606 before it, the A920 comes with 2 batteries, 2 power cables, handsfree kit, substantial manual and 3 services guide, CD ROM and USB cable. In addition this new model also includes a black phone cover sleeve, and desktop cradle - offering a slot to charge the spare battery alongside the phone itself.
To my eye, 3G handsets are made to a higher standard than the majority of 2G models. Very robust and solid. However, they are also consistently larger and heavier. The size and weight of the A920 precludes dangling it from a belt loop, and you certainly know it's in your pocket! Someone...

Good, But Could Be So Much Better
Review of Motorola A920 by
Goldy999
Advantages: Great Football Highlights; PDA functions; Decent Signal
Disadvantages: Touch Screen; Poor Battery Life; Re-Dialling
...I recently went down to my local town on the hunt for a new phone at all costs. My old phone had taken a few bumps, so I thought it was time for a change. I went into the 3 Store and was shown the Motorola A920, playing a loop of several football clips. The clips looked extremely impressive, so after enquiring more into the price of the phone and the tariff, I bought one. When I got it home however, things weren't quite as I had hoped...
The first thing I noticed was the fact that you are supplied with 2 batteries for the phone. A very useful idea as you can carry a spare with you in case of emergency. However the second battery is obviously put in for a different reason. The battery life is shockingly short. I don't use my phone that often, but still I only manage to scrape 6-8 hours out of it, even on little or no usage. I find myself...
