Rechargeable NiMH Batteries

...So you've got all your holiday appliances, Battery powered digital camera, Digital Video Camera or Standard Video Camera, MP3 or CD player, and other battery powered appliances, trouble is.....it costs a small fortune to keep these things powered, and standard Nickel Cadmium ( NiCads) Batteries just don't last very long or hold enough power to work the camera, and on top of this these batteries have a memory which needs to be completely discharged otherwise afer a short period of a few recharging cycles thy wont hold a charge... So is there an answer to all this inconvenience...fortunately there is... ~~~o0o~~~ You may have heard the term NiMH ( Nickel Metal Hydride) Batteries, these are rechargeable, come in standard sizes AAA, AA, C & D sizes plus specialised sizes for Video Cameras, the can be reacharged many times...

Uniross AA rechargable batteries

Advantages: Easy to charge, long-life
Disadvantages: None I can think of

...I first came across this brand when I needed batteries more suited to my camera than ordinary, non-rechargeable AA batteries (as mentioned in my previous review). They were recommended to me by the cashier as reliable and perfect for what I needed them for, as they're good for longevity. I thought maybe these were the most expensive and that's why they were recommended, but they were about £25 for 4, which was cheaper than some other brands of the same description on display. I have since looked online and found both the batteries and the charger I use for a cheaper price, try amazon.co.uk and dell.com. The first time I used them, they lasted a good couple of weeks, alternating use between my camera and CD player. They proved especially useful in my old CD player, which usually stops mid-song, and I'll have to re-adjust the batteries...

...believe that most of my batteries have charged in about 60 minutes, on a full charge from an empty battery. As well as getting the charger, which plugs straight into the wall it includes 4 x 2500mAh Ni-Mh AA's (which are in sliver, and look quite attractive, you won't get these thrown out as they definately stand out from panasonic and duracell) You can charge AAA batteries however the sale only comes with 4 AA batteries. It has a sensor control, a red and green light, to tell you when it is still charging and when the charge is fully complete. Another helpful feature is that it includes a car adapter for no extra cost. Uniross 1 Hour AA and AAA battery charger

...Having had a previous Uniross charger for several years which had provided a stirling service until it was dropped and broken, I wanted to stay with a manufacturer I knew and felt comfortable with. After hunting down several models I narrowed it down to this 1 hour charger (model no. AAB04541-3) which charges both AA and AAA batteries, either two or four at a tiime. It will also charge either Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries. It comes with a mains plug charger adaptor (100-240v) and a lead for plugging into your car cigar lighter socket. ...and it starts charging your batteries. The actually charger is about hand size and can be used while travelling too. It has two LED's which light up green when both sides have batteries placed with in it, if you only place two batteries on the front only one LED will light up and vice versa. If on the other hand the LED's don't light up then your battery is either faulty or you haven't places it in the charger properly. Is very straight forward to use, only one switch to chose the type of battery to charge, insert the batteries, up to 4 depending of type, plug it in and wait until its charged. It comes with a charge indicator and will stop charging when the batteries are ready; a green light will come up. It can recharge batteries type AAA, AA and GF22, respectively up to 4, 4 and 2. I use them in my Xbox 360 Controllers which are used by me and my brothers so they were on for most of the week. ...When I upgraded my photographic equipment to a complete digital set up I started from scratch. I was always a Nikon user but decided Canon was the way to go for reasons not relevant to this review.
